TD wont save

I just redownloaded Tournament Director 2.5.3 to a new laptop running Vista Home Premium.  We originally installed the program and put in the license key it would not allow me to save anything.  The Save button was greyed out and when I click on "Save As", nothing would happen.   Additionally the Auto Save check mark box will not allow me to put a check mark there. 

I uninstalled Tournament Director rebooted and then tried to reinstall it.  When I did this, It came up as the 30 day trial version and not the full version, additionally it would not even allow me to enter my product key.

I did see that others are having similar problems with Vista Home Premium and The 2.5.3 version of Tournament Director.    Please Advise.
