Hi Corey is it possible for the (Ready to Start) and (Counting Down To Tournament Start) messages not to show.

Go to preferences - then status messages.  Create a new message set and give it a name.  Disable those 2 messages (and others if you want - I only use the tables unbalanced and clock paused messages as enabled)
