Help Me / HTML Layout Questions
« on: September 09, 2014, 08:55:00 AM »
Hi everyone,

I am interested in starting to create layouts using HTML, but I am at a loss. And when I mean loss, it's more of a "how-the-heck-do-I-do-it?"

I have tinkered with the receipt.html and I thinking the layout is going to be similar. In the example below would I would like to insert Round on to the layout, would I do it like this?

<table>
 <tr>
    <td> Round: <round> </td>
</tr>
</table>

If this is correct, all you really need to do is find a WYSIWYG html editor, create your layout, go into the code and insert the tokens. Am I correct in saying so? Or am I way out in left field?

Also, sorry to have to ask an obviously stupid question, where can I find all the tokens/variables?

Thanks in advance,

John.

Again, I apologize for reviving an old thread. I recently bought a barcode scanner and receipt printer, and have gone through threads here at TD.

The way around this is to assign an ID to each player. You MUST have leading zeros. So for myself, I am ID 0001.  My membership card (or whatever you want to call it), has 0001 for the barcode. DO NOT make it just "1". If you do, any person that has a 1 in their ID will come up, and you will be back to square 1, searching multiple people.

HI Corey,

I figured out the logo. I just needed to link it to my imgur account. All is well on that front.

General Discussion / A new barcode+thermal printer thread.
« on: September 04, 2014, 08:37:13 PM »
Hi folks,

I read this threat a couple years ago http://www.thetournamentdirector.net/forums/index.php?topic=3159.0, and I had been very interested in it. Until Tuesday of this week, I had no clue how to get it to work.

I bought a TaoTronic USB scanner from Amazon with 1 day shipping for ~$40.00 CDN. Man......with the directions from the thread I linked, it is so easy to add people, buy them in and seat them. The scanner works right out of the box. Nothing special needed to make it work with TD. (Corey, every time I find a new feature in this program, I am blown away at what it can do!). I've printed cards for all of my players and have laminated them. Using this scanner, I can sign people into my tournaments with one key (*). If you are on the bubble about doing something like this, I say, GO FOR IT. You will not regret it.

My next step is to add a thermal printer for receipts. I have looked at the receipt.html and I have tried my best and failed miserably trying to get it to work. I have edited the html file, but when I do a test print to an inkjet, I get header information (name of file on the top left, page 1 of 1 on the top right) and footer information (file location bottom left, and date on the bottom right). Also, when I add my logo (same as my avatar, but in greyscale), the logo wont print. If the gurus (you know who you are....) could shed some light on this, it would be very much appreciated.

Enough babbling...

Again, Corey, your product ROCKS!

Help Me / How to allow add-ons before tournament starts?
« on: September 04, 2014, 01:15:58 AM »
Hi Smart People,

I have an add-on called a bulletproof vest. When a player gets to a certain low level of chips, they are allowed to use this 'add-on'.
My rules state that the person must buy the vest before a certain time (about 15mins before the tournament starts). They can not buy them during the tournament.

My problem is this, the software will not allow me to "sell" the add-on until the tournament starts. I'd like to be able to sell the add-on before the tournament starts. Is there a way to do this?

Thank you in advance,
John.

Help Me / Re: Repetitive Sounds for breaks!!
« on: April 07, 2014, 08:13:10 AM »
So here is the thing about the net top.

I've been running tournaments on it for 2 years with out a hitch. Never a single problem. I purposely got the Intel graphics card because this little wonder also subs as a media centre when I want to watch a movie.

With regards to problem 3, again I've run this same tournament without changes, save the ones for the voice overs for the 5 minute breaks for years. I'm going to try your suggestions, and take it one step further....I'm going to replace the computer and see what's going on.

Stu, thank you very much for your time. As always, you have been very helpful. I will update you on this later.

Corey, you are ALWAYS there to help, and that is much appreciated.

Hi Stu,

Problem 1: I will try that

Problem 2: Model   ZBOX-ID81-U running Windows 7, 128 GB Intel SSD.

