Recently I was watching the live feed for a  big national UK tournament. At the table were a couple of players that i knew and they were using there phones.

I was also following the game on a poker forum. One of the players  was messaging the forum and updating facebook. Telling the forum about hands he had played, why he folded hands, why he pushed hands  etc.

He was not doing this when he was in an actual hand. But you could see him using the phone on the live feed. But isn't this against the rules. By revealing his thoughts on another player or even his own actions isn't he breaking the rules.

 I always thought that the the ruling was,  that no mobiles were allowed at the table. Or does this only cover making an actual call.

Would like to hear any thoughts that people have on this.

Suggestions / Breaking tables suggestion

When players are eliminated and the table movements screen pops up to announce seat movements. Would it be possible to get TD to flash up a message, when a table is breaking up. Something like " Table 5 is Breaking"

Suggestions / Checking what event sounds are used in

In the layout screen, when you click on a cell, a dialogue box comes up and in the bottom is a "used by" button and when you click on this it lists where that particular cell is used. ie tournament screen, pre-tournament screen etc.

Is there a way that this  can be done on the sounds. So when you click on the sound it says something like . this sound is used in tournament start and in the breaks etc

Many of the same sounds are used in several events (i have about 75 events). and if you get, "as i have" sounds overlapping. It can be quite a task to find out exactly where the overlap occurs

Suggestions / Automatic tables

Some ideas.

1) "Suggest button" on the tables tab.

On the prizes tab you can suggest prizes. So as more people enter, more prizes are added.

On the tables tab you can set the tables up as you require, then late additions means that you have to add new tables.  Could a "Suggest Button" be added to the tables tab. It could be set up initially by selecting the size of the tables (no. of players /table). Then if "suggest" was selected, it could add tables as and when players are added to the game.

2) "Collapse of tables"

I would imagine that all tournaments are set so that the final table is the number 1 table.
Could it be set up so that table 1 is set by default as the last table to be broken.

3) "Displaying tables on the tables tab"

On the tables screen you can set it up to only show active tables. Would it also be possible to have that same action on the tables tab. So that when tables are no longer used they wont be displayed.


Help Me / Displaying stats

On the Stats page.

You can display the results for each individual match, such as name, position, hits, points. etc
 You can display the results for all matches played in a season. Which would display the running totals, Total Matches played, total number of hits, total points. etc.

But can you display on one sheet t so that it could display the following data in such a way as i have described in the nest paragraph below.

Name. Total games played, points earned from match 1, points earned from match 2, points earned from match 3 etc Then  display the total points earned from all matches. hits earned in match1. hits earned in match2, hits earned in match 3, etc then total hits earned from all matches.

I have had a look but as far as i can see  there appears no way to collate and print the information out in the way that i would like it to appear.

I know that if you go onto the view and select single view you can display the results and the sum.
for example If i wanted to see all the point earned, you can display, name, game 1 point, game 2 points, game 3 points and sum of all points from all games.
So is there any way to display these in a multiple view. to show more that one stat at a time.

Is there a token to display the buy in price of a bounty?
for instance to display "the price to re-buy a bounty ticket is"  <token>

In some bounty games not every one wants to buy a bounty .
Is there a token for displaying the number of bounties bought.
for instance "the number of bounty tickets bought is " <token>

We all have an interest in Poker, i actually got into running games to get a good game. Any one fancy a game sometime. We could set a home game UP on Pokerstars.
If any one is interested, give a yeah or a nay.
Also what format, blinds, levels etc

Help Me / Blind Levels display

Is there any way to stop displaying a blind, once the game has passed that a particular level.
for example: your on the second level. either remove/ or stop displaying the first level on the blinds schedule page.

