Help Me / Custom XML Export
« on: October 16, 2013, 04:42:47 PM »
Is there ANY WAY to create a custom XML export?

Could I edit the Tournament Export.html template and change it to .xml and put in some tokens or something?

Thanks...

Help Me / Report of Players by the last time they've played?
« on: October 12, 2013, 12:51:52 PM »
Corry, is there a way to find out which of my players haven't been to one of my games in a while?

For example, I'd like to be able to create a report of all the players that have registered in my games over the last 12 months.

If I can't do it in the program, is there a way to export the data and use a spreadsheet or db to create it?

Help Me / Help modifying my formula
« on: August 31, 2013, 12:02:26 PM »
Corry,

This is the formula that you helped me with a while back.  It assigns points based on the number of players in the game and when they make it into the top 30% of the field.

Code: [Select]
round(if(r - (n * 0.3) < 0.51, 20 * (sqrt(sqrt(n) * n / r)) + 20, 20))
I was thinking of adding an extra bonus for top 16 players. Was thinking a 30point bonus for making it to the final two tables.  Here is the kicker though;  if the attendance is less than 30 players, there is no bonus for the top 16.

Is this something I could even add to this formula or did I just make this too complicated?

General Discussion / XML to SQL
« on: August 21, 2013, 06:29:14 PM »
Hey Corry,

I've run out of places to ask this so, I figure I'll see if you know.

Is there a way for me to import my exported XML file into my MySql database? Could you point me in the direction to map the imports?

I want to use the StatsGenie export on my own site but can't find any methods anywhere to mapping the xml to mysql tables.

Just like on their site, I want to have my authorized users Upload the xml and have a script that puts everything where it needs to go.

Any direction you could point me in would be great!

thanks,
Dave

Help Me / How to use barcode scanner to register players
« on: May 01, 2013, 10:33:19 PM »
I know there are users that do this, could someone outline the steps to using a barcode scanner to sign in players? I have a large event and I want to speed up the registration process.

Help Me / Live site updates
« on: November 30, 2011, 03:22:46 PM »
Corey,

I found that feature that publishes updates to a. URL. Is this basically a "live update" feature?
What I mean is, iOS this something that would give my website visitors a sort of play-by-play of our games?

If so...Really cool.

How do I use it?

What do I need to do to process the file on my site ?  Anyway to work like  streaming coverage of an event?

Oh and BTW. Way to go on this version.

Help Me / TD3 Can't Search and register multiple players
« on: November 13, 2011, 07:50:42 PM »
Corey,

When I search for a player to register them for the game, I find the player and check off their name. Then I search for the next player, find them then check off their name. When I click ok, it only seats the last player I checked off.  It doesn't add the other 40 players I checked off.

Is there a setting for it in V3?

Help Me / Complicated formula
« on: August 16, 2011, 04:47:01 PM »
Ok, Sensei Cory...

Can you figure out this formula? I don't know how to apply this to the template.

This is formula has to calculate the number of players entered in the event, award everyone 20 points just for playing but also figure out how many places to pay out.

I have the formula from a spreadsheet if you could figure out a translation of the formula.

IF($A7-B$6*0.3<0.51,20*(SQRT(SQRT(B$6)*(B$6)/$A7)),20)+20

Is is a small chart of the points payout. Top row = # of entries  - Column 1 = Positions paid out.

Help Me / Formula
« on: March 07, 2011, 01:04:58 AM »
Well Corey, rather than rack my brain trying to figure it out I figure I'll ask for you assistance.

I would like to use a linear points system.

I'll use 1point as my basis to make it easy.

Every player that shows up get's a point.  Then the entire point system is based on attendance.

EG: 10 players

1st Place - 10 points
2st Place - 9 points
3rd Place - 8 points
etc...

Now, as a bonus I'd like the system to assign additional points to the top 8 players of the game.  I haven't figured out a number for that bonus yet.  (open to opinions here). Let's say 500 points per game.  250 for first and divide the rest between the last 7.   In what amounts? I haven't thought of anything yet but you should get the idea.

I do want a HUGE difference in points between first and the rest of the payouts.  This way, players (as I've tested) fight for the extra points.

Thanks in advance...again.

Suggestions / Automatic Setup and sending of TDT files
« on: December 14, 2010, 11:17:54 AM »
Cory,

I have games that run in several locations.  Each location needs to purchase a copy of TD2 and we train them on running the games and managing the software. The one thing we do ourselves is manage the player database.  The difficult thing about your software, and I was wondering if you had a "best idea" in mind for doing this, is managing database updates from my satellite sites.

Right now, its wonderful when TDs send the TDT files, then the simple "Add to Database" option opens and we can add those new players to the database. Unfortunately, some people are not --- umm -- savvy.

Is there any OTHER way you can think of to do this other than sending the TDT files?

The issues (not problems) - Managing member updates and new members from other locations and syncing the data.

Templates, Layouts and Sounds / tournament export template question
« on: November 03, 2010, 10:24:24 AM »
Can this be done?
<playerRankingsRows = 16>

I only want to report the top 16 players.  If not, is there a way to show the top 16?

Beta Testing / Quicker Barcode Entry
« on: September 14, 2010, 11:21:01 AM »
Corry,

Anyway to make the bar code entry method faster or should I say automated?  As it is now, I can scan a barcode and it finds the player really fast but the delay happens when I have to go up to the name, check the player's name then go back to the find box.

Suggestions / Custom Tokens
« on: August 17, 2010, 11:21:56 AM »
The ability to create or at least have access to all of the tokens currently in the system would be great.

Some export reports I'd like to have info on that is not currently available on "X" report.

I'd also like to create a start time token but instead of that actual start time, it uses a scheduled time.

For example, the game is scheduled to start at 7pm and that is the time I'd like on my report instead of saying we started at 7:18:39 pm

Suggestions / Location Database
« on: August 17, 2010, 11:18:47 AM »
Would be cool if we could enter the location that we're playing at in a section of the database.

For example: If you're playing at one location  you can select them from a drop down and it loads a specific template, rules, banners etc.