CPU Integrated   Intel Celeron 857 1.2 GHz Dual-Core
Chipset   Intel HM65 Express
Cooler Type   Fan (Single Slot)
Onboard Video   Intel HD Graphics
Onboard Audio   High-definition analog stereo
Optical Digital S/PDIF output
Onboard LAN   10/100/1000Mbps, WiFi 802.11n/g/b
Memory Size   8GB
Memory Slots   2 x 204-pin SO-DIMM
Memory Type   DDR3 1333 SO-DIMM
SATA   1 x 2.5-inch SATA 6 Gb/s
Video Ports   1 x HDMI, 1 x DVI
DVI   1
HDMI   1
USB Ports   2 x USB 3.0
4 x USB 2.0
Power Connector   DC19V
Package Contents   1 x ZOTAC ZBOX ID81
1 x Power brick & cable
1 x VESA monitor mount (w/4 screws)
1 x Stand
1 x WiFI antenna
1 x Media Remote w/ USB IR receiver

Players in DB 22. Players in tournament 10.

Problem 3: The residue, was a poor attempt at removing geek-speak. I tried to dumb it down, but I went to far. What it is, is the last rounds screen that is left on the screen with the break timer. I have 2 screens. 1 is for rounds and 2 is for break. In this case both are on the screen at the same time.

Thanks Stu!

Help Me / Repetitive Sounds for breaks!!
« on: April 06, 2014, 12:23:30 AM »
Hi everyone,

I need a little advice.

PROBLEM 1:
I created a new set of events (breaks and chip up breaks), that play a woman's voice announcing 5 minute break, 10 minute chip up break etc.

This is my logic, (isRound = 0) and (state = 2) and (breakNum = 1). In there I have it triggering 5minutebreak.wav

What is happening is the crazy b*tch wont shut up. It repeats until I go into events and click on omit.

PROBLEM 2:
When I hit the game tab, it takes up to 10 seconds for the screen to change.

PROBLEM 3:
See problem 1, but the screens do not change. So if the last blind level was 500 /1000 and just played the 30 minute round, the break timer comes up, but leaves the "residue" of the last round on screen instead of going to the break screen.

Any ideas or suggestions appreciated.

As always, thanks in advance,

John.

Is there anyway to have the event take place for multiple breaks?

Right now it sits at (isRound = 0) and (state = 2) and (breakNum = 1)

Is there way to have it trigger for breaks 1, 2, 5, 6, etc? Does this logic work? (isRound = 0) and (state = 2) and (breakNum = 1) or (isRound = 0) and (state = 2) and (breakNum = 2) or (isRound = 0) and (state = 2) and (breakNum = 5) or (isRound = 0) and (state = 2) and (breakNum = 6)

Thanks in advance.

Suggestions / Re: Licensing question.

Hi Corey,

Thank you for the fast and detailed response.

I will make sure that in future to start TD, then move the computer should it be necessary.

I actually DO like that the program has to validate itself.

Suggestions / Licensing question.
« on: January 08, 2014, 01:16:53 PM »
Just a suggestion,

I have TD on a micro computer. I use it for my 10 man home games in my garage, and I have the computer connected to the internet so that when it checks for the license it does so seamlessly. Last weekend however, I hosted a 30 man tournament, and had to move the game to the amenity room. After dragging all the chips, tables, chairs, food, computer, etc to the room and set everything up, I was dismayed to find that the computer wanted to check for the license. So...I had to unplug everything and race back to my house, connect the computer up, and then validate the license. Once that was complete I was able to run my tournament in the amenity room.

So Corey, I ask this,

In future builds, would it be at all possible to have a validate license button, so that before the computer that has an internet connection is turned off, we can validate the license? It would be helpful in the fact that once validated I can move the computer to an area without internet coverage and still run my tournament?

Thank you in advance,
John.

Help Me / Re: overscan on TV display
« on: January 03, 2014, 10:58:20 AM »
Maybe I'm not reading this correctly, the brain fog is still there as I just woke up, but the answer is in the title guys...

All modern LCD TV's have in their settings something called OVERSCAN, hit that button, and your screen will fit a 1920 x 1080 layout no problems.

Sorry for jumping in the middle of this conversation, and if this is NOT the answer you are looking for, I apologize.
