Help Me / Upgrade from 2.0 to 2.2
« on: October 12, 2006, 02:01:57 PM »
Corey,

This week will be the last week for my 10 week league and I would like to upgrade to version 2.2.

Will I still be able to load the older tournaments and use the stats page for the previous version after the upgrade? All of the templates have been renamed, so I don't think these will be changed. Will the players in my database be the same? I have read in the forum there is an identifier that the users don't see and I don't want to mess any of that up, so how do I make sure they stay the same?

This software is the best but I'm always a little worried to upgrade because everything is working perfect as is. Having you in charge though, I shouldn't be scared one bit. I know you will do everything you can to get it back up and running. Great job Corey!!

Thanks for everything,
Tim

Help Me / Re: Dealer button designation

Our rules suggest the player sits out the next hand or two and pass the deal past the player. This makes all of the blinds correct and keeps anyone from hitting the blind back to back if they are moved. You may also miss blinds if they were coming to you before you moved but it's better than having someone PO'd.

Just my 2 cents.

General Discussion / Re: Ideas for Teams / Leagues

I just finished a 10 week session for our league. What is it you are looking for?

I can either post our league structure or you can email me your details and I can reply with them (timothy@myactv.net)

Corey,

I haven't downloaded and tested 2.2 (currently using 2.0) but wasn't a feature added to make a seat unavailable? Once a few people busted out, couldn't you just make a few seats unavailable so the tables won't collapse until there are 10 people remaining?

I plan to download the new version next week once my league is over and use the new version for the next one.

Thanks,
Tim

Suggestions / Re: Suggestion - table collapse
« on: October 12, 2006, 10:58:05 AM »
- Allow a table elimination order to be specified
- If an order has been specified, then when a table can be collapsed, we go through the ordering and eliminate the first table in that list that is still in use and qualifies (tables can be of differing sizes, so it is possible that eliminating a particular table might not balance things)
- If an order has not been specified, do what is currently done, which is minimize player movement

It's "on the list"....

This would be a great addition. Keep up the great work Corey.

bret,

The new version of TD has been great and it's worth the extra time to learn the new features. If you still plan to continue using an older version, I still hope you register because Corey definitely deserves the small fee he charges.

Thanks for everything Corey and keep up the great work.

Help Me / Re: Place awarded question

But will TD award both players that busted out with the same amount of points and will the player that knocked them out get two hits?

Help Me / Re: Split Pot Knock Out...

Because of the complexity to add this feature to TD, we just use the same thing, whoever has more chips gets the hit. I have heard some posts that give the hit to the person to the left of the dealer (which we use for an extra chip in the pot on a split pot). I think it is more fair to give the person with the most chips the hit.

Help Me / Place awarded question
« on: September 18, 2006, 11:12:36 AM »
What happens when one player takes out more than one person, how does TD determine who gets what place? We are currently knocking one person out at a time when this happens and the person with the most chips gets the higher position.

Thanks,
Tim

You are correct in that when adding new players to your database, the "league" selection is ignored.  I had to go back and check this one.  I make updates to the software nearly every day and even I forget what's been done.  On May 29, I fixed this bug: "Fixed previous bug that didn't set the selected league when adding a new DB player".  So this fix will show up in the next release.

Corey, I noticed this problem too and I am about to start a league this coming weekend. How do I add new players to a league if it is ignoring the drop down box? Also, when I set a points formula on the main screen, will these points be awarded in the stats page? My league is going to award 15 for 1st, 14 for 2nd, 13 for 3rd and so on. After 10 weeks, I would like to check the stats page to see who leads the league with the most points and award them prizes.

Awesome program. Just started using the new version and am still learning all of it's functionality. This is my first league and may need help with using TD's league functionality.

Thanks,
Tim
