Help Me / Player ID in stats view
« on: January 21, 2008, 01:20:17 PM »
Hi all,

How can I get the player ID's into the data on the Stats page for later exportation to a file? It doesn't seem to appear in the list of columns that can be chosen for viewing.

Thanks

John

Help Me / Tournament formulas throughout a series of events
« on: January 21, 2008, 07:32:24 AM »
Apologies if this appears twice. I though I'd sent this a few days ago but it doesn't seem to have appeared.

Is there a recognised or standardised formula one should use for calculating points for a series of events over a long number of tournaments?

Ideally the variable would take into account things like the number of players, number of rebuys (so would deduct points) and would be proportional to the number in the field and prize pool, total umber of rebys, the round you went out in etc.

If there are any obvious things not to include please let me know. I wouldn't want to include a variable that wasn't relevant.

Thanks

John

Suggestions / Tournament formulas
« on: January 19, 2008, 07:48:55 PM »
Is there a recognised formula that one should use in tournaments (or in a series of tournaments in may case).

I am running approx 20 tournaments over about 6 months and want to take in as many variables that are actually relevant.

I've tried to think of things like reducing points for those who have had more rebuys than others, and also how many rebuys there were or how much money went into a comp or the number of players etc etc.

Anything anyone can offer is appreciated.

Thanks

John

Hi, Am not sure how top set Tournament Score to "points". Setting the Overall Score seems ok. I just copied in the formula you mentioned into the second option to choose an overall score.

Could you please give more specific instructions.

Thanks

Help Me / Best 8 out of 10
« on: January 03, 2008, 10:46:10 AM »
Have just finished using the TD2 software at the end of our first club series and it worked really well. The next will be slightly different in that players points will be used from their best 8 out of 10 tournaments.

At the end of each event people come to the screen and want to see where they finished and how this affected their position. I just usually go to the stats screen and then order by points.

How can I do this on a best 8 out of 10 basis?

Thanks in advance.

Help Me / Choose prize for random busted out player
« on: December 06, 2007, 01:04:18 PM »
I've done a search on busting out players and then choosing oen of these randomly but only found one reference which wasn't relevant.

Is it possible to choose a random player from the list, then as each gets busted out, if that player is the one just busted out, trigger an event to do 'whatever'?

Thanks

Hi Corey, we've been using your software for a few weeks now and all the gang love it. As we are all fairly new we have lots of battles over which hands should beat which. Do you have any plans to build a poker odds calculator? There seem to be lots on the web. I'd rather put my money here.

Help Me / Reorderiing sound library
« on: October 28, 2007, 10:43:33 AM »
I can see a way in the help file to reorder sound events but not the sounds library on the left of the screen.

I'm trying to get all of my files on the left in order so I can see whats levels and blinds I have in case I've missed any.

How can I do this please.

Thanks

Help Me / Re: Laptop transfer sounds failure
« on: October 28, 2007, 10:38:15 AM »
After some digging I've found that some of the files have different bit rates (whatever that is). Anyway I've got a demo sound converter and found if I make the wavs 16 bit and 16000hz then they will play in TD2.

Hopefully this may help someone in the future.

Help Me / Laptop transfer sounds failure
« on: October 27, 2007, 06:37:18 AM »
Having setup my tournament on my PC and then made dozens of events, I then backed up everything and tried to transfer to my laptop. I couldn't find an option in Backup to import a backup so I just copied the TD2 folder in its entirety on the C Drive (labelled C_Drive and which uses Windows XP) of my PC (where everything was working fine) to the same location on the laptop, which also has XP and the same label for the C Drive.

At first all seemed well and I was able to load up saved tournaments ans see all the relevant data.

When I tried to run the events in the tournament though they wouldn't play. No sound came out.

I checked the wav files by finding them manually on the laptop via Explorer and they played fine. When I browsed for them via the Events tab in TD2 though and then tried to play them nothing happened.

I then tried to recreate one of the failed events from scratch but it was the same.

One or two of the original sounds did work like the warning near the end of a level. I had only modified this by changing the actual sound wav file but was still using the TD raw set up for the event. The raw event itsefl was one that was there from the start of the program being installed.

On the same subject, I've also noticed that if I try to recreate an event from scratch, (that already exists in the preset setup examples) but with a modification on (say) the number of seconds before it fires, then these too sometimes fail. I end up having to create an existing event from the default list, and then alter it that way.

In the end I ran the tournament with only a few working sounds.

Help Me / Problem with formulas
« on: October 25, 2007, 06:35:16 PM »
I have a formula which I was using in Excel before I started using TD2. I've managed to translate everything accross. When I look at the "summary" and the "test all" via the formula window everything looks good.

However, when I look at the stats page The winner has 899 points instead of 900. All of the other players also have one point reduced. Any idea where the missing point has gone?
