There's an option to turn them off in the next beta.

Great (then I just have to wait for Beta 5  ;D)

Regarding Player Movement screen as discussed earlier, I would also prefer an option to set how long the Player Movement screen would be shown on screen and then automatically go back to Main Screen. Is that possible?

The option to display the Player Movement screen after accepting a player movement suggestion simply switches to the Player Movement screen, as if you had done it by pressing F5.  Here's how you can make it display for a specified amount of time automatically using the next beta: http://www.thetournamentdirector.net/forums/index.php?topic=2710.0

kewl, glad it works well for you.  Still looking for that print dialogue suppressant, far too much code and tech knowledge required looking at the posts on the internet though for me to understand.

All my entries are carried out manually with a receipt printer but the print dialogue pops up on the extended display which is a total pain in the arse, looks poor and slows down registration waiting for the print dialogue during each entry - not handy!

Stu

I still haven't figured out a way to get that to open in a pre-determined spot.  But I did add a feature today that tells the TD to try to push that "Print" button on the print dialog automatically.  Seems to work pretty well on my system.  So the dialog will still open, but it goes away instantly as the TD "sees" the window open and sends the keystroke to tell it to proceed with printing.  Not the optimal solution but hopefully will help.

I think that will be enough Corey, thanks very much for helping with it! I realise looking at posts about IE print dialogue suppressants that it is a security issue to send direct to a printer, so I think TD keystroking the enter on print dialogue is a good step forward, especially with the difficulties with different printers and drivers etc.  It would obviously be easy if it was a system like cardroom magic as they put the same system and same printer set-up in every casino, so no variance to account for.

Can't wait to try it out - Will it only keystroke receipts or will it keystroke all print dialogues from TD?  My next big event (using a receipt printer) is 16th April so will be great if Beta 5 is out by then for that tourney with about 150 players.

Cheers

All print dialogs (except for printing the user manual).  But if necessary this could be changed.  I haven't gone through every scenario to see if there are any that should omit this behavior.

Trying my best!  I'm really down to just a very few items.

kewl,

It would be handy if it was receipts only that were keystroked, with anything else that is exported to the printer still being dialogued so it can go to a full-size printer if used.

Otherwise though, it would be simple enough to change to default printer once reg is closed so that everything else is printed onto an A4/Letter size printer

I agree.  I will probably add a preference to specify where the "auto print" feature will be effective.

Hi Winch,

I am using a serial scanner, so unfortunately I have not experienced the same challenge interfacing my scanner that you are encountering.

You may just need to search the internet for solutions. Perhaps you can find a Virtual USB to Serial driver - I believe you would just need to find a driver or application that will route the USB data from your scanner through a virtual serial port so that Twedge has a connection point.

I often use USB to Serial adaptors as my laptop does not have a serial port. Maybe you can find a serial to USB adaptor??
