Thanks Corey, that's exactly what I was looking for. This time I'll write it down!

"Then you have a Tournament Score formula that appears unrelated to Points"

Exactly...I have different values for "points" and "score". I guess what I'm missing is where "score" comes from and how it is different from "points". Any formula to drop the lowest two games entered in the "Overall Score Formulas"  fields don't affect the points, and points are what we use to determine the championship. So my question is how do I get total score to match total points? Then my formula to drop two games in the "Overall Score" field will work. You can see the difference in the attached stats export.

Tournament score is (n-r+1)*3. In addition, I award 20 points for a buyin and 2 points for a hit; I deduct 5 points for a rebuy  and deduct 3 points for an addon. There is another 10 points for finishing 1st, 5 points for 2nd, 3 points for 3rd and 2 points for 4th. On the stats screen these all combine for cumulative series points; I'm trying to create a second column on the stats screen that shows the sum of the above, but after dropping your two worst scores. I had it setup before but I cant' recall where how I got the column with points after drops.

Help Me / Display Points With Drops

How do I display points with dropped games? I use the formula sum(top(10, scores)) to filter the best 10 of our 12 tourney series. The points column shows the total points for all tourneys, I need a column on the stats screen to reflect the points with dropped games. I had it working before, but I had to reinstall TD and lost lots of stuff; I can't for the life of me remember how I made it work before. Any help is appreciated!

Help Me / Re: Lock Player Seat Problem
« on: May 17, 2010, 08:51:34 AM »
Stuart,

Thanks for the tip on the player seating list, I didn't think to look on the layout screen. Good advice on the clock, right now I'm at two tables, next week three, so it isn't a big time loss yet. As I get quicker at making the changes I'm sure the clock won't be stopping.

Thanks,
Jeff

Help Me / Re: Script Debugging Error
« on: May 16, 2010, 10:12:42 AM »
Using TD 2.5.10 on a Win 7-32 Pro laptop with 4gb RAM and IE 8.0.7600.16385 here. I've been running TD weekly for 3 months for single table games and never saw the script message. We played our first multi-table game Friday and the script error popped up three or four times during the game. I replied no, the dialog closed, and I didn't have any instability issues. I checked my IE options this morning after reading this thread, and both Disable Script Checking boxes were checked, and the Display a Notification box was UNchecked. The error occurred when I was busting a player out, but not always, and I didn't notice if it had anything to do with a player move. I have auto save checked. I'll write down the message and circumstance if I see it again and pass it along. Hope this helps.

Help Me / Re: Lock Player Seat Problem

Thanks Stu for your response. That makes sense that I'm giving TD conflicting information by setting the buttons and then asking not to be moved if I'm in the same seat relative to the button. I figured it would just ignore me and select the player to my left, which is what I will do manually unless an alternate solution comes up. It doesn't take much time to set the buttons and do the move, and players bolt for the restroom/kitchen whenever I stop the clock anyway, so no one complains about the time spent.

Corey, I'm sitting at table 1, and I have my table set last to collapse (i.e. it's the final table), so my table never collapses. Unchecking the "automatically randomize final table" stopped TD from trying to move me when the final table is set, so that's resolved.

I've run several test tournaments and TD still tries to move me even though I'm locked. It's not a big deal, it's easy enough to do as Stu suggested and manually drag the player to be moved to his new seat (using TD of course, not actually dragging him). Nobody wants to be moved, and having the computer select and reseat a player is just one less thing for players to complain about.

On the other topic in my OP, do you have any thoughts on displaying player seating as a list and not graphically?

Thanks, Jeff

Help Me / Lock Player Seat Problem
« on: May 15, 2010, 12:27:46 PM »
I just ran my first multi table tournament using TD to seat and move players. As TD and banker, I want to remain in seat 1 at table 1, so I lock myself into this seat on the table tab. Before busting a player I set the dealer buttons at each table, bust the player, then let TD reseat players. About 25% of the time it tries to move me to another table even though the table screen says I'm still locked in to T1-S1. When we get down to the final table it always tries to move me to a different seat. Is there something else I need to do to disqualify myself from moving?

Also, when I select F4 I would like to have a list of tables and players displayed in large type similar to the F5 player movement screen rather than the default table diagrams, which are small, hard to read and don't match my tables well. Is there an easy way to do this or am I into building something custom?

Thanks, Jeff

Help Me / Re: Message Changes by Round
« on: April 19, 2010, 07:05:20 PM »
I was hoping to find a way to change the text in the message cell, but this is almost as good. Is there a way to change where the message displays? I'd like to keep it up for a minute or two and it covers the timer cell; it would help if I could move it down.

I have a message line at the bottom of my TD screen. Is there a way to have the message change with each round? I'd like to alert players of upcoming breaks, end of the rebuy period and the like.

Help Me / Re: Cell Won't Display
« on: April 06, 2010, 02:21:06 PM »
Thanks for the ideas everyone! As I suspected though, the problem was with me. The button was added to the Even screen, which I don't use. Once I added the button to the Main Screen it displays as it should. Corey, this is a great product. All of the players in my home league loved it when I ran it last Friday night; I'll be buying a license this week. I can see from reading the forums that support, which is always a concern, won't be an issue. If I had one suggestion it would be adding a "TD for Dummies" section to the help system. There's a lot if detail there, but most of it doesn't make sense until you have spent several hours under the hood, so to speak.

Thanks again to all who tried to help!

Help Me / Re: Cell Won't Display
« on: April 04, 2010, 06:04:14 PM »
I'm adding it to the bottom. The screen is full right now, how do I increase the screen area? I deleted properties for even rounds and breaks. I'm sure it's something basic, but I can't find anything in help on increasing the screen area. When I change font sizes in cells in the left or right columns it auto sizes everything to fit, so I just assumed adding a row or cell to the bottom would auto size everything above to fit. Thanks.

I'm trying to add a cell for buttons to one of the default layouts. I inserted a new cell below the bottom row and copied all of the properties from the included button layout but the cell doesn't display. "Display Cell" is checked. I'm sure it's something simple but I can't find a solution in the help screen.
