Or almost like a charm....

I added my rakes as i should, and they print on the receipt...

But when the value is 0, why is it printing?

Is there an option somewhere, when a rake is at 0 to not print on the receipt?

Suggestions / Re: Bind a Buy-In Profile to members in database
« on: February 18, 2013, 02:45:53 PM »
Well, it could, but i am already using the player ID for the member number, which is the string i search with the barcode scanner...

And having a member ID doesn't enable me to know if they paid their membership or not...

I am currently using the Notes field to see if they paid or not... if you could display the Notes one, it could help.

The notes field for me contains the type of invitation i use on the Stats Genie website... so a:

Regular = Paid membership
Spare L1 = Non-paid membership
Spare L5 = Non league member

I also use the Buy-In Profile with the exact same name... so i got a buy-in profile set for Regular, Spare L1 and Spare L5... they all have different amounts...

If i could see the Notes field at the buy-in dialog, i would only have to match the Notes i see displayed with the Buy-In profile and the right receipt would print... that would be good enough...

Suggestions / Bind a Buy-In Profile to members in database
« on: February 18, 2013, 11:02:27 AM »
Hi,

In my league, we use membership cards... and people that paid their membership card pay less than members without membership card.

We can achieve this with the newly added function "Buy-In Profiles". And i thank you for this.

Now, since we use membership cards... they only way i can make sure they paid their membership card, is to put a note on their people profile... but it would be easier if i could BIND them a buy-in profile directly...

So any member that shows his membership card at the buy-in, scans it, the receipt would print the amount of the pre-determined buy-in profile, so i could have 2 buy-in profiles, a member and a non-member.

I would more easily be able to track who paid their membership cards this way...

Any possible chance to get a Buy-In Profile bindable option in the people profile of a member?

Help Me / Rake details on Receipt
« on: February 16, 2013, 05:24:25 PM »
Hi,

Been using the software for a while now, and i love it.

For our next season, i am introducing the receipts so people can know which table and seat they are assigned to.

We also use bounty... but i would like to add the details of the buy-in, which would explain the rakes on the receipt...

Now on the receipt, the only 2 amount i see, are the buy-in amount and the bounty chip amount...

I am using the latest Beta and lots have been done to the receipt... wish there was some more added ;-)

Is there any way i can detail the rakes in the buy-in, because we have like 5 different rakes on there i would like to explain...

Thanks

Here's what i have now:

Help Me / Re: Prize problem
« on: December 07, 2011, 03:26:18 PM »
Ok... i got a similar thing going on, and we are doing exactly this... we have a template for tournaments, and once we load the template, depending on how many players we have in the tournament, we use a different prize layout...

The problem i have, is when i change theprize layout, and i bust out one of the player from the tournament, it loads another prize template... basicly, everytime i change something in the tournament "bust someone" mostly is what we do during a tournament, the prize layout changes... and it was like that in version 2, and i get same thing in version 3...

Am i doing something wrong?

Help Me / What's the API used to do screen transitions?
« on: November 24, 2011, 12:04:00 AM »
I wonder, because i just got V3, and just re-imported my V2 (was using 2.5.12) database on it... which i guess is ok... and everything seems very very fine.... all my default layouts are 1024x768 in V2 and V3, i use same layouts in V3 that i used in V2...

Now the thing i see for sure, is that the animations on the Buy-In player to start, with pre-tournament screen, seating chart are cooler than V2... but the transition are WAY slower than they were with V2.... (noticed they are called screen transitions, and this is only existing in V3... just checked in my 2.5.12 and there are no screen transition)

Is there anything we should know about V3 animation API? Is it graphic accelerated in anyway?

I tried this on 2 pc now... one has Windows 2008 installed as my home local domain (the PC i run my tournaments on primarly) which consist of 4gig of ram and a Core2Duo 6600... with an ATI3870 graphic card... this PC, being a windows 2008 server, is powerful enough to play shelf games... not at the fastest settings, but the screen transitions should be way faster than that....

Thank being said, i tried this on my work PC, which is a Quad Core Q6600 with 8gb of ram and an Nvidia 8800 GTS 512mb card... same thing... at the same resolution...

So was wondering if anyone every notice that those screen transition are slow, almost as if they would benefit from hardware acceleration, but they are not....

