And why cant i write it easy ??

On any window with a table view where the rows have checkboxes, like the Buy-in Players window, or the Bust Players out window, or the Add-on Players or Rebuy Players window in your video, clicking anywhere on the highlighted line will toggle the checkbox.  This is a convenience feature.  That window is slightly different because it also has a numeric input for the Quantity, which is only enabled when the checkbox is checked.  So if the checkbox is not checked, the input is disabled and you can't select it or edit it.

The TD is coded specifically so that clicking within the input won't toggle the checkbox.  It would be very annoying if simply clicking in the input so that it has focus so you can change the quantity toggled the checkbox off, which in turn disabled the input.  But that is exactly what is happening in your video.

From what I can see technically, pressing your mouse button down on the input, then moving your mouse outside of the input but leaving it on the same row, and then releasing your mouse generates an event that amounts to a click on the row.  So the new framework is handling this type of action differently than the old one.  I'll have to investigate it a little further in order to see how to fix it.  Definitely a bug.

Thanks for posting this, and thanks for the video.  Video is very helpful in identifying an issue quickly.  Until I can fix it I suggest simply clicking in the input and using the DEL key to delete the current value, or double-clicking the value in the input to select it instead.

Great. Thx

Now i updated in the Club…. And it keeps cycling tru 3 Windows :

How do i disable that ?

This is the default behavior of certain layouts.  If you don't want it to cycle through the different screens, you can either use another layout, or just disable the screen cycling.  You can find instructions in this Tournament Director FAQ entry: https://www.thetournamentdirector.net/faq.html#faq25

But the relevant options are to either:

1. Lock the screen when the screen you wish to see is displayed. You can lock the screen by pressing Ctrl+L. Use Ctrl+L to unlock the screen after it has been locked.

or

2. Remove the additional screens from the layout's screen sets. On the Layout tab, press the Screen Sets button. On the Screen Sets dialog, delete all of the screen sets except for the Default screen set. Then, delete each screen from the Default screen set that you do not wish to be displayed.

I'm guessing you are referring to this preference:

This hasn't changed, and preferences are preserved on upgrade.  So this should not be any different after updating to 3.7.

So none of My Personal settings (forced back up and other “tricks” i have entered the last 4-5 years are being exported to the new version on install ?
Everyone who updates get a clean version ?

Preferences are preserved on upgrade.  Your saved tournaments, templates, player database, are all preserved.  Nothing should be "reset".  I'm not sure what you are referring to when you say "tricks".

Yep, there's a new rendering engine in version 3.7 and it will produce some slightly different results.  I tried to keep it as close as possible, but inevitably some layouts will have to change in order to remain visually the same as before.

From your screenshots it looks like you may have loaded a previously run tournament that was saved with an older version.  I would suggest, with that same tournament loaded, go to the layout tab and load one of the built-in layouts.  They have been updated to render more appropriately in the new version.  There will still be some minor differences, but it should look more like you expect.  Other tweaks can be applied to get closer to what you're probably used to.

A little bit of growing pains, but in the end it's worth it.  The new rendering engine is far better.  It's more accurate (based on web standards), faster, and supports a lot more features.

If you need some help getting back to the look and feel you want, please ask.

Version 3.7 was built on an entirely different framework, so the "upgrade" process (installing a new version is really all it is) doesn't overwrite the old version.  If you have version 3.4.3 (for example) and install version 3.7.2, you will have both versions installed.  You'll want to manually uninstall version 3.4.3 afterwards, or else run the risk of accidentally starting up the old version.  Because the new version looks very similar to the old version, many people won't even realize when they've done this.

Once you've upgraded to version 3.7 or later and gotten rid of any old version installed, upgrades will work the way you expect - installing a new version will replace the old version.  In fact, upgrading within the same major version (3.7 to 3.7.1 or 3.7.2, for example) will happen automatically.

The new version installs in the folder %localappdata%\Programs\TheTournamentDirector.

