Help Me / Player Movement Issue
« on: April 05, 2009, 09:32:33 PM »
I run monthly 2 table tournies.  Been noticing that for the last few tournaments that whenever I bust out a player it pops us a message about not enough seats for players (which isn't the case).  I've just been ignoring it.  When we got down to 4 or 5 players this time I noticed it seated 4 players at my empty table that weren't even bought in.

I generally move players manually anyways so I went ahead and disabled the auto seating and player movement suggestion.  I was always taught to move the player left of the BB.  Since disabling it, I started a test tournament and the message seems to be gone.  Anyone ever get this message or see TD seat players that aren't bought in?

General Discussion / Laptop died! During the tournament...
« on: December 15, 2008, 10:10:34 AM »
So, right as heads up started my laptop completely died.  Powered off and wouldn't turn back on.  This was the first time that I wasn't tracking everything on paper as backup.  Thankfully it was only a 12 person tournament, and I already had the prizes counted out etc.... so we were able to rebuild everything on paper from memory.  Also, thank god I kept our tournament/season results in a spreadsheet on my home PC.  I'd have been up a creek without that info.

Hopefully I can get it working again or at least pull the hard drive out and recover my tournament files.  I'd hate to start over.

I'm assuming that even if I had auto-save enabled (which I'm not sure I did), it probably didn't save the tourney data for this one?

Lessons learned:
Keep a hard copy during the tournament.
Keep a backup timer of some sort with you (I had one)
Backup your tournament files to another PC, or external device.  As an IT guy, I know better but didn't do it.

General Discussion / New Guy
« on: October 09, 2008, 11:05:45 AM »
Just wanted to drop a line and say hi.

Tested the software at our final tournament last season and it was a big hit.  Just purchased it for the start of the new season and ran our first tournament on it.

The players love the display and I love not having to remember the next blind level, announce how much time is left, etc...  Not to mention it figuring out our payouts and points.  I need to spend some time learning about setting up a season and tracking the points, dropping tournaments, etc... but so far everything is working great.  Had a little problem with moving players and making my final table but I think that was user error.

Sorry for preaching to the choir here, but just wanted to say that it's a hit in our league!

I'm sure I'll have questions, but I'll spend some time reading and searching first.