It looks to me like if someone would install windows on a new PC and doesn't install the video card drivers, screen animation are jerky... (transition between seating chart, tournament screen, pre-tournament screen... )

Anyone noticed this, any work around?

Help Me / Re: Penality for a player that didn't show up...
« on: June 20, 2010, 06:39:43 AM »
I already tried that, but it doesn't work....

Here's the result in the stats tab when i refresh the tournaments for the season, we have played 5 tournament as we speak, and this particular player played 4, and didn't show up on the 5th.

I made the modification in the tournament, by adding the player to the tournament, without a buy-in for him and ajusting his points by -5.

This is the result in the player stats, you can clearly see the ajustement and the overall score not being deducted 5 points...

Now something works somewhere, go back to 1st screenshot, and you will see that he's 9th (the position he should be with 11.6 points), but according to his 16.6 points, he should be 8th, but the 8th player has 16.28 points, so somehow, it gets calculated, but the score does't reflect reality....

I am using this formula on a tournament (points for playing) to calculate score :  (sqrt(((n * bc) * (bc / tc))) / (r + 1.0))+(nh*(nh+1)/10)

And i am using this to calculate overall score for the league:

Tournament Scoring formula: points
Overall Scoring formula: sum(top(6, scores))

I think i cannot be more clear... what's wrong on my side?

His real score should be 11.6, as he had 16.6 points before not showing up and the penality rule apply to him. Now that i deducted the -5 points by adding him to the tournament without buying-him in, the points reflect the -5, but not the overall score... and we use the overall score to track everything on stats genie, so the penality doesn't get exported and he's not ranked correctly.

Help Me / Penality for a player that didn't show up...
« on: June 19, 2010, 12:33:59 AM »
It's the 1st time it happens, and i dunno how to do it...

Our rules stipulate that when you don't advise at least 8-12 hours in advance that you won't show up at a game, you lose 5 points on the overall score...

So i have a tournament where i have 11 players, but only 10 show up and buy-in. THe 11th player, i want to give him a -5 point on that tournament that will sum up on the overall score... i tried handing him a prize with a -5 point, but it shows on points, not on overall score...

I don't want to penalize the player with a played tournament either, because he didn't played (we sum the 6 best tournament out of 12...)

Help!

Help Me / Re: Overall Score formula... please help
« on: September 15, 2009, 09:45:02 PM »
Ok, let me rephrase.

Using the Point for playing formula, i get a result, then whatever i put in tournament scoring and overall score, i get the same result. And i would like to get only top 6 games, but for some reason, it give only the score i get from the PFP formula.

« on: September 14, 2009, 07:27:20 PM »
Well, i am not mastering the way of communicating the problem... let me rephrase... with screenshots.

I doubt Stats Genie does something wrong... but i doubt i do, which i am requesting help for.

Filter or not the scores are the same... whatever i put in the tournament formula or the overall scoring, i get the same result as if there was no formula at all in there. I am seeking to obtain the same score as i get on the stats genie page, which takes only the 6 best tournament of each player...

As i stated, the 3 formulas i used are the same, and i get the same result. It's useless to speak for the 2009 season anyway, we only played 5 tournament as we speak, so numbers are the same on TD than in stats genie as of yet, but it won't be the case after 7 tournaments. So i obviously do something wrong or else....

Help Me / Re: Overall Score formula... please help
« on: September 13, 2009, 08:48:01 PM »
Ok... i read a little on the subject, and this is still not working...

Points for Playing Formula (Game tab) is : (sqrt(((n * bc) * (bc / tc))) / (r + 1.0))+(nh*(nh+1)/10)

Tournament Scoring formula is: points

And then, using what you suggested, in the Overall Scoring, i am using what you suggested: sum(top(6, scores))

I am still getting odds numbers, which are different from Stats Genie that calculate the top 6 tournaments of each player... what's wrong?

General Discussion / Re: Tracking League Buy-in/fee
« on: March 27, 2009, 10:30:33 AM »
Basicly, we do the same... but i saved this using a member card... i will explain:

Any player at any satellite tournament earns points... regardless of their status.

I am selling a membership card, which, in statgenie, i make them a Regular (with member card) or a Spare L1 to L5 (depending on how often they play).

So when i send an invite, all regular members have priority on non-members to all tournaments, and for the championship, only members are invited... So when i run down the season points, only the members are calculated in the stats... Easier to manage this way, and it's the best way to manage this with ease...
