Title: Seat Tickets
Post by: Stuart Murray on March 25, 2011, 06:49:30 AM
Hi Corey,

A wee suggestion, would it be possible to add a function to print 'place tickets' for each seat which could be printed off onto receipt roll at around 2" length or so, with table number, seat number and name?

It would be very handy for a lot of events if these could be printed off in the same manner as tables can be printed off atm

Do you mean a process separate from receipts?  (You do know you can put table & seat on the receipt, right?)

And I don't know what "receipt roll at around 2" length or so" is, to be honest.  Don't forget, the TD can really only utilize the print capabilities of Internet Explorer.  So it would be up to your printer driver to "do the right thing", as far as printing to a non-standard printer (a receipt or label printer, for example).

Hi Stu,

Have a look at the following link, it demonstrates some seat tickets that I've been using. Is this basically what you have in mind? (although my receipt printer does not spool).

Note, it takes a couple minutes in the video before I get to the seat ticket, I show my basement poker setup and some other stuff too.

I have a bit more trouble shooting to complete before the system is perfect. My printer is capable of printing MUCH faster.... I may just need to find the correct driver or something.

Anyway, let me know if this would work for you.....

Hi Corey/Brian,

I understand now the issues being faced.

Brian, yeh exactly what you are doing but - you are printing those off during registration as receipts, I issue receipts for registration and then I print off the draws once registration closes as you can't seat players during registration for a true random draw when you don't know how many tables there shall be/

I currently use the export feature to export a seating plan of each table, but for the purposes of casinos etc it would be great if I could export the seating draw one seat at a time.

So what would it be?  An export/print option that just prints each person's seating assignment?

Hi again Corey,

It would be an export/print function on tables/controls tab that would print each players name and seating assignment yeh;

<lastname>, <firstname>

<date>, <time>

This would still print as a 6" page though on a receipt printer, could REALLY do with an overhaul of the print function, for example excel manages very well spooling directly to a receipt printer, if the print function was overhauled to receipts and place tickets, it would be a major obstacle overcome.

If for example the Receipts and Place Tickets spooled direct, but other export functions were dialogued so they could be printed on a full size printer it would be nailed.

Unfortunately the TD is limited to the "print" functionality within Internet Explorer.  The only way around it is to install a print plug-in (Active-X control) in Internet Explorer, and I'm not a big fan of this type of functionality.  Not to mention is far outside of my area of expertise.
