Help Me / Simple Points Formula... I think?
« on: June 16, 2010, 09:14:36 PM »
Hi everyone,

I simply want to give last place 2 points always and every next rank a multiple of 2 points. 3rd place would get a bonus point, 2nd a bonus 2 points and 1st a bonus 3 points. The number of players varies each game. Example:

1st: 18 + 3
2nd: 16 + 2
3rd: 14 + 1
4: 12
5: 10
6: 8
7: 6
8: 4
9: 2

What would be the formula to use for this? Thanks for your help!

C'mon give me some slack for not typing out the whole bracket... this gets rounded to a whole number: [(place / # of players) * 100]

Last place gets 1 point for coming. Makes you reconsider going all-in early in the rounds lol...

Here's what our league is using: 100 - [(place / # of players) * 100]

Note: I round the result of (place / # of players) to a whole number

Example: 2nd place in a 16 player game would be: 100 - [(2 / 16) * 100] = 87

The more players, the more points you get for placing since the odds of placing are higher. Last place always gets a point for coming. Please correct me if my equation is not written properly. It's been a while since I took Algebra :-)

I had a Dell 15" touchscreen monitor. Just make sure you have the latest drivers and that they are Windows 7 compatible. I had a hard time finding Vista drivers. I'm not sure how you would use Tournament director inconjunction with a touchscreen display since you need a keyboard to control the program... I guess you could use a virtual keyboard...

My laptop runs Tournament Director and VNC server. My iphone runs the VNC client. The Tournament Director screen shows on both the plasma screen connected to my laptop and on my iphone. I use the keyboard on my iphone to run all the keyboard controls. It's cool! The screen on the plasma doesn't move around, but does show the cursor and menu screens when I'm controlling it using the iphone.

Thank you for the VNC idea. I am now using Jaadu VNC to control my Tournament Director display remotely from my iphone and works like a charm! I am currently setting up 2 computers (1 running the app & 1 mirroring via Dameware) for multi-room play.

I like your logo. My only suggestion would be to have the word "Poker" in the same style as your "Central Maine" with the snow treatment.

Hi everyone, just wanted to share my league's screen layout. I created 2 different colored backgrounds to mix it up and with the built-in screen-saver feature helps reduce picture burn-in on the plasma display. I love The Tournament Director!
