Help Me / Re: Bust out mistake
« on: March 28, 2007, 12:03:01 PM »
You can undo a bust-out in a number of ways.  The standard way is to press the Undo Bust-out hotkey, which is by default assigned to S.  The second way is to right-click on a player's name where ever they may be listed on the Tournament page or the Player Rankings page, and select Undo Bust-out.  Finally, you can edit a player on the Players tab, and right-click an action in the Tournament History section and undo the action from there.

Notice that the default hotkeys for the "main" actions (bust-out, rebuy, add-on) are all located on the bottom row of the keyboard: X for bust-out, V for rebuy, and B for add-on.  The corresponding undo action for each of these is located directly above each key.  S for undo bust-out, F for undo rebuy, and G for undo add-on.

Help Me / Re: Printing
« on: March 28, 2007, 07:28:29 AM »
What programs do you have that actually print using the "Print Screen" button (which is what I assume you meant)?

5540
Since the program is already installed and registered, just download the program from the Tournament Director website (http://www.thetournamentdirector.net/download.html) and reinstall it.  It will not require you to re-enter your license information.

5541
C:\Program Files\The Tournament Director 2\templates\StatsExport.html

If you can't find it, you can install the program again.  Don't uninstall, just install again to the same location.  This will re-install all templates, and it won't overwrite your database, saved tournaments, or preferences.

Are you certain the file it says is missing actually exists?  Maybe it was deleted somehow.

Can you export the Stats to your hard drive, or do you get the same error?

Help Me / Re: Non-League players playing in League games
« on: March 26, 2007, 10:16:58 AM »
No, you're not missing anything.  The software does not distinguish between "league" and "non-league" players.  It only makes a small distinction between "database" and "non-database" players.

I think you'll need to do what you want manually, but you can still do it within the confines of the program.  That is, you can make the necessary changes within the tournament itself so that players receive the correct prizes and points.  The bonus to doing that is that Stats will be correctly accumulated as well.

Edit the player(s) on the Players tab.  There are fields for adjusting the player's points and cash received.  Those inputs accept negative amounts, so if, as in your example, the 2nd place finisher was a non-league player, set the "adjust points by" field to "-273".  Then set the same field to "273" for the next league finisher.

Help Me / Re: Chip counts for championship
« on: March 26, 2007, 10:10:21 AM »
The TD software was never really meant to keep track of each player's "current" chip count, since this would require constant updating as hands were played during a tournament.  But several users wanted the ability to display the current chip counts periodically throughout a tournament, such as during scheduled breaks.  So the ability to set a player's current chip count was added, and this can be displayed via various tokens, such as <seatingchart> and <chipleaders>.

Later, the ability to automatically keep a player's current chip count updated was added (there's a preference to do this).  This is a simple mechanism whereby the chip count is incremented when a player buys-in, adds-on, or rebuys, and is zeroed out when a player busts out.  Obviously, a player's chip count will fluctuate while in the tournament, so you would have to continually adjust each player's chip count to keep it accurate, and this isn't really meant to happen.

What the TD does keep accurate track of is how many chips each player receives for each buy-in, add-on, and rebuy.  Therefore, it has an accurate count of how many total chips are in play.

What you see in the "chip count" cell on the Tournament page is this total chip count.  This is not totaled from each player's current chip count, but rather from the chips received for every buy-in, add-on, and rebuy.

Therefore, you need to make sure that when you buy-in each player, you set the "Chips" value that they receive for the buy-in to the appropriate amount.  If you have the preference "Automatically update players' chip counts" checked, then the Chip Counts values will automatically be set as well.

Templates, Layouts and Sounds / Re: Bust Out Sound Randomization
« on: March 25, 2007, 06:25:09 PM »
Nope, that's as random as it gets.  Actually, to do something like what you are requesting would actually reduce randomness, but that's probably really what you would like anyway.  For example: randomly pick a sound from this list, but don't play any sound more than x number of times until each sound as been played at least y number of times.  I'll consider adding a setting along these lines, but this gets close to that "too complicated" line, where too many options and features makes the program that much harder to use.  (Unfortunately, I think the program is probably there already.)

General Discussion / Re: Quick Question
« on: March 21, 2007, 10:11:38 AM »
That's it, that's what I was trying to describe.  When the TD is checking which screen set should be used, it runs from top-to-bottom, checking the conditions of each screen set.  It omits the "default" screen set, because it will be used if no screen sets match the current tournament conditions.

I imagine in your case, your "rounds" screen set was being selected because even after the tournament is over, the round number is still whatever round number it was when the tournament ended.  So when the TD runs "down" through the list, the "rounds" screen set still matches the current conditions and it is therefore displayed.  The "end of game" screen set's conditions are never even checked because a matching screen set was found before ever reaching it.

Help Me / Re: Grand Final Points And Pot
« on: March 21, 2007, 10:04:25 AM »
If you wanted the TD to keep track of your "drink money", you could create a separate rake to track drinks.  Then when a player buys a drink, update the player's initial buy-in, adding the drink cost to the buy-in amount and adding the same amount to the "drink rake".

When you run stats, the drink rake should tell you how much was spent on drinks throughout the season.

As violator noted, when you play the final, add the main rake and drink rake together and place it in the House Contribution field.  You'll still have to set the chip amounts for each player manually.

If you've created a screen set with only the Player Rankings screen in it, and set the conditions of that screen set to display after the tournament is over, but are still seeing a different screen, then what is most likely happening is a screen set listed earlier in the list is matching conditions and being selected.  The *first* screen set that matches the conditions will be the set used.  So, move your "after tournament" screen set up in the list.

Help Me / Re: Start Time
« on: March 20, 2007, 11:39:16 AM »
Change it to what?  The times are calculated from your level durations.  If you change level 1 from 10 minutes to 20 minutes, level 2 start time will automatically change to "0:20", and all subsequent levels will change, too.

The point is to be able to look and see, for example, that round 6 (with a Start Time of 1:00) should start 1 hour after the tournament begins.  Are you just trying to put in a real time for the start of the tournament to see *actual* times?
