Personal Tournament Director Software license
« on: February 24, 2013, 11:25:46 PM »
Why does a popup screen stating – The installed license is a Personal Tournament Director Software license. I am quite aware that I have a personal license and that is all I have or want to have. The games I have are usually less than 20 people and is for a card club we have.

Is there a way to stop this constant popup from appearing?

Thank You…

There are many of us on here that use it in a commercial setting, which is why you and I see personal, and they see commercial. It's basically to remind you to not use the license multiple times, and as far as I know, there isn't a way to be rid of it.

It's unfortunate that legitimate license holders have to be "spammed" with this.  It is a reminder, not to those of you who use the Tournament Director for personal (i.e., non-commercial) use, but to those who are using the Tournament Director for profit or indirectly as a profit boost for their business.

The software is priced for business, for-profit use, but I heavily discount it for personal use.  The most common license violations are businesses (casinos, card rooms, etc) having their employees purchase a personal license and then using that license for their business.  The second most common license violations are businesses (casinos, hotel chains, etc) buying a single commercial license and then using it for all of their properties, or poker hosting businesses buying a single commercial license and installing that license on all 20 laptops used by their 20 tournament directors.  This reminder is to them.  I'd really rather them license it properly than take them to court.

I realize it's an annoyance, and I'd be annoyed as well.  I'd take it out if I could.  But it is configured to only show itself upon start up of the application, and never more than once in any 24 hour period.
