« on: September 28, 2011, 08:46:24 AM »
Hi Guys

I want to have a sound play about 30seconds before the tournament starts.  What conditions should I put into the Events box to have it do this?

Thanks in Advance

The template was saved with 2.6 beta 4.  You can't load it with an earlier version of the TD.

Ah my mistake I'm running 2.5.11.

Possibly just me but Tournament Director keeps giving me a "There was a problem loading the template" error message.  Can anyone help with this?

Help Me / Re: Alternates
« on: March 03, 2008, 07:05:08 PM »
A work around might be to get the tourney started and then add another table call it say "Alternate list" and make it the size of the number of alternates you have.  Then buy in and seat the alternates at that table in the order of which they are to be added.  I.e. 100seats available, 105 people show up, Alan was 101, Barry was 102, John was 103, Steve was 104 & Tim was 105.
Set up a new table called "Alternate list"
Add Alan (dont buy him in though)
Seat him at seat 1 on the alternate list table (drag and drop)
Add Barry (dont buy him in though)
Seat him at seat 2 on the alternate list table
etc

Now when a seat becomes available, you simply buy in alan and drag him to the table & seat which is open, you then still have your list of alternates.

I tried this just a minute ago and it does not affect the Average stack, total chips in play etc.

I hope this helps

Riffle & Box, are the way a deck of cards are shuffled, see here:
http://www.howtoshuffle.com/

Note he calls it stripping the deck, I call it boxing the deck, both mean the same thing, Like saying Full Boat, or Full House.

Help Me / Layout Set Up Question
« on: February 20, 2008, 12:22:17 PM »
Hello

I have a slight layout Problem.  I have 4 different "Page" for various stages during the tournament.  I have one which i use for the first 8 levels, it displays the usual things people left etc, I then have another one which is used for the next 3 levels which shows the prize pool and the same details.  After this i have a "Page" which no longer shows Next Break since there are no more breaks.  The final one is the same as number 3 but has the font size of the blinds reduced so that it can accommodate large values like 10000 / 20000 etc. without wrapping onto two lines.

The problem is that in order to accomplish this at the moment, I have to set up a "Screen Set" for each level so that it displays the correct "Page".  Is there anyway to set up a "screen set" so that it will run for Level 1-8 say.  I have tried doing it by other things but rebuys stop long before level 8 so that's not possible.  I can still do it with setting up a screen set for each level but to me it seems like a lot of wasted time

Thanks in Advance

Ian

I use rules very similar to Roberts Rules of Poker but with a slight modification.

For the turn and the river i do exactly as RRoP says but for the flop I do the following:
If 1card of the flop is exposed:
Place the other two flop cards face down on the table, burn a card, place the turn card face down on the table, burn a card and place the river card face down on the table.
Now take the remainder of the deck, and the exposed flop card and riffle, riffle, box, riffle, cut and deal the third flop card face down.  When appropriate turn over Flop, turn & river.
If 2 cards of the flop are exposed:
Place the other flop card face down on the table, burn a card, place the turn card face down on the table, burn a card and place the river card face down on the table.
Now take the remainder of the deck, and the exposed flop cards and riffle, riffle, box, riffle, cut and deal the second and third flop cards face down.  When appropriate turn over Flop, turn & river.
If 3 cards of the flop are exposed:
Burn a card, place the turn card face down on the table, burn a card and place the river card face down on the table.
Now take the remainder of the deck, and the exposed flop cards and riffle, riffle, box, riffle, cut and deal the three flop cards face down.  When appropriate turn over Flop, turn & river.

The reason for this, although its wordy, is that It keeps as much of the original board cards as possible.  In RRoP, when a mistake is made on the flop, the true turn and river cards are lost, where as this way the real turn and river cards play.
I have explained it to the dealers but its incredibly rare that it happens since the dealers are told to knock the table before exposing any cards.
In the rare event of it happening, players understand what we are trying to do as we explain it each step of the way, I have yet to have a complaint about it.

Help Me / "Ready to Start"/"Buy In Players To Start"
« on: September 28, 2007, 06:13:09 AM »
Hi

I was wondering is there a way to turn off the little square that flashes on the clock page before the tournament begins?  Just I like to have tournament details on the page, no of rebuys allowed, cost, stack etc and this flashing gets in the way.  Is it possible to turn it off? I've looked in the preferences and cant see anything but I may hae missed something.

Thanks in advance

Suggestions / Re: Receipts
« on: September 20, 2007, 02:58:27 AM »
Well assuming when you have a large number of players you have more help than just yourself, you could print out receipts and then print out seating arrangements afterwards and have 3 people handing them out to players i.e. Players with Surnames A-G go to Person A, Players with Surnames F- M go to Person B, and N-Z go to Person C to receive their seating assignment.

Sure its not the ideal arrangement but it does eliminate the need to collapse tables before the game even starts.

Hope this helps

Apparently they still use "the clock" however thats not the layout they use.

The layout they use is this:

But i cannot make out any details of what is being shown other than the actual "time remaining"

Hey Guys

This is my first post here so i hope I dont do too much wrong.

I have been watching a lot of the ESPN 2005-2007 WSOP coverage, and I really like the way they layout the clock on the screens.

I've been trying to see what exactly they show on the clock but I cannot find any good pictures of it on any on the main Photo Gallery sites (Poker Pages, Poker News, Card Player etc).

I was wondering does anyone know whats listed on it or have a clear image of the clock that I could Copy and create a layout for it in Tournament Director?

Thanks In Advance
Ian
