General Discussion / TD with IE9 Beta
« on: September 24, 2010, 11:38:09 AM »
Just want to look at IE9 (Microsoft's new browser) and use it with TD.

What I found is that using IE9 is not quite compatible at this point.

I am using the following

Windows 7 Ultimate
IE 9

What I found is that everything loads up quickly and runs just fine, but for some reason the screen just keeps blinking. I compare it to a refresh that happens every 3-5 seconds.

Like I said I wanted to see if it would work and I have decided to remove 9 and go back to 8. I must say though on a personal note I like IE9 a ton more than any other browser I have used. It has some very nice slick programming in it that makes it faster as well as uses less resources. Microsoft did their homework on this one.

Suggestions / I think this would be a great addition......
« on: September 11, 2010, 08:56:07 AM »
I am not really sure if this suggestion has been brought up, but I will pitch it anyway.

As the director of a tournament/league it is very time consuming to try and calculate how many will be attending the scheduled events. As it is now I use Texas Rank em to try and track who is in but this is time consuming.

Here is my suggestion, since I have everyone in my Tournament Director database with their emails, I would like to pitch the idea of being able to

1. Announce the tournament via email from the database in TD. I would click on a button the email all players in database announcing the tournament
2. Once the email is sent have a yes or no button on the email for the recipients to reply to.

This would save a ton of time as well as in my humble opinion add even more uniqueness to an already GREAT program.

It would save time in that when I deal with 70+ players in a tournament, if they were to get the announcement announcing the tournament via the program with a yes or no clickable response, I could have all the yes' in the tournament before hand and would just need to collect the monies and off to dealing the cards we go.

« on: February 28, 2010, 01:36:20 PM »
This is my first attempt at a template so please be kind.

I have included everything you would need in the zip as well as all the sound files and templates we use for events. There is a bunch of sound files as well as the template as to how we use them.

The zip file will be in the next post as a reply to this one

Help Me / Script Debugging Error
« on: February 07, 2010, 01:19:46 PM »
Not sure if this has been posted before or not but I will explain what is happening. First off my equipment

Windows 7 Professional
TD Version: 2.5.10
IE 8.0.760.16385
Screen Saver Off
Sleep Off
Monitor turn off - off
tasks running - everything shut off including virus protection & windows defender

Ok here's the problem I have been experiencing:

We play a monthly tournament that (yesterday) had

48 players
15 rounds it lasted
5:18 minutes to complete

The last couple of tournament just after around the 10th rounds when the program is running for no reason or players go to hit the X to bust out I am seeing script debugging errors on a popup asking if I want to debug it Yes or No.

I hit yes and then nothing works including hitting escape, taking the mouse and trying to use any controls on the bottom of the screen, the clock runs but shows it as being locked up, and so on. I usually have to close the software out and then restart the program and it will work until the next event such as bust out and then it starts with the debugging error.

As soon as it clears to the next round or gets down to say 5 players it (TD) will work fine.

Sorry about not looking at the details of the debugging error, but in the next day or two I will try to duplicate it for you and post in here.

Any ideas based on what I posted here?

I posted this in the event anyone wanted to know.

General Discussion / Could I ask for help please with formulas
« on: February 24, 2009, 05:26:56 PM »
Currently our league has used the formula N-R+1 as a point system with an additional 5 points for the buyin. Because the winner is only receiving 1 point more than second place we are now switching so that the winner of the tournament gets 5 bonus points in addition to the N-R+1.

Here is what I am trying to explain:

48 player tournament

53 points for winner
52 points for second and so on.

Now under the same senerio we would like it to be as follows:

48 player tournament

58 points for the winner
52 point for second and so on.

I thank you in advance for any help you may give. There is no great hurry as we play again on March 7, 2009.

General Discussion / New Online Stats For Website Program
« on: February 20, 2009, 10:04:22 PM »
I purchased Rankem Software and started using it on my site at http://www.manpokerclub.com/

The software is not ready to import TD yet but I have been working with the developer and he is working to import all TD stats. As it is right now I have edited the scoring formula so that the results I put in represent N-R +1. Easy to do and will help anyone who wants it.

You can see for yourself what it displays by going to http://www.manpokerclub.com/rankem/default.asp and using the following for a login and password:

Login: manpoker@manpoker.xxx
Password: allin

All lower case

You will see actual results from our monthly tournaments.

This software is the nutz and is only getting better so after you look at my site you can check out the software at http://www.texasrankem.com/
