Templates, Layouts and Sounds / Re: Layouts
« on: June 07, 2012, 02:57:06 AM »
It partially depends on the version... If you're using 3.1.1, it should be asking you should the layout be different than what normally loads, it will ask me if I want to load the tournament with the layout, or without the one that was saved with it.

Using 3.1.1 -  So it can still load the original template even though it has been altered?

I save a game with a layout template, I then altered the layout template. Saved and closed.  When i loaded the game template later on, there did not appear to be any changes in the layout and i think that the original template  i used was loaded.
So if-
I create a layout, set up a tournament. then save the game template.
Now when i reload the game template.
Does it load the original Layout template, or does it load the altered layout template?

You or someone on the forum would be more than willing to help. I appreciate all the hard work and support that you give to us on this forum.

Many thanks Corey, that worked just great, didn't have to alter it at all. Loved the border on the cell never thought of doing that.

Cheers Corey will be obliged.
There are 3 screens
the main screen
the rules screen and a Poker Etiquette screen

The one I was trying to sort out (mentioned in the previous pos) was for the Poker Etiquette screen
The resolution i am using is 1366 * 768

May be a few days  before i get back to you, as i am off to sunny Cyprus. No online poker- nearest casino 150 miles away, do good to get a rest from all those bad beats  :)

Many thanks in Advance

Templates, Layouts and Sounds / setting cell heights
« on: May 24, 2012, 06:28:23 AM »
I would like to specify the height of cells.

I have 3 cells on a a screen i have made for displaying poker etiquette.
The top cell is for the header. i have set the geight for this on the cell info as 30
The middle cell is for a scrolling (up) text. and this displays the rules of poker etiquette. no height specified.
The bottom cell displays a message which scroll from right to left across the bottom of the screen.  I have set  the height on this (in the cell info ) to 30.

The problem   I am getting is that the middle cell only covers about 1/2 of the available space. If i try putting a specific height in it makes the bottom cell disappear.

Below is an example that was given to display cells horizontaly, and this worked great. I have tried to adjust this for what i need but couldn't get it to work.

<div style="width: 715px"><marquee> We hope you had a GREAT game of poker. For more information on all things about the Franklin Poker League. Check out www.facebook.com/franklinpoker for game information, and results.</marquee>

any  ideas would be greatly appreciated
I have attached a screen shot of the screen.
and this is what i have in the centre cell that i tried to enlarge the cell area

<marquee direction="up" loop="-1" width=1200 scrollamount=2.20.>
<div style="HEIGHT: 295px; overflow-x: hidden"><span style="color=#ffffff; font-size: 15pt"><nobr>

<table border=0 cellspacing=0 cellpadding=0><tr><td style='font-family: Arial; font-size: 28pt; font-weight: bold; color: #ffff00; filter: dropshadow(OffX=0, OffY=0, Color=#ffff00)'>

Help Me / Chips pics in seperate cells
« on: May 22, 2012, 06:17:54 AM »
up till now I have always displayed the chips in one cell. this displays the chips in a column.
Got to thinking that if I displayed a picture of every chip used during a tournament  in a seperate cells, and  then place them all in a column.
I would be able to set the conditions to display what chips were currently in use.
For instance.I start with 4 chips, 25, 100, 500, and 1000.
After the 1st break the 25 chips are raced off. so the 25 chip would no longer be displayed. But the 5000 chip would be introduced
Then in the second break the 100 chips would be removed, and the 10000 chip would be introduced
But cant figure out what the conditions i should be using.
When i go to set the conditions -> go to -  During the game. Would i have to make 2 conditional cells for each chip. 1 for the rounds and 1 for the breaks?
Can these work together?
In the Break one do i put break>= 1 or do i put break>= any
In the Rounds one do I put  round number >=4 or whatever round that i wanted the chip to stop being displayed?

Hope you understand what i am trying to do, any suggestions, solutions, or ideas would be gratefully accepted.

Beta Testing / Re: error
« on: May 09, 2012, 12:55:15 PM »
soz,  just checked and i had received your e mail.

The conditions you described below are exactly the situations that i had in the tournament

players being reseated to final table
players were not sitting at FT
one of the seats at FT was marked as unavailable.

The Red Italics message -  I saw, but it vanished before i could properly read it.

Like I said it was no problem. Many thanks for the response

Mahound

There are a number of lingering issues that I see every so often that I just cannot for the life of me track down.  This is one of them.  I did some digging, and the *only* scenario I can come up with to make this happen is:

1) You're down to the last table (all of your players are sitting at a single table)
2) You have a table designated as the "final" table, but your players are not currently sitting at it (for a table to be designated as the "final" table, on the Collapse Order dialog there has to be one or more tables listed in the "Collapse these tables last" section and the "In the order specified above" checkbox must be checked)
3) One of the seats at the table your players are currently sitting at must be marked as Unavailable

In this situation, when a player is busted out, the table balancing code will attempt to move all of your players to your designated "final" table.  However, it will interpret the "Unavailable" seat as a player, and attempt to move that "player", too.  If you accept this movement, the error results.

The one caveat is that on the Player Movement dialog, the "Unavailable" seat that the software is attempting to move will be listed as "<Unknown player>" (in red italics).  It seems like this would be pretty noticeable.

Running a mock tournament, Busted out a player and the following occured. No other problems, was able to continue, no need  to shut down and restart TD, and other players eliminated successfully.

Help Me / Re: Formula Help

That was quick. thanks will try this ASAP

That worked great Corey Thank you very much.

As a point of interest Corey. How did you work this Formula out. Before posting this problem I spent quite some time looking through the help files for a solution to this. But I came no where near to what you arrived at.

Add: + if(r = 1, roundNum)

I think that would work.  Only caveat would be if there was a final chop, in which case I think you'd just have to remove this part from the formula (since the first place finishers would have busted out due to the chop).

That was quick. thanks will try this ASAP

This worked great. The formula works a treat,  just as you said.
However when I ran a mock tournament with 80 players (20 teams of 4).  I found that some points weren't added to the winners score.

In the section of the formula "Each player earns 1 point for every full level that they survive".

Example

In the mock tournament the winner knocked out the runner up in round 23.  So 23 points are awarded to the runner up, but as the winner is technically not eliminated from the game, the points that the winner should get for every level, is not added to the winners score.
Is there any way that these points could be added to the winners score.

Cheers

edit, i also added a switch into the formula, so this is what the end formula looked like
 1 + nb + (roundOut - 1) + ceil(n / 4) - floor((r - 1) / 4)+ switch(r, 1, 10, 2, 8, 3, 7, 4, 6, 5, 5, 6, 4, 7, 3, 8, 2)
