Suggestions / Re: Automatic Prizes configuration / Display
« on: September 24, 2015, 12:24:05 AM »
I got one problem using that. I just make mine after reading the post.
for example:
      <prizeLevel minPlayers="34650" maxPlayers="38499">
      <prize rank="1" name="1-9 Place" nonmonetary="WPT Montreal $3,850 Seats" />
      <prize rank="10" name="{1} Place" percent="100" adjustby="-34650" />
    </prizeLevel>

Everything work perfectly fine, except for 2 little things, when the pot reach $0 as  you mention it, it show zero, which is not really a problem. Players can see how many money left in the pot before they got another seat, i like to see the $0 on the screen so no big deal here.

My other problem is that we have Mega Overlay Satellite in which the place ADD 5 seat of $3,850 to the prizepool. So using that formula i was thinking i will just write it in the house contribution, but it seems like the program does not count it toward the pot and give all of the $19,250 to the 100% position. So instead of $350 the position 10 receive $19,600.

I was thinking about adding contribution to the Pot int he level, but seems like i don't know the right way to write it or the right name.
something like this (i try different one also):
  <levelSelection method="formula">
    <predefined countBuyins="true" countRebuys="false" countAddOns="false" />
    <formula text="pot+housecontribution" />
  </levelSelection>

As for the Guaranteed everything work perfectly fine, i have 1 player in the tournament and it shows 2 seats for a $7,700 guaranteed and 3rd at $0. Until we pass the guaranteed.

If you have any idea, otherwise its not a big deal for now until it will be fix (if possible). I will just write something somewhere in the title the 5 seats will be added at the end of the late registration or something like that so players know they are not in the count they see.

Suggestions / Re: Seating Players and Balanced Tables
« on: September 23, 2015, 05:55:13 PM »
I would like to say that giving that kind of control to TD totally goes against the random seating. Seating a player as far as the dealer as possible like you suggest, mean if you get in the tournament early you will get the seat in the middle of the table, if you wait you might get the end of the table. By this players will be able to keep an eye on the tournament and enter when they want to have the postion on players they want in the tournament (at least have more luck to have the seat they want)

Random seating is part of the poker, everyone have to deal with the position they have at one time in their poker experience. No one has to have the advantage to be able to see everyone by having a better view because he is at the end of a table. I understand the brothers, wife, husband might be a problem. But being able to drag and drop a player in TD is there for that and accommodate the players when needed. But when you play a tournament with low amount of tables. It has to be expected to play on the same table as your friends.

Friendly customer is good... i mean great do to. But at some point the game as to stay the game and rules are there to avoid giving advantage to another player. By experience and thousand of customer every month i can tell you. Customer always have something to complain. They come late, but they want random seating when everything is full, they want to get in right now and they wants full stack. (depend if you blind out or not). You gotta give some fault to the player who is not showing up at the start of the tournament, which is not helping you opening the right amount of table. Seating friends at the same table is not the end of the world, as  long as you move them as soon as possible or try to change their seat before they play if you can. Player will understand. 2 tables and 4 friends... kind of hard to help there. But when you open the other 2 tables you move them. Its gonna help you start the other table and they also be happy, or they wont want to move because finally they have fun together.

In resume, my point is, don't give to much to the customer. Don't be too hard on them ether. They wont run away from the place, they will respect the place. The more right you give them the more problem you gonna have when time come to rule something.

P.S. Use the random seating, and make unavailable every odd seat on every table for example. as soon as you have 5 seat sold on every table, open every seat 5 for example. and fill up equally the table and go on and on like that. This will help in randomising your customer even if you have 3 friends in a row. This is the technique use pretty in every big Casino around the world.

What he need is a formula that take into account 15 tournaments but only the best 10 are taken into account.

He also want to add to that top 10 best scores of each players, points made from Sit&Go they played.  Is it possible to do that? if so how?

That is his main question. Hope the translation help you!

Help Me / Need help with a Formula Please
« on: July 13, 2014, 10:41:44 AM »
Im having a bit of a hard time with the If in my formula, just not sure I use it correctly

assign("PtRebuy",(abs(nr-1)))
if(PtRebuy=0,1,if(r<=mr,(((n + tnr) - r  + 1 + nh + ((pw / pp) * (n+tnr))) * PtRebuy),((n + tnr) - r  + 1 + nh)*PtRebuy))

I think its just too long for nothing lol

What I need is 1 pts par rank, 1 pts per Kill and the players in the money get the %  of the prizes in points added to the rank and kill. My problem is with the rebuy, before that it was 1 pts for the rebuy. I want it to give Half of the pts they would have without rebuy.

