Help Me / Different Break lengths
« on: October 29, 2012, 11:35:28 AM »
I have 3 different break lengths in one of the tournaments I'm organising. 15 mins for colouring up, 30 mins for a buffet and 10 mins comfort break. How do I create an event for each seperate break with different sound files?

I've got the blind announcements up to 10,000-20,000.

I know they go higher - does anyone have them. I need up to 50,000-100,000

Many thanks in advance.

Help Me / Prize - fixed 'saver'
« on: May 12, 2012, 12:09:35 PM »
In my tournaments I pay out a fixed prize for last place. This is always the same as the entry money paid which is £15

So if I'm paying say 4 prizes then:

1st = 50%
2nd = 30%
3rd = 20%
4th = £15 (fixed)

Up to now on each tournament I simply add a 4th prize of £15 and TD automatically adjusts the first three prizes.

Is there a way of writing this into the prize configuration to save me doing it manually?

Help Me / NEVER NEVER NEVER mess with something if it works!!!!!!!!
« on: March 09, 2012, 06:12:26 PM »
I have been happily using version 2.5.12 on my laptop (Old with XP but I only use it for poker) with no problems.

A little popup told me there's a 'new version' so I thought OK why not, it should be better...        shouldn't it???

So I downloaded it sent off for my new licence number etc. and tried loading it - I should have been concerned when it needed IE8 but undeterred I upgraded to IE8 and continued to load the new 'better' version.

I have my tournaments set up in such a way that when loaded all I have to do is add players, which automatically buys them in, seat them randomly and press start and we're away. On the ‘Add Player To Tournament’ screen, I only want one list of names, how do I get rid of the other columns?

When seating players, I have a 9 seat table and an 8 seat table. When seating 8 players on the 9 seat table the old version would always put them in seats 1-8 leaving seat 9 free. The new version varies the ‘free’ seat despite checking the ‘seat players as near to seat 1 as possible’ in preferences. How do I persuade it to leave seat 9 free?

Now the BIG problem:

The clock does not display correctly. It seems to be keeping correct time overall but the display hesitates
so instead of:
15.00 – 14.59 – 14.58 – 14.57 – 14.56 – 14.55 – 14.54 – 14.53 – 14.52 – 14.51 – 14.50 – etc.
You get:
15.00 – 14.59 – 14.58 – 14.58 – 14.58 – 14.55 – 14.54 – 14.54 – 14.52 – 14.51 – 14.50

I was so impressed I tried to launch version 2.5.12 only to find all the layouts and database were missing and it couldn’t find them. (yes I know they’re not ‘lost’ but it will take time to set it all up again). It seems that this new version has ‘high jacked’ the data and hidden it from the earlier version!!!

I’m sorry but I can’t see the improvements or benefits of this upgrade and I really regret the change, I’ve had nothing but problems. However now that I have upgraded I need to get it sorted – especially the clock.

So to recap:
1.   How do I get rid of unwanted columns on the ‘Add Players To Tournament Screen’?
2.   How do I persuade it to leave the higher numbered seats clear?
3.   What can be done to improve the clocks erratic display?

No doubt I will find other problems but these are the main ones for now.

Help Me / SOLVED!!! - I'm obviously missing something!!!
« on: August 29, 2009, 05:51:08 PM »
Still messing about with this program deciding if it's for me.

Loaded it onto my desk top did a couple of fancy layouts based on the BPC_UltraDeluxe layout. After some help from here I got it working great.

Now the problem - I loaded TD2 onto my laptop and I can't persuade the BPC layout to work I just keep getting a white screen. I took great care to copy all the files over correctly.

Even reloading the layout into a saved tournament doesn't work.

...

I’m one of those kinds of people that just can’t leave things alone. This problem has REALLY bugged me – because there seems no reason why the Laptop should work any differently to the Desktop. I am certainly no technical guru, I’m more like those ‘dangerous’ people with a little knowledge.

I have however found the solution, even though I still don’t know why this works!!!

When TD is installed it creates a ‘Data’ folder on the ‘C’ drive in ‘My Documents’  and I’m sure I read on this forum somewhere that all images should be placed in that folder. WRONG! The clue was that every time I checked the layout it said it could not find the images even though the path was correct and it displayed in the background dialog box. As soon as I moved the images onto the ‘D’ drive it displayed all the background images perfectly.

Perhaps some technical guru out there might be able to explain it?

If it helps my Laptop is an Acer running XP.
