Year End Summary
« on: February 22, 2013, 05:22:55 PM »
I am very new to this software and would love to be able to track the following for each year:

Busted Count List (even better would be who busts who percentage)
Total Winnings (is it possible to subtract buy-ins and buy-backs to get a gross instead of a net?)
Total Points (I have a generic point system setup)
List of first, second, third and fourth placements (for instance John Place first 3 times, second 5 times and third 7 times)

Please let me know if any of the above are possible and if so how would I do it.  I am looking at the database section and not seeing any kind of history for the players.

Thanks in advance for any assistance given.

Sounds like you're looking for basic statistics. Total winnings, points, and placement (1st through 10th) would be handled through the statistics tab. The database is going to hold only information about the player.

To get the columns that you want shown, click on the stats tab, click on preferences, and then on edit columns. Once you get the columns that you want, you are able to rename them as you wish by clicking on column names (instead of edit columns). Click ok to get back to the stats tab, click on refresh, and everything should show up as you want it to.

Thanks again for the help.  I think the problem is that I am not saving each game as a different file.  I think if I do that the stats I am looking for will be displayed.

Yes - if you want to track stats, you have to save each tournament as a separate file. However, if you have regulars that play, you can set it up as a template, or save it as a file, open it, then save as a different file. But if you are overwriting the file each time, or even simply not saving it, then what you seen happen will continue to occur.

Thanks again for the help.  I did just that for last night's game and the stats are looking correct.

One more quick question.  We had a situation where the last 2 players in our tournament had nearly identical chips and decided to chop the pot instead of play heads up, so we could start game 2 of the night.  How to a score a chop so that it records equal share of 1st and 2nd for points and prize money?  Also does the chop show as both players getting first for games won?  Sometimes we decide to chop a pot so that one person gets more money because they had more chips.  How do I display this as a chop and do I just manually change the prize winnings or does the chop settings (if one exists) give me the option to change the prize winning distribution?

Hi

The Chop function exists and it does exactly what you want... you can either split just the money, just the points, or both money and points... and you can ajust it by 1% increments... you can chop it as you want... it's already there.

I kept trying to hit the Chops button under prizes.  I then tried to just bust the last 2 players and that gave me the chop feature.