The Display Management feature was only necessary for one main reason: the TD could not switch between full-screen mode and window mode without restarting.  So if you start the TD in full-screen mode, there is no way for you to move the main full-screen window because there is no "window chrome" (the title bar that allows you to drag the window, or the thinner chrome around the other 3 sides of the window that allow you to resize the window).  Without the window chrome, you can't adjust the window size or position.  So the Display Management feature was originally intended to simply allow you to move the main, full-screen window and resize it if necessary.

Since version 3.7, that's no longer an issue.  With the Settings window closed, you can press F11 to toggle the main window back and forth between window mode and full-screen mode.  Need to move the main window to your secondary display?  Easy.  Close the Settings window, press F11 to toggle the main window into window mode, drag the window to the secondary display, press F11 again to toggle back into full-screen mode.

Because it's no longer necessary, I removed the feature entirely.  Since then I have heard from a few folks that they did enjoy some of the convenience features that were part of it, such as the ability to assign a hotkey to move your main window to your extended display.  So I will likely add some of those back in the next major version, in a form that makes the most sense now that the software can detect your displays and doesn't need the user to define them.

Help Me / Re: Multi-laptops - one purchase of software
« on: April 12, 2023, 10:37:38 PM »
Per the licensing agreement the software can only run a single tournament at a time.  If you want to run two tournaments at the same time, you will need to have two separate licenses.  Otherwise you'll be violating the licensing agreement.

Putting this on the list to revisit.  I feel like there was a reason you can't change the start time but I'll have to dig back into it to be sure.  If possible I'll add a way to do it, probably in the Adjust Rankings feature (since that's where you can adjust the bust-out times and correspondingly the tournament end time).

Help Me / Re: Define the final table?
« on: April 12, 2023, 10:34:14 PM »
Sorry, this has not been added.  To be honest it's a little out of the framework of the original design of the tables and seating management.  Specifically it would require changing the size of a table automatically when a certain number of players remain.  Certainly doable, the system just wasn't designed with this in mind.  I suppose there are a couple of options.  Changing a table's size (number of seats), making a seat available that was previously unavailable, or reserving a table.  All of which would currently require manual intervention.  Automating it would be the goal.  I'll put it on my list to look into with this perspective in mind, but I can't make any promises.

The only way to change the start time is to use the Time Shift feature, but that will change all times accordingly with your start time.  You'd have to manually edit the tournament file.  If it's important to do that, email me and I can do it for you.

I'm going to stick by that statement that "plenty of other software does it better" and qualify it with "better than I could do it".  But maybe what I have in my mind is not the same as what you have in yours.  What do you envision this feature to be?

It's easy to enable, just didn't think anyone would want it on those screens.  In the meantime, you can almost fake it.  Create a new cell, give it a name and the following Contents:

Code: [Select]
<div style="left: 0px; top: 0px; position: fixed; z-index: 999999; font-family: Segoe UI; color: #000; border: 1px solid #000; border-radius: 2px; padding: 4px; background: #fff;">
  <div style="position: relative;">
    <div>
      <div style="width: 131px; margin: auto; padding-bottom: 3px; text-align: center; white-space: nowrap; font-size: 19px;">Round <round></div>
      <div style="position: relative; margin: auto; padding-bottom: 3px; text-align: center; white-space: nowrap; font-size: 16pt;">
        <div style="width: 131px; margin: auto; padding-bottom: 3px; text-align: center; white-space: nowrap; font-size: 19px;"><hours>:<minutes>:<seconds></div>
      </div>
      <div hidefocus="true" style="padding: 3px; border: solid 1px transparent; border-radius: 2px; background: transparent; cursor: pointer; margin: auto; width: 90%; text-align: center; font-size: 16px;"<action src="click" type="Clock">>
        <i class="fas fa-play"></i>
      </div>
    </div>
  </div>
</div>

It will always display the round number, even on breaks, and it won't flash PAUSED when paused or show GAME OVER after the tournament, and the button always stays as the "Play" symbol (not the "Pause" symbol when running).  But it's functional.
