Help Me / rebuy OR add-on, not both . . . . option for this?
« on: December 22, 2017, 11:47:00 AM »
I don't see this on the game tab, but wondered if tournament can be set up such that someone can either rebuy or add-on, not both.

Can keep track I guess, but wonder if it isn't build in somewhere.

I searched for this in help forum.  Almost surprised I didn't ask this before as I usually allow one or the other, not both.

Help Me / Change payout towards end to include bubble
« on: December 05, 2017, 06:32:39 PM »
So I use automatic prizes/payouts based on my own version of the standard automatic prize/payout template (xml file).

All I want to know how to do possibly more easily is change the payout structure towards end of tourney to add an additional payout.

Scenario is 12 players & tourney would usually pay off top 3.  Tourney gets to bubble with 4 left & players suggest bringing in bubble for small % payout.

I see I could add a prize & give them say 5% or some fixed amount, but then I have to manually change the other percentages.

It could work, but is a bit cumbersome & wonder if something isn't built in to accommodate this.

This is not a chop, as people will continue to play.

Maybe I answered my own question.  Maybe if I designate bubble to get a fixed amount that the % allocated to 1-3 would still figure correctly based on what is left. That could work very well.  Not at my computer to test. :-\

So, usually when you touch the space bar the tourney clock starts or pauses.  But, when I use extended screen and put the tourney screen on the extended screen I can't use the space bar to start and stop the clock, only via the control screen can I pause or start clock.

In fact, I can't even click on the mini-clock on the extended screen, or right click on the turney screen to get those context menus.

Feeling I have some setting box checked incorrectly.

While I am at extended screen questions.  If I send the tourney screen to the extended screen (so I can use the control screen on my laptop so it is hidden from players), then I can't see the tourney screen on my laptop  (the "main" display, or display 1).  Kind of a problem because then I have to swivel my head to find a monitor that is showing tourney screen so I can see what is going on there.

Help Me / player movement screen automatically appears
« on: December 05, 2017, 11:17:44 AM »
How do I not get the player movement screen to show up after automatic player movement.  I have the box unchecked in preferences behavior that says "show player movement dialog box after automatic seating", but I don't think that is the correct place to fix this (and the player movement screen is showing up when I autoseat).

Suggestions / text control for <chips> token
« on: November 28, 2017, 10:08:41 AM »
Currently it seems the <chips> token holds control of the font for the chip value in the token itself. (unless I am missing something)

Wondering if that couldn't be left to the global properties or font properties in the layout screen for the cell properties rather than the token.  Seems harder to match fonts working through the token.

Help Me / can't get TD to set random dealer button
« on: November 26, 2017, 10:04:40 PM »
Not sure what I am doing wrong or what preference I might have set somewhere, but I can't get TD to set the dealer button randomly.

I know it used to work for me in V2.x

I am not testing a tourney with 2 tables and first it would only set a dealer button on table 1, then I manually set a dealer button on table 2 and then tried to randomly set dealer button but they wont' move.

any thoughts on likely user error/?

Help Me / layout help needed - border showing up around image
« on: February 18, 2010, 02:54:24 PM »
Its been a while since I have posted on the forum.  I am using the most recent version of TD (not the 2.6 beta)

Doing a new layout and having an issue with it - although minimally different from my standard layout that I made up.

In my standard layout I just have 2 columns of cells in one row.  The new layout I simply added a row with a single cell (an image) above the other 2 columns.

So the image is 1024 x 122.

There is black space (background color) on top of and on bottom of this image filling the entire row.  It is symetrical, about 10 pixels in height.

I have no padding in either this row or the row below (nor for any column or any cells).  I also have no borders for any cells.

for the top cell (row), I am not specifying any height or width of the image (left at zero's).  Since my monitors are set at resolution of 1024 x 768 I figured I would just let the software auto-fill the image into that cell space.

Any thoughts as to where this black border on top and bottom of image is (none on sides).

Help Me / symbols in prize text
« on: February 19, 2008, 09:50:17 PM »
I am looking to put the male symbol (circle/arrow) and female symbol (circle/dagger) into the prize display line

as in 1st male out and 1st female out.

Anyway to do this?  It doesn't seem to take html code in those lines (to insert symbol codes).

Suggestions / Event Name/Title
« on: January 16, 2008, 04:36:00 PM »
O.K., Maybe I am dreaming, but was "Event Name" as a Game Tab field always called "Event Name" or was it ever called "Title".

The reason I ask, is that there is no token that is called "Event Name", but there is one called "Title" and the title token really refers back to event name.  Title is a standard tool box cell I think and it seems odd that it refers to event name, but you wouldn't know that if you didn't "know that".  :o

So, who cares you might rightly ask.  ::)

Well, I was about to make a suggestion that would put the file name or "Path" column from the INFO dialog box of the stats filter closer to the "status" column.  The reason being that the only real identifier I have for any of my tournaments is in the file name (I don't want to change the event name for each tourney because then that is just another thing I need to modify when starting a new tourney and I prefer to just use my standard template and give a new name with a date identifier in the file name when I "save as").

So, since I just use the file name for an identifier, when I am trying to sort through the stats info dialog box I can't very readily see which tourneys are filtered and what their status is because the Path column is so far away from "status" and "filtered" column. (tough to follow along the rows way over to the right that I have to scroll over too, then losing sight of which tourneys are completed and filtered).

