General Discussion / Re: Heads-Up Tournament
« on: October 22, 2007, 12:52:36 PM »
I hold a heads up tournament every month and I use TD. First I create six blind rounds per heads up round. Each heads up round is 1 hr. Depending on how many entries you have determends how many blind rounds you will create. Because of time constraints  you either win by eliminating your opponent or having the most chips at the end of the headsup round. See attachment for round setup.

Round 1 10m  5-10
Round 2 10m 10-20
Round 3 10m 20-40
Round 4 10m 25-50
Round 5 10m 50-75
Round 6 10m 50-100

The schedule on top is a T1000  schedule and could be used with a chip distribution of 15 (T5) + 13 (T25) + 6 (T100)

I create as many 2 man tables as needed and one large table for the overflow if you don't have enough tables and have people waiting.

Then I use a headsup bracket spreedsheet I created to organize the players that move to the next round. Please see attached spreedsheet.

I hope this helps.

Help Me / Re: Moving TD 2.2
« on: October 22, 2007, 08:40:53 AM »
I have just gone through the same thing. I just got a new laptop.  Everything moved over fine with the coping of the entire TD directory but my database some how got jacked up. It has duplicate names and blank entries. I did a database backup and restore first. Then copied the entire TD dir. It was probably my fault. I was rushing becuase I had a tournament to run that night and wanted to use the new laptop. Any ideas on how to fix the DB?

Help Me / upgraded to 2.4 and sound events all screwed up
« on: September 10, 2007, 02:01:53 PM »
I just upgraded to 2.4 TD and my new round level sound events got screwed up. At the begining of each round I have a sound bite stating the current blinds. Now for every round its the same sound bite. "The blinds are now 25 & 50". I try and edit the conditions and change the round number but it does not work. Need help ASAP have to run a tourny today at 8:00PM

For screen rotation we would have to ask Corey. I have tried with no success.

Help Me / Formula double your pleasue Double your fun
« on: November 13, 2006, 10:41:15 AM »
I am currently using this formula (n)-(r)+1+(nh) but I need a formula that will double the points for hits and placement.

With the current formula if their are 5 players

1st place will get 5 points
2nd place will get 4 points
3rd place will get 3 points and so on

if you knock out a person you get 1 point.

I want to double it

so if their are 5 players

1st place will get 10 points
2nd place will get 9 points
3rd place will get 8 points and so on

if you knock out a person you get 2  points.

Thanks

Help Me / Re: What is the default scoring system?
« on: October 12, 2006, 03:48:20 PM »
Yes. Some of my players have played in may tournaments and have a lower ranking than people who just played one. I am sure I have to create a formula to calculate points but I would like to know what the default system is.

If the tourney is really busy I do skip movements occasionally then move people when it calms down. Could skipping movements then making a large move cause a problem?
