Help Me / Re: Can you reset statistics?
« on: March 06, 2006, 09:51:27 AM »
You've answered your own question: you can filter the stats out by date, and the tournaments you filter out do not affect the stats.  You could also just delete the old tournament files.

Help Me / Re: Need Help with STATS section

On the stats page, are the tournaments actually being filtered?  Hit the "info" button on the side to see if the tourneys are being filtered through.

Is the place you're saying your files to listed on the preference page under the "Tournament file location" section?  Did you set up the filters to find games with no leagues or any leagues, because the difference matters.  Are the players saved in the database?  I think they have to be to get stats on the stats page, but I could be wrong.

The formula is n-r+1.  That's number of players minus rank plus 1 (so everyone gets at least one point).  There's also an option to the right of "Points for Playing" called "Points for hit." "Hit" means busting a player out of the tournament, so all you'd have to do is put "1" in that option.

Ya might try reading the help text within the program.  All of this is right there ;)

Help Me / Re: screen set help

Without having tested anything myself, I think you might need to have to "allow rebuys" and "allow addon" options set to yes, along with the "rebuy" and "add on period over" set to "yes."  It's logical: your tournament allowed rebuys and addons, and now that period is over.

Give that a shot.

Help Me / Re: Running tournaments with league and non league players
« on: February 25, 2006, 02:22:54 PM »
Hmm . . . other than setting up manual prizes in the prize tab and awarding them to specific players, I don't think it's possible to seperate out the non-league players and not assign them points using the "Points for Playing" option.  I know the "stats" tab can compile all the stats and filter out your non-leage players, but the tournaments will still give the non-leage players points, leaving you exactly with what you don't want.

Help Me / Re: Import Tournaments
« on: February 25, 2006, 10:21:25 AM »
I seem to have a problem running stats on my saved tourneys. For some reason the tourneys all load, but the total cost is incorrect. It doesn't seem to load all the buy-ins. What do I need to do for TD2 to load the total cost correctly?

Hmm.  How off is the total cost exactly?  Is every player missing games, or just some people?

;D Yihaaa!!! I tried and restarted the program and computer about 6 times and suddenly it worked! Thanks guys! Just need to know what size the image should be to fit the screen or is there a way of fitting it automatically?

/J

Well, what I did for mine ( http://www.oregonpokertour.com/OPTLayout.jpg ) was created an image in Photoshop with the same dementions as my screen and worked within that space.  It might not be ideal for jumping back and forth from one computer to another, if you only plan on using one laptop, doing that works just fine.

Just to make sure the problem isn't something simple, you do have the option at the bottom of the "Background" window that says "Override all background colors" checked, right?

Just, got to make sure of these things, ya know? ;)

Help Me / Re: Point Formula Help

Thanks again Tim,

How would I set it to add 2pts for each bounty collected. I also want to make sure that the players who wins the tourney get credit for their own bounty chip too.

would it be n-r+1+nh+nbK or n-r+1+nb+nbk

I think you're looking for: n-r+1 + (2 * (nb+nbk)) .  That's the ranking points, plus the number of bounties times two points per bounty.

Help Me / Re: Point Formula Help

Also is there a way to award points as follows.  If there are 10 players, 1st would get 10pts, 2nd = 9pts, 3rd= 8pts etc.

Well, to answer this question, the formula is n-r+1.  That'll give 1 point to last place, and 10 points to first (assuming a 10 player game).

If you want to give players 3 points for playing period, there is the "Points for buy-in" right above that.  I'm not completely sure what you're looking for though.

Suggestions / Re: Tournament Template
« on: February 18, 2006, 08:45:30 PM »
Also one thing I would do is after every tournament save the template as the date of that tournament.  This will aid in tracking the results over the long run.

This really is more of a must than a suggestion if you're running a league.  If you ever need quick access to your tournaments, this is the best thing to do.

Under the Layout tab, there's a button labled "Screen Sets."  It's the first one under the "Other Controls" group.

Yes, as long as you save each tournament as a different file.  On the Stats page, you can get an entire listing of the compiled stats for everyone in each tournament.  Just either use the "saves" directory for all of your tournaments, or you can set up your own directory, just be sure to go to the "Preference" tab and change the "Tournament File Locations" setting.  You can also set up multiple save directories if you for some reason keep tournament files peppered throughout your computer's hard drive.
