Bad Beat
« on: March 22, 2010, 12:24:12 AM »
Just felt like sharing a bad beat story out of my club,
The house removes $1 from every pot for a progressive jackpot and divides it amongst the players involved in a bad beat hand and the players at the table the time it comes out.
Our rules, A player must lose a hand holding Aces full of Kings or better. Both winning player and losing player must also use both their pocket cards.
This hand was all0in on the flop
Player A - 5 spades and 6 spades
Player B - Pocket 9s

Flop;
7 spades
8 spades
9 spades
Turn;
9 (now straight flush over quads, qualifies for bad beat)
River;
10 spades
The straight flush holder now only uses one of his pocket cards, nullifying the bad beat.
The pool was $42,000 at the time of the hand.
The real bad beat was losing the jackpot!!!

What a hand! Seems like a bit strict rules for both players being forced to use both cards to win jackpot, but, that's why I run my game the way I do and you the way you do! LOL
