Help Me / Re: Suggestions for a Multi-day tourney.
« on: December 19, 2006, 12:28:34 AM »
Wow!!!  DC Rocker,

That would be an exciting tourney.  Here is what you have to do in order to run it just like the WSOP (although I never been there). :-[

If your tourney does not have a cutoff date for signing or you don't know how many on each day will arrive:

Your computer will need MS Excel or some spreadsheet program.
Go to cell A1.  Type “Leaders”.
Go to cell A2.  Type “Day1 001”.
Extend the series to your cutoff number“Day1 100.”
Go to cell A102.  Type “Day2 001”.
Extend the series to your cutoff number“Day2 100.”
Go to cell A202.  Type “Day3 001”.
Extend the series to your cutoff number“Day3 100.”
Go to cell B1.  Type “First name”.
Go to cell C1.  Type “Last name”.
Go to cell D1.  Type “Chip count”.
Create cell space for writing later.
Save file as “DC Rocker SOP”
File type CSV (comma deli)
Print this
You can import this as well.

When running tourney:
Create your play "down to" number each day, 300 down to 100 for example.
When you reach that number, stop playing, and conduct chip count.
Fill out to spreadsheet, update and save.
Updating in players tab is possible.
.
Create your levels for the entire tourney.
Start it where you desire.
Level 1 day 1-3
Level 12 day 4

After day 3 chip count.
Complete Spreadsheet and save.
Go to Players tab
Import file.

Based on tables and size you can issue seats.

If you have cutoff date for signing up, it will be easier.  Let me know and I can help.  Forgive me if I seem to be over-simplistic.
Below is an attachment for help.  I am excited for you.  When is your tourney?

Good Luck

General Discussion / Re: Procedure Question
« on: December 16, 2006, 06:46:31 AM »
Cruise,

When moving to the next hand, the FIRST thing to consider is WHO IS NEXT FOR THE BIG BLIND. That person will ALWAYS be the next person SEATED to the previous BB's LEFT(IT WILL ALWAYS MOVE). After that consider the person who had the BB before.  If they busted out. NO SB.  The button is to the right of SB.  If no SB then previous SB is dealer.  We have this discussion over and over and over at our home game.

In the intrest of fairness, if there is a showdown on a hand and no further action will be involved, the cards, if dealt improperly, can be reconstructed to reflect the proper flop turn or river.

Suggestions / Re: New Tournament Director Features

Yes,

If a hand is a three way all-in pot there is usually a sidepot.  Side pots, if any, are supposed to be dealt with in reverse order they were created.  So if a player is eliminated the person who won the pot that eliminated him/her gets credit for the hit.  This will prevent chopped prizes unless both eliminated players had the same amount prior to the start of the hand.

Suggestions / Re: Suggestion - table collapse
« on: October 09, 2006, 03:06:24 PM »
What I did was simply changed the table number at the time of movement so if a table 2 was scheduled to move players we changed it to table 3 and the collapsed table is now 2.  Keeping players moving toward the physically predetermined location.

Here COG,

Create three tables.  Name one of them "FINAL TABLE" and designate as such with 10 seats. The other two with 12 seats.  When the seating is suggested it will fill tables large enough to equally balance out the players prior to start of tourney.  If there is any problem, notify.

Here is a beta version of The Layout on at the WSOP based on homepokertourney.com.  I'm a beginner so constructive remarks only.  ;D  I used effective blank space technology the create the right feel.
