Looking for Layout

Hi all,

I recently went to a Casino here in the UK, and was actually impressed by their clock interface. They don't allow cameras in the card room, so I tried to find a photograph of it on the internet, or better still find the actual software. I was able to find the following image, which is exactly the same as the clock they have:



I wonder if anyone can identify the software used, or perhaps I will have to make it up myself. The image above was taken from the PokerStars Blog.

Can't see what's in the center (big) section, but all the other elements seem like they could be easily replicated using TD.

Only thing I would say is that if you don't a huge LCD/Plasma screen, then you won't be able to see much of the side/bottom text from very far away.

But, again, this could be replicated with TD easily.

There is a casino in the town I live in, and they have a real nice layout. I ask every time I'm there what program they use and they are very secretive about it. I don't think they use TD. I think they have a programmer that actually custom made theirs.

Yes, I think that you probably did. The name that the Gala Casinos here in the UK give to their card rooms is "Poker Magic", and so perhaps the software is a bespoke piece. I just liked their layout, plain and simple. I think that I wil have a go at it tonight, but I think it's going to take longer than a night to accomplish everything.

Here is my simple layout. (clickable image, will give you bigger image).

I have found the most important elements were (1) the blinds, (2) time.

The dealers like to have the next blinds and some people like the avg. stack.

I got rid of chip colors/denoms (took up too much space).

If I had a faster computer I might add some banners of other elements revolving into some of the spots.  But I found that making everything on the screen as big as possible is important (I use 2 x 21 inch monitors for my 2 table games).

Could easily modify to suit your needs.  I didn't use global settings though, so it isn't the neatest layout around.  I just added my own html elements.  Diffent colors for even rounds, but otherwise the same (green tones).

This is my layout for non-ante games (many beginner players at my games, so I am about to give up on ante's even though I am fond of them in tourneys - just too hard to manage).

Well, I set to to design the layout shown above, and with a bit of tinkering to add some of the cool features in TD, I am happy with what I have come up with. Here is a sample screenshot shown with no entrants or anything, just so you can get an idea of how it looks. I welcome any comments, and if people would like I would be more than happy to share this with others.

I only wonder why you are using 3/4 of the screen for buttons and blank space when these same buttons have hotkeys associated with them.  Or aren't you using the layout for player viewing, just for directing the tourney?

Will your players be able to see the clock and blind numbers?

The reason that I added the buttons to the large space I prefer to have the buttons there, so that at the home games or small toruney games I help organize can be run by anyone not already familiar with the excellent software, and its hotkeys etc. All I have to do is set it up, and then pretty much anyone can run the tourney. Obviously if you would like I can post the TD file up here so that you can have a play around with it yourself. Let me know if you would like me to do that.

So far, I have tried it out on my 19" TFT monitor (full screen view) and all details can be viewed from a fair distance (from the table at least). Obviously they will be better on larger displays, but for home games they are fine.

Let me know if y'all want me to post the source file up.

Wow thanks for this.  Me too have wanted to source what software the casinos here in the UK use but had no luck.  Was going to try replicate this too but now you have done it, that saves me an extra task.

I have replicated all the sounds that this software uses as well such as
"the tournament is about to commence"
"the blinds are now..."
"there will now be a short break"

etc etc so I will post these up soon as I think they will be very useful.
