Will this new version allow you to re-sort your sound events by type?  This would list all the sounds for bust out together, etc.  Now they are only listed in the order which you add them.

Uhm, no, it won't.  There's no sorting of the sound events because.... well, I never thought about it I guess.

I was going over my sounds and replacing some of the 'less funny' ones and I realized it would be alot easier if you could see everything listed by type instead of by the order they were created.  I have MANY sound events.

With the receipts option.
How does that work?  ???

The help says I have to turn it on but when I buy a player into the tournament there is no option to print?

And I see there is a area to enter in Sales people but how does the program know who is selling what.

The Collapse order is great  ;D . Now when I run my big tournaments I don't have tables all over the place.

When you turn on the option to Issue receipts, receipt files will be created, in the chosen folder, using the chosen template.  Additionally, on each of the various buy-in, rebuy, add-on, undo buy-in, etc, dialogs, there will be a Salesperson drop-down list so you can select a salesperson.  This is actually a combo-box, meaning you can add a new person to the list directly without having to go back to the Preferences tab to do it.

If you have the Print receipts option checked, each time a receipt file is created, it is also sent to the printer.  The TD can't actually print, but it will pop-up the print dialog so you can print the receipt.

I keep meaning to go to casino calgary during a tourny to see what they've done with the program. Give me a private messege, CasinoCalgary, and lemme know when your tourny's are.

(I would have sent a pm myself, but not sure if he will read them)

Receipts

I found how to print. Problems that I found are:

1.  If you add a player to the tournament from the data base or a new player, you have to enter them, then once they are registered in the tournament then you have to right click on there name and then buy them in so it will print a receipt which is not easy for mass entry's.

2.  Will only allow to select Saleman when doing a refund. Selling entry's you must must enter in the name manually.

3.  When a Receipt is printed it has only the Logo, Salesmen, Receipt #, date, and amount. Would be a lot better if it had name and date of event and name of the player to prove who's receipt it is or has been refunded for in case of computer crashes so there is a back up. The receipt could be a lot smaller. Logo is nice but not really needed. I use a epson tm-t88III printer for my receipts. The printer is like one a bars and restaurants use for receipts for customers food.

Only other thing that would be great if it could be done is to have each salesman/Housemen have there own cash box. That would say how many entry's each Houseman has sold for that tournament. This way if a Housemen doesn't have the correct amount of cash for the entry's sold in there cash box, I know who to go after and what players may have not paid.

The changes that have been done to the program is great. I Already used it in my weekly tournament and had No problems.

- You don't have to right-click each player to buy them in.  You can press the Buy-in Players button (on the Players tab, or use the hotkey from the Tournament page) and select which players you want and buy them in all in one shot.  This will also issue receipts.  (It will also individually print the receipts - meaning opening the "Print" dialog - for each of the buy-ins, so be careful how many you do at once.)

- Not sure how you've come to this conclusion.  The "salesperson" input on each of the dialogs is identical.  So you can either select an existing person, or enter a new one on every dialog on which this input appears.  Let me know if this is not working properly for you.

- The receipt has a template file, which you can completely change to suit your own needs.  You can change the size, add your own logo(s), change the layout, whatever you want.  There are other fields that can be added that are not necessarily included in the default template, like the event name, and more extensive information on the particular player.  If you are in Track players mode (the default - meaning you are adding specific players to your tournament), the player's name is printed on the receipt.  You can update the template to add additional info, like address or email address or ID, if you want.  This is spelled out in the user manual.

I'll give the last suggestion a thought.  I'm not sure how far I think the software ought to go with the sales and receipts just yet.

I do not know how far you do actually want to go with TD as it is fabulous now, but now receipts are being printed, have you thought of assigning a barcode to a member and using a bluetooth scanner that is assigned to an individual floorwalker that auto updates rebuy/add-on etc upon scan, a system that is very popular over hear uses that method with upto 20 scanners being used at once in the same tourny. I understand the expense this would make TD to run, but sure if you could sell via online shop something like this, with all the TD's you have here, then it may be viable.

I like the Beta as always Corey...

Under "Add Players To Tournament", the new 'find' field is nice... however can you default the cursor to not be in the search box. Make me click in the search box to use it. (I see the 'Preference' to turn this feature off.)

Under "Tables"... is there a reason you removed 'set designation as final table' as an option?

Also, for some reason when I hit "suggest movement" for seating.. it tries to move people who are locked in seats.. I don't know why this is leaking in sometimes.

Would it be possible to add a toggle to a table that does not include it in the seating suggestion rountine?

Tournament Page
- Added a confirmation for "Next Round" and "Previous Round" actions... Can you make this a option we can toggle in "Preferences"? I appreciate the safety net... but let me turn it on & off please.

For the Search field, I pretty much took the approach of "if they turn it on, then they want to use it", so that's why the focus is placed there when the dialog opens.

The final table designation has been removed in favor of being able to specify table collapse order.  (In a sense, specifying a final table is just a subset of what you can now do.)  If you want to designate a final table, press the "Collapse Order" button and move the table into the right column (Collapse these tables last:).

The Seat Lock is not a "guaranteed" lock.  Locked players will be moved only after considering other players to move.  For example, if you have 2 tables of 10 seats, and get down to 5 players on each table, the TD will suggest moving them all to one table, even if every single player was locked in their seat.  But when given a choice, the TD will always choose unlocked players over locked players.

I think excluding a table from seating suggestion would probably break the whole balancing algorithm.  This is one of the reasons seating suggestions became "suggestions" - and are not enforced.

I'll add a preference for the round change confirmation - pretty easy to do.

Sounds good... lovin' the beta.

One idea, not really beta specific... how about some place on the "Game" tab where the name of the tourney is listed. In full screen mode I have no idea what tourney is loaded. :)

Thanks Corey

I tried to find space to put the filename, but given that the filename can potentially be just about any size, I couldn't find a reasonable place to put it (besides the window title bar).  You can also hover the mouse over the "Save" button to see the filename.  I'll see if I can come up with something before the next beta...

Thanks, we are enjoying the beta.  The ability to set table collapse order is a real winner.  ;D

One minor change, that I'm not sure was intentional is a bit of an issue for us.  In 2.2.2 after you hit the x to bust someone out and the list of players came up, you could type the first letter of the busted player's name and the list moved to that part of the alphabet.  That doesn't seem to work in the beta.  Some of our volunteers are computer challenged and they are unable to use the search function.

Also, a suggestion for the future.  I'm not sure if this is possible, but it would be nice if the program didn't go full screen until a layout was up.  That way when working on setup and the like, you would have access to the system clock and the programs on the task bar.  If this is not possible having a live clock on the setup pages would be nice.

Thanks again.

Tom

That was unintentional.  Click in one of the "Find" boxes on the page and then click elsewhere (ie, give focus to the Find input and then move focus somewhere else) and the "jump to" feature will work again.  I'll fix this for the next beta.  Hope to release it this evening.

You can also turn the search feature off on the "Preferences" tab.  If you don't use it, just turn it off.

The reason you must restart the app to go from full-screen to windowed, or vice-versa, is a limitation of Windows HTML applications.  Whichever mode the application starts in is the mode it must remain in.  Therefore, you've got to exit and restart just to go from full-screen to windowed.

I'll add the clock idea to the to-do list.  In the meantime, you might consider using the countdown feature.  That way you'll know exactly how much time remains until the tournament is supposed to start.  Just remember that the tournament will start automatically after the countdown..
