Option for Live Cash Game..
« on: April 29, 2008, 07:19:29 PM »
Hello all:

I am new to this forum. I didn't know about it until few days ago. I'm using TD software for a year or so, and I think it is great software. I have a suggestion here to add a new feature to TD.

It would be nice to have another tab as "Live Cash Game”.  With this option we can add players from our database into this tab., pretty much the same way we add them into our tournament.

This option can be used also to clock players in/out, and to keep track of their accumulated playing times. (Separate from their Playing Time that is available now on TD for each tournament.)

Each player's Running Playing Time could be available in his/her info card. It can be used for rewards and promotions.

I really like this option because I think this feature improves TD software to be used for Live Cash Games, and it will give a much wider range of functionality.

Please let me know what you think.

Regards,
gilehmerd

You may be joking, but you've kind of hit the nail on the head.  The software was originally, and has remained, designed to run poker tournaments, not cash/ring games.  Obviously the software has evolved over time, and has added features I did not initially anticipate, but running cash games is not somewhere I have really considered going with it.  Plus, I still try to design/update features that benefit the largest audiences, and while I'm sure this would be of great benefit to a few users, it would be of little or no benefit to the vast majority of the software's audience.  Sorry guys, I just don't see this in the near future of the software.

I believe since Corey's intention for this software is to be used for Tournaments only, at least for now, we have no other choice but dropping this suggestion.

There are still some backdoor ways to do this using the currently available features at TD software. It's a little hard work, but it is working.

Thank you for the replies to my email.

Cheers,

No, this topic was about cash game waiting lists.
Elsewhere on another forum I found references to 2 commercial products used in casinos:
http://www.ameranth.com - QueueOS software
http://www.genesisgaming.com/ - Bravo software

Both sites suck and neither explain their software.
Needless to say I'm sure both are outrageously priced.
So I was wondering of anyone knows of any other wait list software.

Thanks.

QueueOS is definitely considered enterprise-type software, and will be priced as such.  Never heard of Bravo before, but sounds like it's fairly sophisticated as well.  What amazes me the most is just how crappy their websites are.  And I mean terrible, for a "technology" company.  I'm just one guy developing the software, doing sales, providing support, running the site, with a family and day job, and not that the TD site is wonderful, but it beats the crap out of their websites.  Since the website is usually the first thing people interested in your software see, you'd think they would spend a little time to make them more appealing.  They don't inspire a lot of confidence in their software.

sorry i just saw this...

I just got back from Vegas and most use the Bravo system...

It may be an option you may want to look into.. In my area alone a 25 mile radius there are at least 20 different cash games running... I am sure all would use the software if you added that option to it.. along with most tournament hosts who usually run cash games as well.

i just think that you maybe want to reconsider it.
