Templates, Layouts and Sounds / WPT Layout
« on: December 09, 2008, 09:21:23 AM »
Hi all,

I must first apologise for not having been around so much here lately. Due to various work and home commitments, I have been off the Poker scene for a while, but now with some new clays, a great piece of software and a newly installed Poker table, I'm hoping to get back into it, bigger and more enthusiastically than before!

Since we're planning on starting a new League, and using the TD to manage it, I would like to know if anyone should have any additional images of the clock that's used at the WPT. So far, I've only been able to find three views of the clock. I am looking to create something similar in TD (should be fairly straightforward, given the fact that most of the information looks as though it's stored in boxes and columns anyway), so any help in locating reference images for this purpose would certainly be welcomed. I will of course be sharing the file for download on here once I have been able to put it together. I am pretty certain that I should be able to put it together from the second picture, but of course more reference means we can get it as accurate as possible. I wonder if it would be possible for you guys to determine the fields and data that is shown on the clock?

Advanced thanks for any help you might be able to offer.

Best regards,

Ben

Thanks for your kind words guys. As I explained in the original post, that was just a quick prototype I had thrown together in Photoshop, but since it has received very good reactions here, I'll go on and make the TD file. Since Corey has indicated that Javascript is not supported, I think the clock may need changing to a standard 24-hour text version. However, I feel confident that the timer around the Spade should still work, but it will be an animated GIF.

One problem that I might face is making the various types of counter to accommodate every blind time, so if you require a special one in particular, it might be easier to request one from me.

Thanks again,
Ben

Hi Corey,

Thanks for the clarification. That certainly is a shame, but I can totally understand what you're saying.

Was having a bit of a play around on Photoshop earlier, and following on from my post about Javascript in tokens in the other Forum, here's the template I propose to create. I'd certainly welcome any thoughts or constructive criticism, be as harsh as you want / need :)

Thanks,
Ben

General Discussion / Do TD Tokens support Javascript?
« on: March 30, 2008, 04:09:54 PM »
Hi all, I don't know if anyone will be able to help, but I'm trying to make a template for TD which incorporates an analog clock. Since I know Javascript I was going to try and incorporate this into a token within TD, but I don't know whether or not the software allows <script> tags to be placed in the HTML snippet? I was also planning on making a visual countdown script, but again wondered whether TD supports this.

If anyone can help, I'd certainly be most willing to share the tokens and resulting template.

Thanks and keep up the great work,
Ben

General Discussion / Re: NexGen Chips

Well, I've made the move and purchased some Dunes chips. They should be here for the weekend, and if you'd like I can put together a review for everyone, to assist in the decision maybe?

Thanks for all the comments that people have offered on the subject though.

Ah, the Dice Chips. Those are actually available over here, and that's what I have at the moment. The reason I was looking to replace them potentially is the fact that to me, they sound a little metallic (probably because of the metal slug in the middle of them). I'm not sure what everyone else's thoughts are on the matter. Thanks for putting up the pictures, and also for your kind offer and willingness to send over some, along with Oreos! I will think long and hard about what I want to do about the whole chip conundrum.

Thanks for all of the help that everyone has given on the subject thus far, and once again for your kind offer Phaze.

I wonder whether or not you could shoot a few pics for me, and I could then try a few buddies I have in the States, and see if they'd be willing to pick up a case or two (like they did with Oreos a couple of months back ;))

You've got no Oreos over there?

They have started introducing them into certain supermarkets now, but they weren't available over here up until two or three weeks ago :(

Yes, I can appreciate that Corey; more of a novelty addition than anything else really.
Keep up the great work :)

Thanks for the various comments on this. I have been following various discussions over on ChipTalk, and have read a couple of reviews on HomePokerTourney too. I've been told that Dunes might be the way to go, and think that I may have found some in an affordable price range for me. I'm fresh out of uni, so you can appreciate that money is a little tight right now for the Paulsons. One thought I had was to try and get a maximum order together with some friends and order in bulk, but unfortunately, none of them seem willing to put their money where their mouth is, so to speak.

Phaze, the Walmart chips certainly sound interesting, but living in the UK they're a little difficult to track down unfortunately! I wonder whether or not you could shoot a few pics for me, and I could then try a few buddies I have in the States, and see if they'd be willing to pick up a case or two (like they did with Oreos a couple of months back ;))

Thanks for the comments and keep them coming!

I'm contemplating buying some more chips, to go with the new table I just bought. Due to the expense of the table, I can't really afford Paulsons right now (perhaps a couple of years down the line, when I have some more bankroll to play with!) I've heard from numerous players in the town where I live that the NexGen chips are a pretty good replacement, and a great deal less price wise.

I wonder whether or not anyone on here has tried out the NexGens, or perhaps could suggest a suitable, relatively low budget replacements for Paulsons? I am current;y using Dice Chips at the moment, and they have served me well, but my games are getting a little more professional now, with soem higher stakes, and I'd like to have some chips that aren't the same old!

Advanced thanks for any help on this!

Hi All,
I have been using TD for quite some time now, for managing both my home games and some charity and family games. For smaller home games, I wonder whether it would be a nice touch to allow the host to add an avatar or small display picture to a player, that could be displayed on the seating chart. This could potentially be used when the player is eliminated from the game, for example a large cross appears in a modal window or overlay in the TD play window.
Not too sure how complicated this will be, but just thought for smaller games it might be an idea (since for larger Casinos and card rooms this could be a little unmanageable).
Thanks, and keep up the really great work Corey!

Help Me / Re: Multiple Monitors

Sorry, I did mean to add that to my post, but it slipped my mind. I switched to DualView using nVidia options, and everything worked out OK :)

Thanks again for great software!

Help Me / Re: Multiple Monitors
« on: March 15, 2008, 01:09:27 PM »
Hi Phaze,

Thanks for the advice. I had originally tried DualView, but for some very odd reason, my nVidia drivers seem to put random lines across the projected image. However, having played around with the driver, I have managed to resolve the issue, and now I have the settings open in one window, and the actual game screen projected onto the wall. My sincere thanks for all of the advice that I have received on the matter.

Many thanks and kind regards,
Ben

Help Me / Re: Multiple Monitors
« on: March 15, 2008, 03:08:09 AM »
Hi and thanks for your thoughts.

Basically, the projector is simply a horizontal span of my main monitor using the Windows "Extend my desktop to this monitor" setting (since the nVidia Drivers I had installed meant using the same resolution on both monitors, which I didn't want to do). For some reason, manually moving the Game Window using the setting in TD doesn't show up on the extended screen (i.e. the projector), but dragging the settings window over does! It's a very confusing set up.

I hope this might help in the troubleshooting, and wish I could help myself, but I have tried everything I can think of.

Thanks,
Ben

Hi Tander, thanks for your reply.

I checked out the extended monitor options, and for some reason moving the main screen manually doesn't display on the projector (but moving the settings window does). Any help would be most greatly appreciated.

Thanks for your reply once again though,
Ben
