Beta Testing / Re: Version 3.4 FINAL
« on: October 13, 2017, 11:33:23 AM »
Ran a tournament with no issues.

I had asked for "Event action "Run program" can now be passed tokens from the event" and can tell you it works great.

I know you're nearing the release of 3.4, so just wanted to remind you of this request!  :)

Help Me / Re: 3.4.b2 black screen crashing...
« on: February 24, 2017, 08:42:04 AM »
I recently downloaded 3.4.b2.  I'm running it on an updated Windows 10 PC.  During my first tournament run last night, I had 4 occasions of the TD crashing to a black screen.  I had to force quit the program each time and then open it back up from it's last auto save point.

I was dealing with the same issue with my new Windows 10 computer.  The solution would be to go back to Windows 7 as this seems the most stable Windows with TD in my experience.  I didn't really want to that, so i ended up using a Windows 7 Virtual Machine using VMWare Workstation (I'm sure other virtual solutions would work also).   This has worked great for my last two tournaments. I am also able to use multiple screens in the VM so i'm pretty happy with the experience.

Getting the black screen during a tournament was never a fun time!

Since you're asking, i'm finding that the attachments in the template forum don't work.  They give a "404 - Attachment Not Found" error.  Not sure if it's because of the move or just old posts.

Help Me / Re: Bust out sound & message customized by player

Apologies for resurrecting an old thread.

I would like to use the same replacement variables (<name>, <ordinalrank>) in the "Program Arguments"  in the "Run Program" option instead of "Display Message".  It doesn't seem to work.  If i put the whole thing in quotes, then the replacement variables don't get replaced.

Having this ability would let me the flexibility to really customize an action when a specific player is busted out.

Help Me / Re: Question about events

Corey

Did this ever make it in a subsequent version?  I'd like to pass the blind levels at the beginning of every round to a batch file.

Help Me / Re: Event/Trigger Help
« on: September 20, 2007, 01:31:31 PM »
The way i would see it, is that there would be a trigger for "when a prize gets awarded", then a condition that checks a prize id.  So in my case, the trigger would be "when a prize gets awarded" and the condition would be "isPrize"=4.  With this method, i think you could even get rid of the random prize trigger since the random prize is just another id.

All that to say, i'm sure it's much more complicated that that!

Anyway, for your consideration... :)

Help Me / Event/Trigger Help

Is there a trigger/condition combination i could use to launch an event when a specific prize is awarded?  In my case, i'd like to have an event launch when my bounty on player (specific player, not random) is won.

Suggestions / Re: display name of "random player"
« on: September 06, 2007, 08:01:27 PM »
One more suggestion regarding the random player.  I take one dollar from each buy-in and rebuy to make the random player pot.  Instead of putting in a fix amount for the random player, i'd like to put in a variable pot depending on the buy ins and rebuys.  Currently, i  need to adjust the pot valuie once my rebuy period is over.

Thanks for considering

I am testing for the first time the random bounty feature.  It looks like there is no interactive way of notifying that the random bounty has been one.  From reading other post, it looks like it can be displayed on the screen with the prizes token, but that takes precious real estate on the screen.

As i suggestion, i'd like to see a new sound event when the prize has been awarded and even a pop up when you bust that player out indicating the random bounty has been one.

In the meantime i'll use as suggested in http://thetournamentdirector.net/forums/index.php?topic=708.0 and use the prizes token.

Thanks!

Beta Testing / Re: Version 2.3 is available

Hi Corey

One more thing during my testing today.  It looks like the sound event for "while the clock is paused" keeps getting activated during the post tournament screens.  Although technically the clock is paused, i don't think it's supposed to be activated when the clocked has essentially stopped  :)

Thanks for the info that sounds like it will do the trick.

I can still see a use for the option to turn the override feature off altogether.  If i turn off the rebuy ability after the rebuy period is over, when i export the results at the end of the tourney i'll need to re-enable it again so that its properly documented in the history.  Perhaps the change your putting will not affect the rebuy option just stop the override prompt to re-appear.

Something to consider.

Thanks again.

One of the new features appears to be able to overide the rebuy option when busting out a player after the rebuy period has ended.  Is there a way to turn this off?  With it on, it's an extra keystorke to bust out a player.

Couldn't find anything in preferences.