Also when you have the chips displayed a images on the main screen is there any way to stop a chip being displayed when you chip up.
for example: $25 dollar chips removed - stop $25 vhip being displayed
I know you can stop it from being displayed on the screen by un-checking the "DISPLAY ON SCREEN" Check box on the edit chip dialogue box

Assuming 40 players in a tournament

1st player out get 10 points
2nd player out get 20 points
3rd  player out gets 30 points
with each player getting 10 points more than the player before
and so on
so that
the player out in 4th place would get 370 points
the player out in 3rd place would get 380 points
the player out in 2nd place would get 390 points
the player in finishing in 1st would get 400 points

Then i would like to award extra points for the top 9 finishers

1st  - 100pts
2nd - 80 pts
3rd - 70pts
4th - 60 pts
4th - 50pts
6th - 40 pts
7th - 30 pts
8th - 20 pts
9th - 10 pts

but  I would like this to work the same, regardless of the number of players in a tournament

so if there was 60 players, 60th would still get 10 points. 1st would 600 points
and if there were 20 players, 20th would still get 10 points and 1st would get 200 points.

Also, i know you can award points  for entering the tournament on the game tab, but is there a way of incorporating this into the formula.

Suggestions / Database Suggestion

In the rounds screen you can display the rounds in "Standard View" and in a "Spreadsheet" .
Would it be possible to have an option to display the database in a "Spreadsheet" View.

If that is not possible. On the Player tab, when you add a "New Player" there is a check box "Immediately Display this dialogue box"  which you can tick to make the new player form appear.
Could this be added as an option to the "edit database information" player information box.

I Think that this would be useful when entering further information on multiple players

When you save a templates on the rules tab, In the template, does it include  the announcement, welcome  messages that you have created as well? Or do you have to save each one seperatly.?

Help Me / Missing Blinds on the Tournament Layout screen

I have set a layout up. Everything works great except on level 6  which should read "current blinds 200 - 400".  The message does not display what is in the cell, which is  Current Blinds <smallblind> / <bigblind>

In the blinds cell the property set is default. And  for the even rounds and the Property set is "even rounds"

Also i the same on the next round which is break 2. the message <breaktext> does not appear.

Any ideas, probably something easy ut just cant get my eye on it

I have made a rules screen to be displayed pre-tournament
I have about 20 lines of rules. these are enclosed on html markings, I think? as in   <li>No Cheating. No Fighting. These will result in AUTOMATIC EXPULSION.</li>

I tried to get them to scroll across the screen from right to left, so i tried putting the <marquee> before and after each line.

This resulted in the first line ambling across the screen . when the text in the message was about 90 percent visible. the other lines started to come onto view, all were slightly behind the previous line but as more lines appeared the faster they all got. Until they were going so fast you would not be able to read them. One other thing is that the faster lines finished ahead of the first line and most were off the screen before the first line got to the left hand side.

I don't even know if this will work, i was just trying it out to see what would happen, But the idea i had was that each line would scroll across the screen in about 5 seconds one by one until all were visible and then would repeat the cycle indefinitely.

So is what I want, possible?

 I tried this because i want people to read the rules. If there is just a screen with a list of rules people tend to skip through them . but scrolling text gets people to wait and see what.s going to appear next.

Am i on the right track, if not!
  • could i scroll the text upwards?
    could i import a microsoft power point slide show into the screen?

Laugh your head off at what you may see as a daft idea  ::). But any thoughts good or bad would be appreciated.

Help Me / Pre Tournament Events

Could some one send me in the right direction for making pre tournament events.
There are several events that i would like to make

1) an event to trigger when the registration period opens ( the sound "registration is now open")

2) an event to trigger 10 minutes from the end of the registration period (the sound "there are only 10 minutes till registration ends")

3) an event to trigger 5 minutes from the end of the registration period (the sound "there are only 5 minutes till registration ends")

4) an event to trigger 1 minutes from the end of the registration period(the sound "there are only 1 minutes till registration ends")

5) an event to trigger when the registration period closes (the sound "registration is now closed")

I also have an sound event "the tournament is about to commence" which runs at the start of the game on level 1. But this overlaps and clashes with the "first blinds are " sound event. So i was thinking that when the pre tournament clock has ended, to stop the pre- clock and this will give me time to enter any late registrations  etc. But also to give "the tournament is about to commence sound" a hot key which can then be started manually.

I tried to make an event from scratch. I give the description "pre-Tournament". the trigger i put as  "before game = 1800" and then added the action - the sounds.

A couple of problems here. 1st of all, it didn't work.
To start a countdown you have to have at  least  2 players buy in.
I also have a sound event which plays when you buy players in, So when if I do get the "registration is open" event working, how can i stop it clashing with the players buy in sound event
