Templates, Layouts and Sounds / Avengers Assemble Layout
« on: June 23, 2019, 10:42:58 PM »
Been away for a while and hosting a poker night in a couple weeks. Played around with the latest version to create a new tournament screen. Figured on going with an Avengers theme. Got some wav files from the movies and found an Avengers font online.
This one was fun and I am planning on working on some other theme nights as time permits. Corey, I used the site heavily after Hurricane Katrina in 2005 and 2006 when i first found this software. Happy to see that 14 years later, the community is still active and you are putting out a quality product.

If you really want something in this life you have to work for it. Now quiet, they're about to announce the numbers...

Templates, Layouts and Sounds / Wall Paper used for Backgrounds
« on: December 13, 2009, 10:48:54 AM »
I have been off the home poker circuit since March. I updated Tournament Director for our annual Christmas Event and was trying to put something together for the background that was festive and everyone else may be very award of this but downloading a wallpaper the size of your screeen creates some easily modified theme backgrounds while keeping your cells in place. I know most of you are aware of this, but I just found it and it sent me on a search looking for backgrounds. During that search, found many for Christmas but also found the one that will be our standard background.

The weblink is www.blirk.net (they have all types of free wallpapers). The one that really caught my attention is attached if it fits. If not go to the website and look under 3D and then look under link words at top of page and pick death. Skeleton image holding A's over 8's. It is really sharp.

Hope everyone has a good holiday season and Corey, after not using the software for a while, I enjoyed the upgrades.

Help Me / Re: Point system not calculated correctly

You can also look in your players tab for the completed tournament and see if your results are correct there. We do two games a night, so I always double check stats for individual tournaments before in the Players tab before they get combined in the Stats Tab...

We play a fast game w/15 minute blinds starting at $25/50 and finishing at $8,000/$16,000 if it gets that high. We start with 6,000 in chips if there are 10 players all the way up to 22 (our maximum amount).

The chip set can be set up in the tournament director under Chips Tab...

Attached is blind schedule and chips counts.

Beta Testing / Template for screen layout...
« on: July 29, 2006, 08:04:23 AM »
Do not know if this helps anyone but used excel to create a main page template based on the dimensions for the laptop I am using. With the capability of the update to create backgrounds for cells and columns, I find it easier to create the images in the correct size. This lead me to creating an exact cell size for all cells.

Do not know if anyone else can use this or not but figured I would throw it it out there.

Beta Testing / Re: Stat screen Bug
« on: July 26, 2006, 10:20:03 PM »
Played around with backgrounds in a lot of cells and it did not slow down the clock. I did get a script error when I tried to use the HTML styles. I emailed you the error file. Occurred when trying to do a cell and a column.

I like the ability to add backgrounds to the various cells, etc...that is a very nice feature....

Help Me / Re: Hitmen when there are Rebuys

We don't have re-buys. When you are gone, you are gone. Still believe that when you knock someone out, you have removed that amount of chips from play (in essence one player). As far as gambling and knocking someone out, during the course of the evening there will be many races that boil down to getting your money in with hopefully the best hand and odds.

Help Me / Re: Points only bounties

Corey:

That looks good. Would also like to see an export of the individual stat page. Would be nice to post on-line or put into emails when someone asks for their history. On that page it has how many 1st, 4th, 10th's, etc....

Suggestions / Re: New Tournament Director Features
« on: July 24, 2006, 05:31:04 PM »
We have had the multiple put out occur several times over the last several months (had it happen twice this past weekend). We have decided to give the hit credit to the person with the higher chip stack in the event of multiple players knocking out a single player. Eveyone is okay with that and has been added to our rules.

Seems like an easier fix than Corey having to mess around with the code. Just my 2 cents...

IMO a re-buy is no different than someone starting a game from the beginning. The player has to be beaten and in this case twice. Each time he is beaten, everyone moves a little closer to victory. I have been in 55 player tournaments when completed, the winner has actually beaten a pool of 140 or more due to rebuys. Ultimately the winner has to beat everyone and a player should be credited for every person he knocks out.

Suggestions / Re: Seating people at different tables
« on: June 02, 2006, 04:16:31 PM »
We have three couples in our home game on any given weekend. The only seats not randomized for us are the dealers on each table, and they will get moved to their seats at the final table if they make it that far. We have found that it is not that big a deal (at least until they knock each other out)....
