Title: Running multiple tournaments at the same time?
Post by: Denis Briel on March 18, 2008, 09:04:27 AM
Hi everyone,

I'm quite new to Tournament Director, but late me first of all state, that it's the best software I have been able to find out there!

There is one thing though, I haven't been able to figure out:
I want to run several tournaments at (almost) the same time.
I.e. one big tournament and 3 SnG's.
Obviously, the big one and the SnG's are not starting at the same time and are using different blind structures.

Is there any way, how I can use the same instance of Tournament Director to do that?
Or is it possible to start multiple instances of the software?

Thanks in advance for your answers!

Denis

You can only run one instance of the software at a time.  It isn't architected to allow simultaneous access to the database.

Also, if you're running multiple tournaments at the same time (which would have to be on different PCs), it requires multiple licenses: http://www.thetournamentdirector.net/faq.html#faq3

Thanks for the reply!

Do you plan to offer something like a PRO version which allows running multiple tournaments?

This would be a great addition, i think!

No plans to allow multiple tournaments to run at the same time.  While I would not disagree that this would be a great help to some, I think the audience for this feature would be very, very small (relative to the entire user base).
