New item suggestions

Hi Corey I've a got a few new suggestions for TD

One of the issues I can see is TD is geared heavily towards the home game, in order to target the commercial market these changes would be appealing:

Controls tab:

Could we have a simplified eliminate and reinstate menu on the controls tab, with a immediate search option with player name, chipcount and status (Active or Eliminated)

Could we have a reduce/increase player numbers, rather than having to eliminate a player from the tourney we can just click -1/+1 so the TD shows the correct number of players in the tournament without having to track names.

In large tournaments of say 100 players, it is common to 'bust anyone' from the tournament and then when down to near the bubble we would take the names and re-instate those players to track through the bubble, player names are normally entered for initial seating purposes only with further consolidation and breaking being carried out manually, until redrawing for the final table etc.

I think the second suggestion would be slightly harder as your software seems to be dependant on players, where the software I use in casinos has no correlation between players and clock, for example when re-instating player names for cash tracking you can eliminate everyone and the tournament clock continues, the tournament is completed in a similar manner to starting the tournament, with a user intervention to tell the program the tournament is complete.

Can you elaborate on this.  I'm really not sure what you mean.

Could we have a reduce/increase player numbers, rather than having to eliminate a player from the tourney we can just click -1/+1 so the TD shows the correct number of players in the tournament without having to track names.

This can be done now.  In Simple mode, when you buy-in players, you get a dialog that asks how many players to buy in.  However, there is a preference in the Miscellaneous section to Increment by 1 in simple mode.  This makes it so a press of the "Buy-in" button just buys in 1 player without opening a dialog.

Again, I think you can do this now.  Start in Track Players mode, enter all players into the tournament, buy them in and seat them.  Then switch to Simple mode and set the number of players in the tournament.  Continue in Simple mode until you reach the final number of players.  At this point, switch back to Track Players mode, press the Bust-out button, click check all, then uncheck the final players and press OK to bust everyone out except for the final players.  Continue in Track Players mode until the tournament is over.

You might also want to create a screen for those times when you switch back and forth between Track Players mode and Simple mode that doesn't display any particular tournament information.  When you switch from Simple Mode to Tracking Players mode at the final table, it's going to look like everyone is back in the tournament until you bust all but the final table players out.

Would this work?

Stuart

Here's a crude mock up of what I mean!

The search function allows you to start entering part of the surname, so as soon as you type the first character it will jump to M for example then U would immediately display MU surnames.

You could then click on the row of the player and then click eliminate or re-instate or enter chip count

Switching between simple mode and tracked mode is definately an option, albeit slightly more complex way of doing it but would definately be easier!
