this was if i had a diff number of people... i can give them different points depending on number of players.. etc
so now i would like to use your new code. but have this in there some where...
and also have the no. points for hits too.

Bixby, good question, yeah I like the idea of that too.
My next season is going to be run over 10 weeks.
And i was thinking of doing the same thing, best 8 of 10.

Cause we all know that not every game do you get the right cards.
Nor does bluffing work some times.

And good to hear it might be added for a new version.

Yeah thats was what i meant, that the player that knocks out the player in 10th place gets 20% of their points (10th places points) for the knock out.
and then the player who knocks out the 9th player gets 20% of their points (9th place points)

but as each game may vary in number of players, it would have to be a a formula that allows that to happen.

thats OK, if it cant be done. then ill just have to come up with another way.

So another question for you...

Is there away that I can set the points for bust outs something like this...

If a player busts out one person, they get say 20 points...
Bust out 2 they get 50
Bust out 3 they get 90
Bust out 4 they get 125
Bust out 5 they get 160
Bust out 6 they get 200
Bust out 7 they get 250

or something like that that i can then later change to suit the points given out for playing etc.

would that be some what easier to include into my already running formula?

My first season finished off nicely, and now looking at making a couple of changes to the current setup.
Im currently running a system like below... (only showing the 10-13 player at the moment... formula is huge)

But now we wish to include a similar points sytem for the bust outs.
Below is an example of the system

Based on a 10 player game, points are awarded something like this...
330, 240, 160, 130, 100, 80, 50, 40, 35, 30.

Points for busting out the first person would be
20% of 30... making it 6 points.
20% of 35... making it 7 points.
...
20% of 100... making it 20 points.
20% of 240... making it 48 points.

Is there a way that I can (or some one) can make a formula to award a player for busting some one out, based on the points that, the person knocked out would make, that I can add to the forumla i have above or some where else.

My formula consists of 5 or 6 different IF statements based on a number of players playing.

I'm guessing I would have to put into the formula some where that the points would be Rank points / 20%. to get the points to be awarded... but where to put that i have no idea... and i don't want it to clash with the current system.

Ok thanks Corey... it shouldn't be that hard to work out after the 5 games.... what the players points are *200.
So ill worry about that when it comes to the Grand Final, and then ill just setup a new tourney already with the players.
And their chips for buy in... and for the Payouts... ill work out how much I have in the pool. and then use Fixed ammonts
And as for the drinks... well ill just have to keep track of that some where else.

Unless there is a variable like the rake that i can set the player to $1+ or something? which when they buy a drink
I just add the amount onto their info or something.

Not a huge deal. but if u think of away i can do that just to keep track of the money spent in each game.

Another quick question

I have a 10 player game, where I want to capped the blinds at round 6 1000/2000
if there is still 4+ players in the game, and then change it once a player goes out.
and then again 1500/3000 cap if 3+ players in.

is there a way that TD can keep the timer running... but lock the level until a players is out?

Basiclly when it gets to round 6 if there is still 4 players in, then run the clock, but dont
change the level.
but id there is only 2 people left at that level, then just continue and change every 20mins.

Hey guys, and girls.

Recently i posted some help in the following topic regarding points etc.

I have another question regarding this, as follows...

I'm having a 5 game tourney with the points system in post above
And i did a test run, i ran 5 games and created the stats file for this.

In each game, I took out a $2 rake from each player, which goes to the grand final pool
$2 x 10 x 5 = (100) + money made from selling drinks.

Now. Is it possible to create an automated tourney, that will add the rake to the prize pool
(and drinks sold) as each player will be buying in for free for the Grand Final

also i noticed when buying a player in u could set the amount of chips they start with,
is there away base on the points they recieve in the 5 games to automaticlly update this
field with the points * 200 ?

I'm sure that this has confused any one that reads, as it did to me. but if some one could
make some sence of it that would be great. thanks.

Yet another annoying n00b question...

I'm running a 10 week / 20 game season
From which 2 games are run a week.
1 is a Re-buy tourney. ($20 Buy-in, $20 Re-buys)
1 is a Set Buy-in tourney. ($20 Buy-in)

From every buy-in and re-buy, $5 is taken out for the Grand Final.
eg, we have 20 people each game; pools = $2000 GF, and $300 each night.
**but each week/game we might have 18 players, 23+8 re-buys etc (changing
the value of the prize pool)

Is there away that i can setup TD2, to take the $5 "rake/fee" out
and put it some where in the system, so that each game... i can have on the
main screen: "GRAND FINAL POOL: $450" or what ever.
And also so i can keep track of it for myself as Tourney Director.

*the "venue" doesn't take any rake or profit from the events

IF above is possible... my next question is...

We plan on taking money from the GF prize pool, to buy drinks, and then
sell them for a profit to players, and put the money back into the GF pool.
is there any way, or a value... i could use for this?

I like the idea of this formula...
I posted the one before hand, this is what i want to do with mine.
But have a % of points given out to the players, based on how many players there are.
I have taken this formula... and have been trying to change it... but no luck as yet.

My other option is the setup the formula like Corey advised... and when we get extra players,
i just give out 1/2 of the points for last place to those players.

I'm running a league that is 20 weeks long, but only yuor best 10 weeks counts.
The the points willl be added up, multipled by a number and given to the players in chips
for the grand final, so that every one gets a chance to win the GRAND FINAL PRIZE!

i just had a thought...
so u set it up like this...
10-20 players...
20-40 players... etc

u set the % up... for 1st,2nd,3rd,4th....20th.
if u only have 15 players that night... there is going to be say 5% left over for 16th,17th,18th,19th,20th.

and its that 5% that i would like to give out to either the top 3... or to the X players that night.

it doesnt make that much of a big deal...
but when im going to sell the idea of 100 points for each player that night
i want the total points to add up to X * 100

eg 15 * 100 = 1500

that will give a total of 1425 points to the 15 players. leaving 75 points as over flow.

the only way there would be less the 1 would be if there was 20 players.

and the only other way i could work it out would be to write the formula for every single possible starting players.

so...(again) in short... all i need to do is work out a way to add the % of points of players not playing and give them out to the others.
is there anyway this can be done??

this would make me 100% happy... right now im 95%...

again... thanks heaps for your help Corey... my formula (your formula) with a little edit is looking swell... atm.

will post when complete... in the mean time... any help with the issue above... and i would be over the moon.
