Editing the Player Export HTML file
« on: December 21, 2008, 07:14:06 AM »
I use the player export option at the end of the tourney to make a HTML copy of the finishing positions.

I would like to add some information to this such as number of players, date, my details, venue details etc.

I see there are some tags used such as <eventname>, <description>, <playerrows> and <playercolumns>.

Can someone give me a list of TD tags I can use?

Thanks

All of the tokens can be found in the included user manual.  Look in the "Exporting Data" section towards the end.

Thanks, I have found that.

It seems that the tags are not interchangable between the different templates?

Each export has its own set of tokens that can be used, but the same token name has been used across exports when the information is the same.  Is there something you'd like to be able to insert that's available in one export but not in another?

Thats right.

Would it be difficult to make the all tags available to all templates?

Obviously if you tried to use a tag before it was set then it would be empty (for example if you tried to use the <endtime> tag durning a game).

Well, it would certainly take some work, but it wouldn't necessarily be "difficult".  But not all tokens are appropriate for all exports.  So, it might be easier if you could just make a request for specific tokens for specific exports, and I'll evaluate them and put something on the to-do list.

I've managed to do what I wanted with the tournament export template. the only problem with that is that I can only do that at the end of the tourney.

The info I need is
  • List of player names
  • date
  • number of players
  • event name
  • description

I think thats a full list.

These are all already available as part of the tournament export.  What am I missing?

But I can only do a tournament export after the tournament has ended, can't do it during tournament
