Templates, Layouts and Sounds / html layouts
« on: September 04, 2013, 01:02:44 PM »
Has anyone started working with html layouts for TD?  I started trying to mess with them using a website development program, but it didn't seem to work properly when trying to open as a file within a new TD layout.  In my case, I have Serif WebPlus X6 and have used it for a lot of website development in the last few years.  That said, it is mostly WYSIWYG and I'm certainly not an html guru....which may be the reason for things seeming difficult.  What I'd really like to do is just create a screen layout visually and get all the graphic elements placed just right followed by adding place holders and correct formatting for the tokens in TD.  Then just open the file as a screen layout within TD.  Is this doable or do I really need to figure out how to hand code all the html???

Thanks for any comments, advise and/or examples of good html layouts for TD!

General Discussion / Chiptalk.net Problem?
« on: July 19, 2013, 08:57:17 AM »
Is anyone a member of chiptalk.net?  If so, would you be willing to get a message to the site administrators?

I had been a lurker on there for several years, but had never registered.  Well, I went to register a couple of days ago and discovered what I think may be a big problem with their site....

On the registration page, search pages and even pages that are intended for contacting the administrators, there is a requirement to enter a code which is provided in a "verification image".  The problem is that there is NO verification image showing.  I've tested on three computers and an ipad as well as three different browsers.  This has lead me to believe it is truly a problem with the chiptalk site rather than something on my end.

Making matters even worse, there is NO way to contact anyone there because there are no standard email addresses AND the support forum and admin emails are protected behind this anti-spam feature as well.  So, is it possible that MANY people are having the same problem who want to become members?

Anyway, if you are a member and would be willing to alert the admins to this issue I would greatly appreciate it.

Thanks,

Jim Davis

Ok...  This one is a bit over the top, but it is supposed to be.  It is an ultra futuristic space ship console type of layout that works really well with sound/event templates that include space movie themes (star trek, star wars, battlestar galactica.......).  I know not everyone will appreciate smashing poker into a sci-fi theme, but I suspect there are some out there who might get a kick out of it.  This layout will work for just a few people or many and will change the way it presents player data depending on the number of players.  There is some personal logo/text info you will need to replace, but hopefully that won't be too difficult.
The layout is optimized for 1920x1080 screen resolutions, but should be scaleable.

Screen shot and full layout file attached...

Templates, Layouts and Sounds / Modern Metallic Layout

Here are a few screen shots and the template file for another layout I put together.  It will work for tourneys with just a few people or many and will act differently when there are more than 10 players in terms of fixed vs. scrolling player information.  We have used this layout with numerous different sound/event themes that range from old west stuff to futuristic and it seems to work pretty well across the board.  I have a few customized logo and text areas in the base graphics that I hope you can just paste over with your own custom logo/text.  If not, just let me know and I can strip out my stuff from the base images.

This layout is optimized for 1920x1080 screen resolutions, but should be scaleable.

I've attached a couple of screen shots and the full layout export.

Templates, Layouts and Sounds / Another Layout

Hey everyone.  I've been around here for a few years as nothing but a no good lurker.  In that time, I've learned a great deal from all of you great people who post and help all the rest of us.  In the spirit of sharing, I'm posting some screen grabs of my newest layout.  I'll post some other layouts in the coming days.  My designs tend to  depart from the traditional poker room look and lean more toward tech or even geeky tech screens. Anyway, I hope sharing my layouts might help someone even half as much a so many of you have helped me. See attached files.

Note: At the upper right of the main screens, I put in a  scrolling ticker that shows players in, tables, how many bust outs till money and top 5 hitmen.
On the break screen, the tourney data is replaced with an animated .gif that  shows the chip up by sliding the new chip over the replaced chip.  I've attached a sample of that graphic below.

Kind regards,

Jim Davis

Suggestions / Set Chip Counts Dialog - Feature Request
« on: June 29, 2013, 02:29:11 PM »
I've been a user of TD since the earliest days.  I've been a lurker on this forum for several years and have gained an incredible education from the extremely generous members of this group.  With my apologies, this is my very first post.  I look forward to being a contributor instead of just a lurker going forward.  Thanks to all of you who contribute so much.

For this post, I have a request to Corey.  My purposes are 100% toward home games of 20 people or less...  Usually, 10 people or less.  I'm not sure this request would have any meaningful application for all the commercial users out there.

While we seldom track chip counts for each and every hand, we often like to keep track of the chip leaders every few hands or at least at every break.  Obviously, the existing dialog for setting chip counts it the perfect place to manage this.  However, it doesn't appear there is any correlation between setting the player chip counts and the actual total chips in any given tourney.  As a result, it is very easy to type in a wrong number for player chip counts such that the chip leader board would not match the actual chips in the tourney.  For this reason, I would like to request an additional data section be added to the "chip counts" dialog.  I've attached a small graphic to explain this request visually.  Hopefully, this will makes sense.  I haven't found this as a request topic here on the boards, so I'm not sure if this is a big deal to anyone else.  For me, it would be a great addition to an already incredible poker software.

Please see attached graphic...

Thanks,

Jim Davis
