Templates, Layouts and Sounds / Re: Creating buttons in Layouts
« on: February 14, 2007, 09:44:43 PM »
I created a toolbox called "Controls" and put the following in the HTML:

Code: [Select]
<nobr>
<tdbutton type="previousround" text="Round -" inheritFont="true">
&nbsp;
<tdbutton type="nextround" text="Round +" inheritFont="true">
&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;
<tdbutton type="addplayers" text="+ Player" inheritFont="true">
&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;
<tdbutton type="buyin" text="Buy-in" inheritFont="true">
&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;
<tdbutton type="bustout" text="Bust Out" inheritFont="true">
&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;
<tdbutton type="clock" text="Pause" inheritFont="true">

I then added the "Control" toolbox as the last row of my layout.

I can't remember where I found this, but it was probably somewhere on this site.  I'm sorry to whoever posted it originally, and that I'm not giving credit where credit is due.

Help Me / Re: Is there a way to assign points to a non Buy-in player?

So the TD does actually play?  If that's the case, I think you would just have to do as you said: add points to their score next time.

One other suggestion, rather than Save-as at the end of the tourney, you should do so at the start.  Then you can save as you go along (never know when you PC might decide to take a dump).  Also, I have forgotten before and just saved....over an existing tournament!  DOH!

Could you just buy them in for $0?

Help Me / Re: Moving TD 2.2
« on: January 26, 2007, 10:40:21 AM »
I had to do the same thing.  What I found easiest was to install TD on the computer I was moving too, then just copy the entire TD folder from Program Files of the old computer over top of the TD folder on the new PC.    Also, if you have any other folders for TD, you'd just move those to the same path on the new PC.  (I had a TD Sounds folder that was in the root of C:)

Neat idea.  I may incorporate this idea as a 'bonus' game for my league this year, but I'll probably do it as a "money-added" game so that winners are guaranteed at least some cash.

Thanks for sharing!

In addition to our own website, we use StatsGenie, which is also free.  We export directly from Tournament Director to StatsGenie.  See our club's stats here: http://www.statsgenie.com/poker/default.aspx?OrgID=1408

I assume you'll be running some pretty large games.  I play with 32-50, and they come from either word-of-mouth from my other players or inquiries on our website.

For my town, there's a website that lists all the local charity games.  http://www.derbycitypoker.com/  If your area doesn't already have something like this, why not start one?  You could allow others to list their events as well, thus increasing traffic and ensuring more people see the info about your own event.

Good luck!

Help Me / Re: Season ranking: best ten results out of twelve?
« on: December 12, 2006, 11:26:23 PM »
I have uploaded my stats all season to Stats Genie (free) and I just found out that you can setup a league to only rank the top x number of tournaments.

We used best 5 of 8 for 2006.  After the 5th tournament, I used an Excel spreadsheet to keep track.  But today, as I was setting up our 2007 season, I saw that you can do it with Stats Genie!

Help Me / Re: Points
« on: December 12, 2006, 11:04:54 PM »
That's the same point system that I use, except that we also award 1 point for each hit and we award extra all points to 5th.  My formula is (n)-(r)+1+(nh)+max(6-(r), 0)

It's too late for me to try to figure out how to modify it so that its only the top 3 get bonus points, but hopefully this will get you started.

Macacan, when I first read it, I thought you were looking for link exchanges.  As my visitors wouldn't benefit from a link to a club in the UK, I didn't post a reply.

However, I have no problem with you linking to my website if you don't expect a reciprocal link.  If you want a description to put with it, use:

Thanks!

What do you use for trophies?

This is the first year of our league.  At each tournament, I gave the winner a black silicone bracelet (think Lance Armstrong bracelet) that had the four suits and ALL IN on it.  For the championship next week, I have had a titanium bracelet made featuring our logo.

I got it from IronDog Industries, and was $19 USD.  These guys were an absolute pleasure to work with.

Post your favorite trophy ideas and links!
