Clock freeze
« on: January 12, 2019, 10:05:26 AM »
I've been having the same problem over the last few months.  Windows automatically upgraded to Explorer 11, which I know has a memory loss issue.  I rolled back to IE10, but I'm still getting the hangup.  About 1/2 way through the tournament the clock freezes.  When I press esc to go to the setup menus, I get a blank screen.  The last game I was able to go to task manager to kill TD and when I reloaded ti picked up right where I left off.  On other occasions, I had to reboot the computer and then reload TD. Everything came back except the time was off.  (Win7, 64b).  It appears to happen mist when players are busting out, but not exclusively.  The only other Windows updates that I see have recently installed ar KB4457144 and KB3177467.  Are there any known problems with these?

I also posted this as a reply on another post, so I apologize for any duplication.

That's unusual.  I'm still using IE 10 on Win 7 on my main dev PC, and I've still never seen the memory leak issue.  Every case, without fail, that has been reported to me where it looks like the memory leak issue, has been from someone using IE 11.  I have replicated the issue on Win10/IE11 easily, but cannot on Win7/IE10.

I'm not familiar with those updates, but I wouldn't rule out some component being the ultimate memory leak cause, and it being distributed in some other update (not just with IE11).  But the truth is, I just don't know.

Thank you for answering, Corey.

Unfortunately, both links do not work.

Best, Thorsten.

What do you mean?  They go directly to other forums topics.  They definitely work for me.  What happens when you click them?

Corey, I think he means the solutions in the links aren't working.

Thanks.  You're probably right.  I guess I was confused because neither of them are actually solutions.  The first has steps that can hopefully help until the next version is complete, and the second has information on the progress of the next version.  ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Hello Corey.

Actually i meant, that I cannot read the topics. But that was a firewall issue. :-)

The Topic "3.5 Progress" is a very good news. I press all my thumbs.

Best, Thorsten.
