Noticed it's been quiet here in the last week... Hope things are going well for everyone, both in poker, and in general.

He's made the software too good. ;)

Help Me / Re: Stalled

Dont know what your computer specs are but this has always worked fine for me even on my old laptop. Would think that the file might be corrupted/some file missing. Uninstall and then reinstall the software. Would also suggest that you defragment your hard drive, delete the temp files and run a virus scan.
Would also highly recommend upgrading to the new version. The old version of TD is great, but the new one is even better. Great to work with, easy to use and even more user friendly.
There are some great ideas on the forum of things you can do to customise and adapt the TD software to suit your needs and I know that the Corey and the other people on here are all willing to help you get the best out of it.

Suggestions / Re: rebuy/add-on - original positions
« on: July 22, 2012, 11:45:33 AM »

The first time I tried this, I re-bought-in the busted out players, however this then resulted in the short stacked re-bought in players all being seated on the same table(s) -

A bit of a quandry for you there Richie, I think no matter which way you do it, you will be doing extra work. How about setting the tables up so there are no forced movement until the tables fall below 4 players. Then when you add the re-bought players in to the game they would just fill the empty seats. So you would have a mix of players with hi and low stacks.

On the Preference tab, select behaviour. ->Then to Tables tab default value ->maximum player disparity and change the value to what setting you need.

Another way of getting players to remember there seats is to give out (when players first buy in) a table and seat number ticket. So after the re-buy period each player has a record of where they were sitting.
Or on the tables tab take a screen dump of the tables screen control/alt/Prt Sc, save it in paint and then then you can display it on the screen during the break.

Is the league run by Red tooth?

In any re-buy tournament that i have done, the players have to buy in as soon as they are busted. Only ever seen this done at a poker league, and then the re-entry didn't cost anything.
Indeed, I am running a poker league tournament - unfortunately we are mandated to follow the tournament format which stipulates the (free) rebuy/add-on after the first hour.

Once the break starts and everyone had re-bought or added on. Just randomise the seating again for all players.
I can see you having the same problem if people aren't rejoining the game straight away.

Seems that this is just making more work for your self.

Sounds to me that you are busting out the players before they have stated they want to re-buy.
A player can't be eliminated from the game if they still have options to re-buy or add-on, so instead of busting them out and letting them re-enter the game, just do the re-buy.
The only time a player will be eliminated, will be when they refuse to take, or have no further options to take a re-buy or add-on

Add ons are best done during a break and this usually done after the re-buy period has ended.
Add-ons are usually available to all players regardless of their chip stack size. Once this period has passed any player who loses their chips will be eliminated.

I don't think that there is a way to reset the tables to a previous time in a game.

If you do bust a player out by mistake, you can always click on the option to not move players.

Templates, Layouts and Sounds / Animated text
« on: July 11, 2012, 07:42:14 AM »
Just starting to use Animation shop. And i have the idea to use animated gifs as backgrounds One idea is to insert the gif into the background of a cell.

I have an idea to put each control button in its own separate cell. So that each button could be individually placed within a layout. (I know that this can be done as Timmer posted some buttons on this board).

For example:- This is the contents of the button which would buy in players.

<tdbutton type="buyin" text="Buy-in" inheritFont="true">

I have made an animation, which I want to insert as a background for the cell. The animation has animated text scrolling across the cell which reads "Buy-in players"

In the cell for a button, What would I delete from the cell, to stop the text being displayed.

Any thought of this idea, any comments or any suggestion (good or bad) would be welcome.
I have attached a copy of the gif. You can view this gif in the TD software by inserting the gif as a background in any cell The gif is not to size yet.

EDIT:- I have just tried this. Failed miserably; I removed the "Buy-in players" from the cell but this did not work.
What I want is to remove the text and the button that is displayed and have the animation as the button any ideas please. What would happen if i made the text for the cell, transparent? I have attached a picture of the result that i got.

Another Edit:- Changed the text to transparent - this made the text in the cell invisible but left the button.

Help Me / Re: Picture on LCD is way too big

In the templates and sounds Tab on the forum there are lots of different layouts with different resolutions- from 1024 upwards. Why not down load a few different layouts and see what happens when you try these .
Alternatively, if you have some thing like photoshop or Adobe elements load up your backgrounds and resize them and see what happens.
If you dont have a program that resizesm you can try Gimp, a good free paint program.

In regards to the Bears layout I think I'd have to give it some more thought, and view some more layouts to pick up more ideas.

http://www.thetournamentdirector.net/forums/index.php?topic=2038.0
check out this Layout. Timmer, Magic, Jodi and stumarr have done some great layouts. If you download some of there layouts, strip them down and you will be able to see how they work and see just how they have set up there layouts, it will give you a much better understanding of how things go together and just what you can do. . V2 was a great piece of work, but there is not a lot that TD v 3.1.1 cant do. I knew absolutly ziltch , but all i did was ask and people were more than happy to help, Good luck and enjoy.
