Common function buttons on layout
« on: August 16, 2007, 08:55:17 AM »
I've been seeing on various layouts (typically on the Main screen)some common function buttons like add/remove players, bust out player, next round, etc.

Here are some questions I have:

1. How do I set up these buttons?
2. Can I apply these buttons to any layout easily without having to create the buttons from scratch for each layout?
3. Question/Suggestion for Corey - Can you or do you plan on making this a standard option in a future version.  If that's possible, as a suggestion, you could create an option to turn this on or off in the settings.  Also you could also have a related option to this where a person could designate what layout screens these same buttons would be displayed.  What do you think?  Or, you could just create a "Function Buttons or Buttons" tab with various buttons that would be available that are already pre-configured and could allow a user to determine what screens and where the buttons would be displayed.  Just my 2 cents.  Thanks!

I apologize in advance if this has already been posted (I did try to find any posts related to this and didn't have any luck).

The buttons are very easy to include, once you get over the learning curve of modifying a layout.  It's not as easy as clicking a "Include buttons" checkbox...

The best suggestion I can give you is to look through the Layout section of the user manual.  There is also a layout included with the software that has buttons.  You can load this layout and do a little investigation to see how the buttons were placed on the screen.

In the included layout, the buttons are all located in one cell called "Controls".  That makes it easy to add the buttons to any screen in the layout just by adding the Controls cell to the screen.
