Help Me / Stats not inputting saved tournaments
« on: February 19, 2013, 08:35:01 AM »
I am still using version 2, I have been running a pts league for several months on my laptop, and would save the finished tournaments onto a back up drive just in case something would happen, well it did, my laptop went out last week, and I reistalled TD on my new one, copied the saved tournaments into the new folder that the program pulls from and also imported my league info and players.  However when I go to pull the stats it sees the tournaments but does not pull the data from them.  What do I need to do?  I need those past tournies to be used in the stats..

Hope someone can help me.

Thanks every one for your help, I will def play around with those ideas this week.   Corey just for future improvements or as an extra feature, this style of tournament is widely used for Satellites in Casinos and online, there are also a lot of home tournaments and charity tournaments that use the shootout format, maybe it would be good to work these kinda diff tourny styles or options into future updates?  Just a thought.

Thanks again, and still open for anyone else's input.

Thanks, I didnt say "most popular" just one of the top formats.  I have played these formats at casinos, and as satellite tournys.  Well I appreciate everyone's help.

Pretty good idea thank you :), but it would be nice to have that tournament option more readily available on TD since it is one of the top tourny styles out there.  Any other ideas or actual templates out there?

I'm looking for the best, and FREE sound editor.  One that I can combine sounds clips, record over, and easily piece together new ones.

I'm sure someone out there can guide me to the download.

Thanks,
Scott

Corey,

I've been extremely busy and couldn't reply right away to you.  Thats one of the mysteries, in that tournament under the players tab, it lists him has 1140 points, but when the stats tally it gives him an extra 100, these are the things I'm confused about.

Corey,

Hey for some reason the formulas have not been working..  We just had our second event, the first event's scores needed tweaking for some reason guys were given more points than they should have gotten, some of them double.  Event 2 basically from 6th place down all were shorted a couple hundred points.  I'm very confused and had to go under the players tab and manually adjust their points there to make them correct.  I tried all 3 formulas and they all do the same.  The only adjustment I made was changeing 2nd place points to 1300 instead of the 1200 I told you.  I am attaching my 2 events, plus the corrected results (html) maybe you can see what i screwed up on or if their is a hitch in the setup somewhere.  I appreciate your guidance.

God Bless,
Scott

Corey,

Thanks so much for your help, it worked great..  Does TD have a list of formulas for simply tallying all the scores for each event and keeping a running total?  I got the stats to list correctly, just having some trouble with the over scoring aspect of the stats tab.

Thanks again,
Scott

Hi, I have had TD for a long time, and have only used the Timer for my home games, now I'm in charge of keeping stats for our Men's Poker Church League.  There are no buy-ins as we play for points, fun and fellowship, and have a final tourny at the end of the season.  I have never been great with math, and just don't want to screw things up with a silly mistake so if someone could help me understand how to set it up, I would be greatly appreciative.  Points that are earned are actually bonus chips that players will have to start with at the final tourny of the year, so the stats have to be totaled after each event.

Everyone who plays gets 100pts.
Hits are worth 20pts. each
final 10 players get extra points as follows:
10th=300, 9th=400, 8th=500, 7th=600, 6th=700, 5th=800, 4th=900, 3rd=1000, 2nd=1200, 1st=1500
We also get a consulation table running when enough people get knocked out and that winner gets 100 bonus chips ( I know those points can be manually adjusted and added after the main tournament is finished)

I have little clue on how to set up this formula, and how do I put it in to TD to figure out each events stats and for the season stats totals?

I thank whomever can give me guidence and direction, God bless...

Suggestions / Adding pictures of players

It would be cool to ad players pics to the data base.  Lots of uses could come from that.

Hey everyone, I have very little experience with HTML, but have a couple webdesign programs.  Would any of them work in making a layout?

Help Me / Re: Special tournament format help... Please help :)
« on: December 19, 2006, 10:02:38 PM »
Corey,

Let me try to clarify...  The first half of the event is designed to play down each table seperately the top 2-3 players at each of those tables will play at the final table for additional points based on their finish.  All final table players start with the same amount of chips, basically a new tournament.  All the players who did not make the final table, play on two seperate consolation tables, and also start with equal chip stacks, again basically each consolation table is a small tourney.  Points are earned as follows.. all players get 1 pt for coming to play.. all final table qualifiers get 1 extra point for placing in the final table... the fourth place finisher at the final table gets an extra point for a total of 3, 3rd place finisher gets 2 extra equaling 4 total. and so on.. first place finisher will receive 6 total points for the day.  Any player either at the final table or the consolation tables who completely run the whole table get one extra point for that.. since the league runs from 1-4 this doesn't always happen, and the winner is determined by a chip count.  I just wish to be able to keep track of all points automatically as both halves play.  Hope this makes sense.

Help Me / Special tournament format help... Please help :)
« on: December 16, 2006, 02:09:24 PM »
My friend and I run a medium sized league for a Christian mens group.  The format is broken up into 2 separate halves.  The first has been 20 players at 4 tables, each table plays down to the final two players, those final 2 players from each table then play at the Final table in the 2nd half.  All the losing players then play at 2 consolation tables.  Both halves have different blind structures with new chip stacks. There is also point values given to playing in the event, and where you finish between the tables.  I am looking for a format which will bring both halves together, and seat the players in the final table, and the consolation tables as well, and if possible also award Pt's automatically based on their finish.  Can anyone give me some great suggestions.

Thanks,
Scott D