Thanks for the help

If you press the "Show Last Balance" button you'll see it there, too.
Yes we got it also when we are going on the final table, we suggest movement on the last two table to move all players on the final table. Then we delete the empty one and you can see empty table on the screen and the seat. Same when you print it after you delete it as you said in the show last balance.

Thanks for taking the time to thoroughly describe the problem.  I'll certainly fix this for the next release.
always happy to help!!!

Suggestions / Adjust Chip Count
« on: May 19, 2014, 11:21:23 PM »
We have multi day tournament here and when a player qualified for the more then one day 1, he keep the higher Stack  and the others chips are forfeited.

We enter the amount forfeited in the tournament in the adjust Chip Count under the Game TAB which was -370,000 and the total count was good. Day 2 is now over, tournament is save and close.

Day 3 start we open the tournament and the total chip count is not good, when i look at the Adjust Chip count it was now showing +370,000. I put it back to -370,000 and it was good for the day.

I same the tournament close et open it again and its the same thing, seem like TD keep track of the chip count written but not the negative.

Suggestions / Re: Player movement Wrong seating on Screen
« on: May 19, 2014, 11:14:33 PM »
My bad for the Explanation, it was 4am after a 16h shift lol

My four Day 1 are over, i kept only the last 347 players who qualified for the day 2 over the 1439 Players Totals.

I export the name of each day 1 and then import them into a new tournament which will be my Day 2.

I have all the name in the unseat column. I need 39 Table 9 way for the 347 But by error i had 40 open. I then Press Suggest movement to have a random seating for everyone for the Day 2. Doing it this way allow me to have the Players movement Screen to show everyone their seat on every Screen in the place. at that point there is no problem or error on the screen nor on the Table table.

The error occur (and only on the screen) when i delete table 34 which is empty.

For the Table TAB, it make no difference, every players are at the right seat, i have 39 table  full (except for the 4 seat) and 34 is gone. But the screen that was showing all the seat change the way i was describing it. All name on the screen that was Showing 70 seat 1, 70 seat 2, 70 seat 3..... are now showing as  (empty space) seat 1, (empty space) seat 2.....

everyone that is on the Table TAB on table 69 that was showing  69 seat 1, 69 seat 2, 69 seat 3.... are now shown as 70 seat 1, 70 seat 2.....

All the way like that for all table that was after table 34 in the Table TAB. Because when i deleted table 34 all subsequent table have move one space to the left and up in the Table TAB.

Let me try to give you and much simple example

You have Table 1, Table 2 and Table 3. You set your collapse order this way   Table 2 then 3 then 1 (first to collapse)

You have 18 players (you are in 9 ways)  in the unseat column, you press suggest movement to seat everyone randomly and have the movement on the screen. The program will seat everyone on table 1 and 3 and leave table 2 empty.

Now on your screen you see the names and the seat where the players are right now. You leave the screen on Players movement. Delete Table 2 (which is empty)

Your table 3 in the Table TAB will move to the left to as usual when you delete a table. All players that was on table 3 are still there at the same table and same seat. But if you look at your screen you gonna see all that was was with Table 3 seat 1,2,3 are now  (empty space) seat 1, 2, 3 ..... But table 1 Still good on the screen.

Same thing having Table 1 2 3 4 and 5, Table 3 is empty. you move the player on 1 2 4 and 5 then you delete table 3 which will be empty and you will see all name on 5 become (empty space) seat 1, 2....  and all name on 4 become table 5 seat 1, table 5 seat 2.....

Table 1 and 2 remain the same on the screen because they have not move in the table TAB.

I hope this is more clear

Suggestions / Player movement Wrong seating on Screen
« on: May 18, 2014, 03:34:46 AM »
I just found one little fuck up bug and kind of funny at the sametime.

I just sat down the 347 players remaining for the Day 2 of our Event #1, using the suggest movement option on the Table TAB.  Before i seat everyone i created 40 tables but i needed only 39 since its a 9 way on day 2.
The bug is on the screen its shows the right seat with the right name.

All my table are in numerical order and they are named 17-18-19... and up to 34 then 49 up to 70.  i already selected the collapse order which will be 34 and down to 17 then 70 down.  So table 34 is in the middle of all the table in the table Tab.

I press suggest movement, TD sat down everyone and none on 34 because of the collapse order. Everything is good on the screen, right name and the right seat. Then i deleted table 34 since i don't need it.

Now the Suggest movement on the screen show all the players on 70 to be at no table and just the seat, all players on 68 are now at the same seat but on 69, all 67 on 68 and so on down to the table before where 34 was.  I can see its simply because the order of theses table moves in the Table TAB.  All others table from 17 to 33 was fine.

