Borders
« on: March 09, 2011, 04:16:00 PM »
In beta 4, I add borders to a particular cell, change the color and the thickness, click OK then Apply. Nothing changes. When I click on the Border option to modify its properties it has reverted back to black and 1.

The borders functionality was modeled after border editing in MS Excel, so the hope was that it would be more intuitive.  Maybe it didn't work.  :)  Version 2.5.11 and earlier allowed turning each of the 4 borders on or off, but the border attributes (color, size, style) had to be the same.  2.6 allows you to set each border individually.  So, set the attributes (color, size, style), then click on the side you wish to apply those values.

The borders are not showing up on my layout. However, they are not defaulting back to the original black and 1px thickness. I tried with a few different cells and the results were the same

So... when you edit a Border, the Border dialog opens.  You make modifications and the appropriate borders appear in the preview area, right?  When you press OK on the Border dialog, the appropriate borders show up in the preview area on the Cell Properties dialog, right?  But they don't show up on the layout?

Obvious question, but are you sure you're editing the right property set?  If so, post the layout and let me know which cell and I'll look at it.

X the whole thing...I just noticed that the layout had the "Override all borders had been checked" That was the problem with my borders.

Is there anyway to set the Radius, for the Borders,   from a Rectangle, to Rounded, or Ellipse.....it seems it would make layouts a little easier to make,..know back and forth to get it right, or lined up, sentse the cells are already there..

I'm not sure I follow you, but I can tell you this: borders are limited to standard HTML element borders.  Since we're talking IE specifically, here's the documentation: http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ms530738%28v=VS.85%29.aspx

Not terribly exciting.
