Help Me / Re: Including an add-on to a persons buy-in
« on: January 23, 2009, 08:29:49 PM »
Well, try to picture the Add Players dialog looking something like this:

Name                       Buy-In            Add-On          Bounty
                           [ $40]            [ $15]          [  $5]

Jack Nimble                 []                 []              []
Jack Daniels                []                 []              []
Jim Beam                    []                 []              []

The amounts under each column are editable (just like they are in the current dialog) and I can check the boxes next to each player for the different options.

Will this ever be done?  It would be nice to have an add-on checkbox on the player buy-in page.  What would REALLY be nice, would be for the buyin checkboxes to be in columns along side the peoples names.  Before a tournament starts, I have people coming up and throwing money at me, some people doing the add-on right away, some doing bounty chips, and all different combinations.  It would be cool if I could just click off boxes next to each person for what they're buying in for so I don't have to close the dialog after each person because the next person wants different options.

Templates, Layouts and Sounds / Re: Chip Images for TD

Duh...   I'm doing my layout playing around on another machine and of course, no chip sets defined.  Sorry for wasting time  :-[

How do you get the chip images to display?  I have a "Chips" cell on my layout with an HTML layout of "<chips size="50" columns="5" values="right">" but no chips show up.  Even when I load the default template in TD that has a Chips cell, nothing shows in it.  All the Chip image files are there. Is there something I'm missing?

So I have to keep track of who's in the Bounty Pool manually?  Kinda makes the whole Bounty system in TD seem useless.

General Discussion / Using the Bounty Chip
« on: December 03, 2008, 02:22:10 PM »
We're starting our 4th season this month and I'm planning on implementing optional bounty chips.  I'll be using the Restrict Bounties option so that only bounty participants can win bounties.  My question is, at the end of the game, where do I see who has won what bounties so I can pay out the money?  I assume TD keeps track of all this and will show me somehow who still has their own bounty chip and who (those able to win) has won others?

General Discussion / Re: Looking for Points Formula
« on: December 02, 2008, 05:21:56 PM »
All,
I am looking for a formula that awards points based on the following:

-Number of players in the tournament
-Amount of Money Player Invested (Buy In + Re-Buys)
-Rank in the tournament

Players would get more points if they finish better, with fewer rebuys in a tournament with more players. Make sense?

Thanks,
Steve

You want Dr. Neau's formula:

points = (sqrt(((a * b) * (b / c))) / (d + 1.0))

a = Number of Players in Event
b = Player Buy-in Expense (initial buy-in)
c = Player Total Expense (total player buy-in with re-buys)
d = Player Finish (order in which player goes out)

Hand 2 wins.

77AQ 9 kicker v. 77AQ 8kicker

correct

Well, it's only correct if there was no flush involved.  The suits weren't given ;)
