Title: Error Messages
Post by: jodybingo on January 13, 2012, 01:02:15 PM
Hi Corey. One of my staff sent me a text message saying that one TD hit many errors last night (not sure what 'many' means but...). I'm gonna have to show him how to take a screenshot because he sent me the following image he took using his cell phone. I am waiting for more details on another error and will send them off as soon as I have more details.
Thanks

That first one is unfortunate because I cannot read all of the error message.  Plus it appears as if it isn't the usual error dialog, which means it probably didn't file an error report.

As for the "out of memory" issue: I'm clueless.  I have no idea how this could happen, and doubt there's anything the application could do differently to prevent it.  My only suggestion is to make sure you're using Auto Save WITH the backup option, and if you see this error, save the tournament, exit the TD and restart it.

How big is your player database, by the way?

I have tested this in the past with a DB of over 5000 players.  And that was in the days of slower PCs, less memory, and a much less robust Internet Explorer.

I believe our DB is over 4300 players (however many are duplicates). We do have the Auto-Save on and we did have to exit (3 finger salute was needed to shut down TD). I built the machine myself and used an i3 Intel processor (can't remember the speed but it was decent) along with 16GB of RAM. Generally the only other apps used on this machine are Firefox and Excel or LibreOffice.

(3 finger salute was needed to shut down TD).

Why is that?  Did you get the same error when you pressed the Exit button?

TD wasn't responding
