Suggestions / Re: Printing Change of Position
« on: February 29, 2008, 10:14:51 AM »
You can now show player moves on the main screen? That's awesome.

I do like the idea of printing out stubs for player moves. We currently do it manually on little slips of paper. If anyone wants me to u/l it (can I do that Corey?), I'd be happy to do so.

I like the idea of printing out stubs for player moves, since we currently do this manually. We usually do bounty tournaments so I have them write their name (and email address if they are a new player) and the name of the player that knocked them out. That makes it easy for us to track when players have been knocked out (we have had players get knocked out and not tell us) and the player delivering the TKO will make sure the player submits the stub because they want the bounty money. A very effective simple system with a built-in check. I'll be happy to u/l it (if Corey doesn't mind) if anyone would like to look at it.

We also use a seat stub for initial seat assignment. After everyone is paid, we have TD assign the seating and we call out the the names and give them a stub with their seat and a Ziploc baggie with their chips (doing this in advance saves a lot of time). There is no confusion and less player handholding (which is always my goal).

Hey no prob Finster.

I used downloadthemall! to get all the sound files except the one you have for startup. I looked at it and it still has a forward slash. Is that a config problem in the program you're using to dump the directories?

Corey is there an easier way to add a bunch of sounds linked to a single event? Maybe some sort of batch method would be nice.

Help Me / Re: Extra buy-in for late registration

I've been thinking about my own question and I think that I've come up with a solution. What I'm going to do is add the additional money collected for late registrants and add it to the home contribution and using that for an additional bounty or add to the pot. That way you don't have to alter the buy-in for any player.

The forward slashes make it impossible to download the files. A work around is to right-click a file and open it in a new tab (I use Firefox; in IE you would have to open it in a new window) and then change the forward slash in the address (which will show up as "%5C") and change it to a backslash. Very tedious, but it works. Could Finster post a fixed link or maybe add a zipped file with all the sounds (sorted by directory)?

BTW, if you use Firefox download an extension called Downloadthemall! (http://www.downthemall.net/). It allows you to download all linked files on a page (very handy for those sites with a lot of sound file because you don't have to manually click each file). You can even use filters to download only the files you want i.e. sound or video files.

Help Me / Extra buy-in for late registration
« on: August 28, 2006, 12:41:00 PM »
Hey all,

I'm planning a tourney in October and I'm really trying to get people to pay in advance to minimize the cash taken at the door. As such, we are planning to charge an additional buy-in for those late comers. What would be the best way to do this? I'm thinking my options are an additional rake at the door or increasing the buy-in that day. The additional buy-in would either go to the main pot or be added to a "later buy-in" increased bounty on someone's head.

Thanks!

Hi Corey,

I'd like to see the BB set itself to double the SB when I tab down.

I'm not sure I'm clear on your "slider" proposal. Are you suggesting that if I had several prizes, all based on percentages, and I moved the slider on one of the prizes to adjust the prize's percentage, that the other prizes would automatically adjust their respective percentages to keep the total percentage from going over/under 100?  Or do I just not get it?

Yes. The total percentage would remain at 100%.

Thanks for the tip regarding round advancement and the option for auto player movement.

As for the sliders, my proposal does incorporate the idea that increasing/decreasing the value of a prize will automatically alter the other prizes accordingly. This idea used with the ability to lock prizes would, as an example, allow you to set a locked value for first and then use the sliders to set the other prizes without manually typing in values. Just a thought.

Suggestions / Sliders for prizing
« on: August 21, 2006, 08:50:49 PM »
Just finished another tourney over the weekend and I have to say that TD kicks ass. Having used TD for a while now, I have some suggestions:

1. Sliders/arrows to configure prizing. I'd love to be able to use sliders or arrows to change prizing percentages or amounts. Also, I think it would be great if TD would tell me what a specific percentage would pay without having to close the text window and viewing it on the main screen. Ideally, I'd like access to sliders on the prizing screen with amounts that could be locked/unlocked and have the other prizes change accordingly. With this idea, you should be able to set the amount each click of the slider would be i.e. 5% or $20. I'd really love the ability of using sliders for cash amounts and percentages at the same time.

2. Ability to change/cancel a break. In our tourney on the weekend the final table (including myself) decided that we didn't want to skip the break and keep playing. The break had already started and I couldn't figure out a way to prematurely end it. Perhaps I'm missing something?

3. Status of player movement. While configuring my tourney I somehow forgot to check the auto-move players option. Is there a way to add something on the screen that indicates that this option is checked? I just set it and saved it into my default for future tournaments but I'd still like to it indicated on screen (or an actual button for it on the side of screen).

Other then these very small beefs, I have to say that TD is awesome! I'm figuring out with each and every tourney. Keep up the great work Coop!
