General Discussion / poker table
« on: August 21, 2008, 10:19:58 AM »
Hey everyone, i just got some 1/4" closed cell foam padding for my poker table, and i have seen on numerous sites that they use 3M adhesive spray on the table top. Would it be just as effective to wrap it under the table and staple it to the underside so long as it is nice and tight? or is the adhesive the way to go?

Help Me / during a break period
« on: July 09, 2008, 01:18:24 PM »
Is there a way (on the "break" round) to post a message on what chips to color up to? For example: at the first break i want to color up the 25 and 50 chips, and on the 3rd break the 100s and 500s. sometimes one of us might forget and not color up the proper chips until the next round starts. it's a family/close friends game, but i'd like it to run as smooth as possible. any suggestions on how to have a message "pop up" during a break?

Templates, Layouts and Sounds / Re: Best sound for Player Busts Out
« on: May 21, 2008, 08:13:36 AM »
I use different effects used randomly for bust-outs. "Hasta la vista...baby" from the Terminator; "Respect my authori-tie!" Eric Cartman; "Okay, this guy is a real zero, that's true", Otter from Animal House; "Eh, that's no big loss" Homer Simpson, and a couple others. To start the tournament I like to use "They're dogs...and they're playing POKER!!!!" Homer simpson. At the end of each round, with one minute left, is the opening guitar riff from WSOP (tv) and at the blinds change i use the outro for commercial guitar riff from WSOP. I have a few clips from "Rounders" i need co incorporate in there somewhere, but after the last player busts out and the game is over, i use "I am the Champion, I am the Champion, no time for losers cause i am the champion!......of the world!!!!" by Homer Simpson....It gets a huge laugh every time! I did a google search on .wav files but if anyone would like one of these sounds, email me at fouracespoker@yahoo.com. I will send them to you.

General Discussion / Re: The Royal Flush
« on: May 20, 2008, 01:08:50 PM »
awesome! I hit a royal flush on WSOP 2007 (playstation2) and also got beat by a royal on the same game. Hit a 9-King straight flush on pokerstars.net once. Best in a live card game was Quad Queens (Q-7 in the hole) Q-5-K-Q-Q. The other guy (heads-up) had Pocket Kings. when i hit trips on the turn i went all-in and he flipped over the cowboys. one of the guys watching said the game was locked up unless i hit the 4th queen. When i hit it i almost literally passed out! unfortunately, i went on to lose the match a few hands later. I flopped quad 4s (three-handed in another tournament, this time i went on to win). I had K-4 offsuit and flopped 4-4-4! I checked, he bet i went over the top all-in. I told him if he called, he goes home. he called with ace high and he went home (turn and river were both blanks). anyway, those are my best hands. I am still waiting to hit a real royal flush or even a straight flush. I have chip bonuses to whoever hits either one. so far, no one has claimed it. The only one who has come close was my (now late) grandfather, he had Quad 9s.

General Discussion / Re: NexGen Chips
« on: May 20, 2008, 01:01:32 PM »
I got 2,000 chips (with 4 aces design) from pokergamingproducts.com for about 10 cents per chip. 11.5g casino grade/metal insert. I spent around $250 (with a couple other items and shipping). I would suggest trying them out for some great deals. Everyone at my home game loves them! Not sure if they sell NexGen chips though. They have lots of different styles and weights and the ordering process was pretty easy. Check em out

General Discussion / Re: Rebuy - Coming back in - Blinds
« on: May 20, 2008, 12:57:18 PM »
Any time I have had a re-buy tournament, once you are out you immediately re-buy. If you choose to sit out you lose your chips from the blinds as they come around, you muck your cards on each deal. The other players at the table I'm sure would be confused when they deal having to make sure they don't skip that player, soon turning into a little frustration. It's happened only once in any of my home games. Besides, why would you re-buy and then WAIT for the blinds to get HIGHER? That's the only part that doesn't make sense to me.

Help Me / end of tournament sound effect
« on: May 15, 2008, 05:34:14 PM »
i am trying to get the sound effect to trigger after the last man has been eliminated and the game is over. is there something in the "condition" that i need to enter to get the sound to play? I got this great sound bite of Homer Simpson singing "I am the Champion" that i want to use, but can't trigger it. any suggestions? (Version 2.5.3)

Help Me / sound effects question

I have v.2.5.3 and was wondering if you can assign a certain sound effect to a certain player when they bust out. Is this possible?

Help Me / formula help
« on: May 14, 2008, 10:41:29 AM »
hey everyone, i am having a bachelor party next weekend. having about 16 players. I am looking for a formula that will give the following: 100 points buy-in, 50 for hit,  100 points for each place from last to first. also 50 more points for 3rd, 100 more for 2nd, 200 more for 1st. is there a formula for this or can i just list the 50, 100, 200 points under the prizes? If I remember right, I currently have the formula (n-r+1)*100 which gives me last place 100, next out 200, and so on. Also am looking for any other suggestions on formulas for point structures

Also, how do I set the Pre-Tournament Countdown Screen? All I can get to work is the Main Tournament screen