I see that if I changed the event name for each tourney, then that would work, but again, I would prefer not to change something for each tourney if possible.

I have always used the name of my poker room as the "event name" and wonder why I would have done that, unless way back that field used to be called "title" and used the token of "title" that I then used in my layout to post my poker room name on the layout.

I guess my main suggestion is . . . . would it be possible to move the "path" column closer to the left hand side of the stats info dialog box?  A reasonable problem that this will bring up is that file path names tend to be very long, so that column takes up a lot of space and other columns will shift way over to the right.

Any thoughts on this or other things I should consider so that when I am filtering tourneys I can easily see which ones are loaded and which ones aren't??

Best bet is probably just for me to add a date or similar identifier to the Event Name field for each tourney and then this will show up in about the 4th or 5th column in that info dialog box and I can more easily see across the row which tourneys are loaded/complete and which are filtered.

Help Me / display time until the end of a particular round?
« on: January 08, 2008, 03:38:44 AM »
I have added a <rebuytimeleft> token to my layout, but it ends up being a bit confusing because I have a short 5-minute break right after the round when rebuys /add-ons are no longer allowed.

Since the <rebuytimeleft> token displays the time until the start of the next round it also includes that break time and, it throws some people off because the game clock will show say 15 minutes until the end of round 4, but the <rebuytimeleft> token will say 20 minutes.

I understand that the end of the rebuy really occurs at the start of the next round and it makes sense for that token to display it this way, it doesn't quite work for my tourneys, because I have a chip count criteria for whether or not someone can add-on (must have below a certain number of chips).  So, players need to know when they need to coordinate last plays in order to be over/under that chip count.

by seeing the extra 5 minutes on the rebuytimeleft token, it throws them off some.

Any way to display the time till the end of a specific round that I could include instead of the <rebuytimeleft> token?

Suggestions / dealer button on seating chart token
« on: January 08, 2008, 03:29:44 AM »
Would it be possible to include the dealer button placement on the seating chart token (maybe this was done for 2.5, but I don't have the beta loaded right now)?

I use it in one of my pre-tourney screens, although I guess I could just use the seating chart page which includes this detail as one of my pre-tourney screen sets as a workaround.  That mght work just as well, but a thought anyway.

Suggestions / rebuy confirmation after rebuy period
« on: December 21, 2007, 09:44:47 PM »
Would it be possible (is it possible?) to have the option to not display the dialog box that pops up after you bust someone out when the rebuy period is over?  The one that asks if you want to override the end of the rebuy period?

Maybe it is great to have that, because I could see making a mistake and forgetiting that someone could have a rebuy coming (clock moved into next round before you got rebuys taken care of ).

But, during a tourney, that message in the dialog box seems to confuse the heck out of me each time - do I click "no" or "yes", I keep thinking the message says, "are you sure you want to bust this player out", but I really have to say "no" I don't have to override the end of the rebuy period.

Mostly, I just don't want to deal with that dialog box.

Not a big deal, but I have hit the wrong button a couple of times during a tourney and needed to backtrack.

Help Me / Cell spacing
« on: December 11, 2007, 01:20:57 PM »
I think this has been asked before, but I can't find the post.

Trying to figure out what controls the vertical spacing within a cell.

I have a column of cells (Next Break, Avg Stack, Next Blinds, Prizes) and particularly for the prizes cell there is a lot of extra space taken up above and below the listed prizes that is blank.  I would prefer to shrink the cell down closer to the prize listings (but I don't want to use a fixed cell size because # of prizes fluctuates from tourney to tourney).

I have the padding for the cell at "0", so not sure what I am doing wrong here.

A picture of the column is attached.  The spacing of the prize listings is actually centered, but when I took a snapshot of the column I cut off the bottom bit, so the spacing is really symetrical around the prize list with a good empty chunk on the top and botton.

Any thoughts out there?

I know that the cell spacing varies to fill the column depending on contents (more prizes will squoosh the top cells a bit), but what I am just looking to do is have the prizes cell take up a little less space without decreasing the font size.

Suggestions / stats filter consideration
« on: December 05, 2007, 09:19:18 PM »
In reviewing some tourneys this evening I was thinking how I am always figuring out a filter to select specific tournaments.

In Many cases it is easy because I just select a league and a time period and its done.  I like this functionality.

But sometimes I think it would be nice if I could just see a list of available tourneys and have a checkbox that I could click on to select specific tourneys to do stats on.

Filter does everything I need, its just a thought of a different way to choose tourneys.

Help Me / TD error reports?
« on: November 18, 2007, 09:37:46 PM »
I was in the middle of a tourney last night and I got an error message from TD.

Box came up after I tried to knock someone out.  I am not sure what the error message sent.  Some rather long thing of "an error has occurred . . . blah blah blah . . . TD will try to recover from the error.  Please send this error to TD".

Well, I am in the middle of a tourney and just trying to get back to the game, so I hit "ok" and TD comes back with no apparent problems.  I just don't remember what the error message was or exactly what was going on when it happened (as I mentioned, pretty sure I was knocking someone out and then rebuying that person in).

probably no error message archive anywhere in my system that I could dig up to send in?  Tourney finished without any subsequent problems.

Still running most current version of TD, but on a Win98 old laptop (ouch).
