We allow rebuys in our tourneys; and set add ons to limit 1 per player (entry).

When a player busts out, and then rebuys - in an add on tournament - will T.D. software allow that player to add  on again a 2nd time (since he just did his rebuy)?

Or will it prevent me from allowing that player from adding on again?

I'm not sure if T.D. treats a player who's rebuying after busting out as a NEW player or not.

I got remote access working pretty well using the latest TV (free for personal use).

BUT I cannot seem to select checkboxes when knocking players out of the tournament. Maybe a problem with the mouse clicking on TV but I dont know.

Anyone go this to work well for them and can tell me the trick?

Help Me / Best way to PAUSE CLOCK to color up without a break?
« on: September 06, 2011, 09:01:10 PM »
I have one tourney structure where I color up 25's after the 2nd round; but I don't want players to see 'BREAK' announced on the TD screen (and then get up and wonder off immediately).

Is there a way to automatically simply PAUSE the clock after say round 2 - so I can do color ups and then restart the clock as soon as I'm done?

The only solution I found so far is to have a '1 minute' break (but again I really dont want the screen to say 'Break').

Thanks.

I'm setting up a league and have a question regarding rounding.

Corey: What do most people do when setting up a league?  Round to nearest 2 decimal places?

I see settings in theTD:
  • points precision
  • score precision
Should I set these to both 2 places? Will doing this automatically round them then or simply truncate them to 2 decimal places?

Shouldn't they be set the same?

This is the first time I've had to look at rounding / scores/ etc.

I would like my overall aggregate scores (end of season) to be rounded to 2 places for all players.

Thanks for any help insofar as clearing this up for me!

Help Me / How to get summary report that shows EVERYONE'S ranking?
« on: July 28, 2011, 05:44:37 AM »
I get only the top 3 ranked players for a tourney when I generate this report. Is this because these are the only paid spots?

How do I get the ACTION SUMMARY of summary report to reflect everyone's position from 1st to last?

Thanks.

Do I need an online league management system?

I would like to know the most popular and easiest online league management systems are?

A little background: I dont want to use a spreadsheet, etc, or my pc. I want to use an online system which has the added advantage that I can past stats for all players to see.

Maybe I just need to export stats from TD to a web page?

I know some people here use StatsGenie. Is this the most popular? If I understand correctly, this requires all players/members to sign up with the web site. If this is not a requirement, then this site might be for me.

Features I'd like: Players do NOT have to go thru an online registration process / sign up process. I'd like for everyone to be able to just view their stats and the leaderboards, etc.

I also do NOT need an rsvp or invitation system (I already use one that my members are used to and like).

I've used TD for some time, but this is the first time I am thinking of creating a league with stats for members to see/enjoy!

Thanks for any suggestions.

I recently had a situation where a player had busted out of a tourney - and we'd not added in his add on.

When we tried to correct it by hitting 'b' for add ons, it did not allow us to mark that player as having paid the add on.

Therefore, the total prize pool was incorrect. How can we correct that if that happens again?

First, I need to clarify what we're doing.

We host a tournament where we build an excellent prize pool by offering the following format:

1. the initial buy of $20 in for 5,000 in starting chips;
2. one up front rebuy allowed for $10 for an additional 5,000 in chips;
3. one end of the first hour Add On allowed for $10 for an additional 5,000 in chips.

Players can rebuy during the first hour at any time they are at or below 5,000 in chips.

This means they can take 1 rebuy up front, since a player starts with just 5,000 in chips.

They can also add on only at the end of the first hour (for an additional 5,000 in chips; regardless of chip stack size).

We do this because we've found most people (who would not buy into a $30 buy in tourney) will do a rebuy up front - because they see it doubles there chip stack size and they see everyone else doing it. And, again, most people will do the add on because they see the chips as needed and see that most other players are doing this, also. This builds our prize pool very nicely  ;D

In Tournament Director, this what we've been doing: After putting in all the buy ins: we've been 1. starting the clock; 2. pausing the clock; 3. then hitting 'V' to do the up front rebuys, before the tournament actually begins; 4. then restarting the clock to begin the tournament.

Is there a simpler way to do this (without having to start then pause the clock, etc.) ?