I create table 34 (which appear at the end of the list of table. and everyone on 70 appear on screen at 34. i Sort the Tables in numerical order so table 34 goes back where it was and all name came back at right seats.

Sorry if its a long explication but, i wanted to make sure you got all the information on how i found it and how you can reproduce it yourself so you can understand and fix it.

The Thing with doing a buyin with addon and not, even if you make it on another name for the rake, its all show at the same place in the summary. I mean the rake for the house and the Bonus will all show as buyin under rake. We need to have it separate, that's why we use the addon for that. Like i said its not a big deal to not have it, it would be a good add or simply a better way to details the summary.

Why not offer the dealerbouns at initial buy in, and not at the table, then you could have 2 buy in profile like:

Name: Regular Buy In
Buy in: $60
Chips: 13000
Rake: "your normal rake"

and/or

Name: Buy In with Dealerbonus
Buy in: $65
Chips: 16000
Rake: "your normal rake"
DealerRake: $5

This way the Addon will go in the Rake section, and its not going for the house but for the Tips share of the dealers. Even if you have a separate name for the rake it all goes at the same place in the summary, you can only see the difference in the Stats Tab.

I see (I think).  So ultimately the issue is separating the "bonus" from the other add-ons.  It's a reporting issue.  You want to be able to see (or show) how many bonuses were purchased, how much $$ this added to the pot ($0 for you, actually, since it goes to the dealers, but others would want this), how many chips were added to the tournament because of this, etc.  Today you can use Add-on profiles to facilitate the *purchase* of bonus chips separately from other add-on(s), but there's no way to report the count/cash/chips separately from the other add-ons.

The TD would probably need (1) to be able to view the data on the Summary tab broken down by profiles; (2) add some layout tokens that allowed you to display the information per profile; and (3) add some formula variables to be able to access the various data by profile.

Am I going in the right direction?

Exactly!!

If you want to do a tournament with 16k in starting chip for 60$ but you add the services of dealers at the table, you spread the cost of the dealer on the players instead of taking more rake. That's what the dealer addons is there for.  So you set your tournament to 13k for $60 Starting stack and you offer 3k more in chip with the dealer at the table for a $5 tips to them. This way you are able to offer dealer in your tournament without affecting much your cost and its not really costing much more to the players also. Still the players are free to not take it.

So ...... the players at a table get to decide if they want a dealer?  And everyone has to agree to it and cough up the extra $$ for the dealer?  Is that how it works?  I assume this is for a single-table tournament.  And what happens if not everyone decides to pay the extra?
[/quote]

The dealer is provide no matter what, the players have the right to not take the Dealer bonus if they don't want to. It change nothing. so you can have like 15 tables with dealers. The dealer are paid anyway. When the player get to the table, he get 13k for starting stack and the dealer offer 3k more for $5. If the player don't want it, its not a problem, he simply start with 13k when all the others players start with 16k. Its kind of the same as the usual Addon at the break; some take it and other don't. Its simply done at the start of the tournament (before a player play his first hand).

As for the program, we are using the addon section for this kind of addon. But it prevent us from offering and Addon at the break. We can, its just not compile in the summary. Which is not good for us. A 4th section maybe called "Bonus" would solve that problem.

The dealer Add-ons has nothing to do with the game itself, like rebuy or Break Addons.

The reason to have its own section in the summary is simply to be able to have a separate count for accountability reason. Like i said we work around this little problem so its not a big deal. I leave it up to  you to had it or not. Its not really a request but more of something that would be good to had since its the usual in all casino and poker room to use the dealer add on and it become more and more common in smaller game also.

To answer your quote is yes, dealer addon are raked so not going in the pot since its a tips that goes for them. the addon is money that goes in the pot. As it is set up right now you cant do both at the sametime.

Its the old Problem of the Dealer Addon versus the Addon...
If i remember correctly Jody ask you long time ago but it was problematic to do it.

Maybe we can look into it again, things may have change in this direction.  Personally we use the Addon section for the Dealer Bonus (dealer addon)  for exemple  50$buyin+$10 Fee + 5$ dealer Addon.

We use the buyin and the Addon section which is set to 3k for 5$

The problem it brings is that if you do that you cannot make a real addon at the break. or if you do you cant use the dealer addon.  Would be good to have another section like buyin addon and rebuy exactly the same, with his own section (line in the take-in, rake and Pot section) of the summary also. This will help to give more option to the players but also keeping a good track of the money in the tournament.
