Tournament Director, as in a Person who runs and officiates the event... not the software :)

We have strict rules about levels of inebriation.

Very little trouble with non-playing patrons, we left one venue because it was a bit rowdy.

We play in nice places with a good clientele.

There is no law against playing poker, as long as you don't have to pay to play.

Thanks Hemi.

Phaze, Yes the venues pay us as entertainment... like a band or Karaoke.

We run two tournaments each night and bring about 30-50 people out for about 5 hours ;)

No cover, no charge at all to play poker.

We use the money to pay for equipment, little daily prizes, a Tournament Director for each event and of course the Grand Prizes.

Hemi, was/is one of our very talented Tournament Directors.

We give away tournament seats and a nights lodging.
The hotels cut us a good rate on the rooms :)

We have also filmed six of our final events and aired them on local TV, I need to digitize these and load them on the web.
We also brought in Linda Johnson in 2006 to host one of our finals, she is one of the finest ambassadors for poker there is.

Anything I can help with, let me know.

Excellent, I was thinking something was wrong on my end.

Yes I am positive.

I have just reset it again.

It is not saving my Column Name changes.

It is not functioning in that manner currently, this is something new with 2.5.

I have reset it to my setup three times this week.

This is from last night. (Correct Setup)

This is tonight. (Default Column Names)

Check it out.

I think with a Stats Template this could be manageable.

A Stat run using this could list only the Name and then the places.

Not for your everyday stats, but a good archive tool.

Corey, the program is not "remembering" Column Names on the Stats page.

I load a saved tournament that I had changed column names. Once reloaded it has the default Column Names.

Suggestions / Tournament Bracket
« on: March 13, 2008, 12:28:29 AM »
As March is upon us and the Basketball Tournaments are in full swing... I wanted to throw a new pony into the ring.

Heads-up matches, in the TD, using seeds based on a set of stats.

* Create a tournament
* Buy-in Players
* Run a stat set
* Create a Heads-Up Seating Chart (Tournament Bracket) with the seeding based on a stat (Rank, Score, Whatever)

The guys over at Foosball Heaven have some really nice brackets which I have been printing and using. This file (PDF FILE) shows the ranked seeding scheme... 1 vs 32 - 16 vs 17. It also shows about the moving of people to the losers bracket and the good shuffle of players to insure proper matches for the whole bracket.

As it is now when I do a Heads-Up Tourney, I create a bunch of 2 player tables in the TD and do a random seat.. then fill in my brackets on paper. This method is fine, but it would be nice to allow the stat power of the TD to create a "Ranked/Seeded" Seating format.

Basically asking if it is possible tp allow for creation of a non-random seating chart based on a current stat set.

Thanks as always for listening to us for suggestions and wild ideas.

I vote in favor of this pony :)

Have it configurable to allow for all finishes... or maybe limit it to 1st - 50th.

The Software already tracks the info, let's put it in play ;)

Something else I noticed, again not crucial to game play, but when I go to the New Player Dialog on the Player Tab... the league is set at "none".

In the past I thought it would default to the last thing used. I never used to have to change this.

I am using <numberofrankedprizes>... am I using the wrong variable?

We play for points, but sometimes I give away other prizes to the top finishers.

Lets say I give first place a fixed prize of $50 in addition to the points.
On the main screen it shows 19 in the points, although only 18 are... It is counting 1st place prizes as two.

Not a big deal, but it caused some confusion over the weekend.

Has this come up in the past?

Is there another variable or a way to not count additional prizes for the same rank?

Tandem I have been using it twice a day since it came out.

No hitches.

It is ready for release but Corey has to finish the manual.

I would say load it up :) I think the table tab additions really round out the beta and the dual screen function.

Well as it goes along it gets slower and slower.

Last night I did 382, the longest wait is once it is done.
The wait for the final numbers is about 10 minutes for 110 tournaments.

In December I crunched about 700 of them and it took over a day to run them and have it spit them out ;) I think the version of TD I was using then was a little slower than the current version. I recall at some point last year the stats slowing down considerably.

The stats that the TD tracks is IMO one of the strongest features... I am a baseball nerd from wayback... I love the stats.

But I will track the times as I run them this weekend and let you know.

The specs on this "cheap" laptop are as follows...
AMD Mobile Sempron 3000+ / 1.8 GHz with 256 MB

I need to get the TD running on a desktop again.
